Hello lovelies!

I drew this illustration last week and thought I'd break it down into its simplest steps to show you the process.

This drawing is my version of a Draw This In Your Style (DTIYS) challenge hosted by @iraville over on Instagram. They're such a wonderful artist who specialise in watercolour illustration and have definitely been an influence on my own art style so I recommend checking them out if you're not already following them.

So the basic steps for this illustration went something like this:

Sketch out my composition using Iraville's challenge illustration as a guide

I set my sketch layer to 20% opacity and multiply blend mode

Then on new layers below, I coloured in all of my basic shapes in block of colour

For each shape layer, I then added shading and texture

It's usually around now that I'll hide my earlier sketch layer because I don't need it anymore

Finally I add lots of little details like dots on the mushrooms and texture on the beanie

And that's about it!

I think next time I might change up the composition a bit because I think the bird is a little too high, but that's just if I'm being critical - overall I really like it!❤

^ And here is the original from @iraville for reference!
