Mimi's Newsletter - Daily Drawing + A Small Patreon Change (Patreon)

Hello my beautiful flowers 🌷
I hope that May has been treating you well, we've had such lovely weather in England this week which has been a nice change from all the rain in April!
I've had quite a productive few weeks after having some time off in March and have really enjoyed making some new products and getting back into daily drawing for a little while.
I decided to do the 10 activities in my Creativity Workbook and post the illustrations to Instagram each day, so then I thought why not challenge myself to post on Instagram every day for 30 days. I'm about two weeks into posting daily now! It's been a while since I prioritised spending an hour or so each weekday drawing a little something and it's been such a nice creative exercise.
Also we all know that Instagram reach can be really volatile so I thought it would be a good experiment to see if posting daily will make my reach better or worse. So far I'd say that it's not having a very positive impact, but these things always take quite a while to see results so it's too early to stop just based on two weeks of data (also I'm enjoying it so I want to do it anyway).
It was lovely to release my second brush pack this month and also launch my Creativity Workbook so I'm really pleased with that! I've seen lots of Patreon discounts being used so I hope you're all enjoying them 🥰
Although this month I was able to be productive and get lots of lovely things made, I think I need to reduce my workload a tiny bit moving forward because sometimes it gets quite overwhelming! It's mostly because I'm illustrating a picture book on top of everything else which adds a lot to my workload, and I have two more books lined up after I finish illustrating the current one. It's a great problem to have and I'm excited to illustrate them all, but because of that I'm going to make some small changes.
Starting from June I won't be making the video of my sketchbook for the illustration club prompt that I usually release at the start of the month. We'll still do the club as normal, but instead of making a whole video I'll just do a photo post instead. Hope that's ok with you all!
Over the next few days I'll be finishing this month's video for Beautiful Bluebells which is all about drawing from photo references in your own style so I'm excited to share that!
We've been in an apartment in Peterborough all month which is not the most exciting city in England but it was practical and I wanted to be close to family for a little while (there is actually a beautiful cathedral here though). Tomorrow we're going to a cute cottage in the countryside again for two weeks which I think will be really nice so I'm looking forward to it 🌷🌿
I'll keep you all updated with what I get up to!
Here are a few photo highlights of the last few weeks that aren't illustration related:
