Creating Autumn Colour Palettes (Patreon)

Hello my lovely flowers!

Since it's autumn/fall for so many of you I thought I'd share some autumn colour palettes with you, because regardless of what season it is I always love fall colours!

I find that making moodboards, Pinterest boards or just browsing photos to be a great way to collect inspiration for colour palettes, or even better if you have autumn trees in your area you could go for a walk outside and look around.

I made a moodboard for autumn illustrations recently using Milanote, you can view it here (you shouldn't need to sign in or have an account to view my board) and I'll attach the photo of it below.

From the photos on this moodboard (or from any inspiration source you have) we can identify common colours and make colour palettes for our illustrations like I did in my moodboard above. I also used this moodboard to come up with some drawing ideas for autumn which you're welcome to use too if you like!

Quite often in autumn we see lots of lovely oranges and reds, but also soft pinks, deep purples, and light blues. Sometimes there is still a lot of green around, and maybe some rich brown.

So although it's lovely to have really classic autumn palettes with lots of oranges, red and brown, I also really like having a pop of green, blue or yellow in there too!

So I've made a few colour palettes for us, feel free to use them in your own art or as a starting point to make your own palettes. Download the images below, bring them into your drawing software and use the eyedropper tool to pick the colours you'd like to use.
