Studio Snippets - What I've Been Making This Month (Patreon)
Content
Hello everyone 🌷
Come on in to my art studio and I'll show you what I've been up to lately!
I actually had about two weeks off at the start of this month to visit my family in Queensland - another state about a 2.5 hour flight away - and although I didn't create anything while I was there, it was lovely to go to the beach and some parks to soak up insipiration and recharge.
Since I've been back I've been enjoying making some more hands on crafts, and the first thing I made is a flower to put on the wall of my art studio (I haven't hung it yet).
I just cut out some cardboard from an old box, glued on some thin tissue paper to give some texture to the top, and then painted it. I think it's cute and will add a lovely bit of shape and colour to my wall!
I've also started designing my own cross-stitch pattern because I love cross-stitch and think it would be so cute to create my own patterns, so this first one will be a test run. I haven't finished the design so I haven't started stitching it yet, but I'll let you know how it goes!
My favourite thing I've drawn lately is a page full of doggies at a dog park, which I drew a few weeks ago for my latest YouTube video. Arrtx sent me a set of their acrylic marker pens last month and I'm honestly obsessed with using them.
I drew a sketch in pencil first, then painted all of the doggies with the pens with some coloured pencil details, and then lastly filled in the grass and flowers.
I've been drawing a bit more in my sketchbook this year rather than digital art which is probably partly because I have an art studio now with lots of art supplies handy, and partly just a natural desire for some variation from digital art.
Some of these drawings are filmed for my second YouTube channel Mimimoo Draws where you can watch me drawing them in real-time as an art buddy 🥰
I did still draw a few digital illustrations these past few weeks though! I drew a buggy scene that I really love and turned into a little jigsaw puzzle with my xTool laser cutter and gave to my dad for Father's Day.
I also drew some hedgehogs having a blackberry themed afternoon tea based on the results of the September drawing poll which I think turned out quite sweet and definitely took me a few hours to draw!
Oh and of course I drew an illustration for this month's Illustration Club 🥰
I think that's about all from me, I hope you've been having a lovely month so far, and thanks for joining me in my studio!
What have you been creating lately?
