I have been a busy little bee this September and I wanted to tell you about what I've been up to 😊🐝

'Plan Your Creative Business' Short Course

I've spent a lot of this month working on my first small video course and even though it's not particularly long or in-depth it sure has taken me a lot of time, but it's almost finished now! 

I'm making a class about how to plan your creative business to help artists who want to monetise their art with getting clarity on their goals, identify who their audience is and find a product that fits for both them and their customer.

It won't be super long - it'll be about 45 minutes - but I wanted it to be well thought out so I spent quite a while writing the script. I've also made a workbook to go along with it that can be filled in throughout the class, so that took time too!

We filmed most of the footage for it yesterday which was exciting because it's the first time I've spoken directly to camera. Usually I avoid it because I'm a bit camera shy and also on YouTube I prefer to be more private, but it felt appropriate in this class to teach a bit more directly.

I'm super excited to share it with everyone, Dan is editing it right now and we're intending to have it finished by the end of the month. The plan is to put it on Skillshare (as long as they approve it) to test out Skillshare as a platform, and also because I'll have a code for a free trial which means most people can watch it for free (but I'll still get paid) 🙌

I'm curious to know how much Skillshare pays creators because I know that it isn't as much as it used to be, but it'll be a good experiment and I can always remove it and host it somewhere else if I don't like the platform. I'll be sure to share my thoughts on it after I've used it for a while!

Leaf Stamps Brush Set

I also this month have been making a set of brush stamps in leaf shapes because I was using them for myself but decided to turn them into a set to sell. The full set isn't ready yet but I shared a mini set of 12 with our Beautiful Bluebell tier to keep forever, you can download them from this post!

So that's mostly what I've been up to the past few weeks. We're in Wales at the moment and have had some stunning weather this month which was a nice surprise, and I've been doing a little bit of illustrating for a picture book.

Drawing

This afternoon I spent probably a bit too long drawing what you all voted for in the latest poll, so I'll share a proper drawing snapshot of the process with you soon. I don't draw many detailed scenes like this anymore but it was nice to dedicate the afternoon to it and I really like how it turned out!
