Hello lovelies,

The season for festive, Christmassy drawings has officially begun as I've been preparing for this year's Arty Advent Calendar!

I love drawing cosy scenes, and making them festive just makes them so much more delightful 🎄❄️💖

This week I started drawing illustrations while watching Christmas movies in the background to help set the mood - I watched The Santa Clause which is quite fun but my all time favourites are The Holiday and Love Actually. What are your go-to Christmas movies?

My partner and I are in Munich for a week or so to enjoy the Christmas markets before we head back to Australia in a couple of weeks and I'm loving all the decorations, Christmas lights and festive treats.

I haven't been drawing everyday lately but I have been enjoying doing little sketches in my tiny sketchbook here and there. Because it's so small it's really easy to fill a page and it feels like a lot less pressure than a big book!

I'll be starting the Arty Advent Calendar on December 1st and delivering an arty treat straight to your inbox every other day until December 23rd so keep an eye out for those. I'll be sharing things like wintery phone wallpapers, mini tutorials, brushes and drawing ideas - can't wait to show you!🤶🎁

Do you celebrate Christmas or do you have a different favourite holiday?

I'll be sharing some drawing prompts as part of the advent calendar - hopefully those help you with some ideas!

You are in my home country ♥ Since living in Australia the only thing I really miss are the cosy Christkindl Markets (Weihnachtsmarkt) in our old towns. The Gluehwein, the smell of burnt almonds, Spritzkuchen ... and the snow. I don't love the cold at all, but I've never managed to feel the spirit of Christmas here in Australia, as it is far too hot in South East Queensland at Christmas time. After 40 years of cold Christmas, there is no way I'll get used to 40 Deg Cel during Christmas. Enjoy and please share some Christmas market photos ♥.
