How To Resize Your Artwork (Patreon)
Content
Hello again!
I've finished this month's lesson video and this one is about resizing your artwork for different formats. You'll likely want to repurpose some of your art for different uses at some point either as a business or just for personal gifts, maybe for things like prints, greeting cards, stickers or phone wallpapers.
First I'll show you how I resize artwork in Procreate, and then I'll show you how I resize artwork in Photoshop, so feel free to skip ahead in the video to the program that's relevant to you.
The key thing is to draw your artwork in as high a resolution as possible to begin with so that you have enough quality for different uses. I personally draw all of my art in 3000x3000 pixels these days so that if I want to turn it into a quality print I can, but the larger your resolution the more taxing it is on your device so it depends on what device you're drawing on.
I talk more about image quality and resolution in this video.
The sizes I use as examples in this video are:
High resolution square image (original drawing): 3000x3000 pixels
8x10 print: 8x10 inches
Instagram stories: 1080x1920 pixels
I hope you enjoy this lesson and are having a lovely end to August!
