Hello everyone!

Thank you for voting in my last poll about what I should draw this week, the votes were quite close between the cat and the dog so I thought the two could be friends in one illustration 😍

Here's a simple breakdown of my digital drawing process, plus you can download the colour palette below if you'd like to use it yourself!

My drawing process went a little something like this:

First I drew a rough sketch of the composition. Cutting animals off at the bottom of frame like I did in this drawing makes it easier to draw because you don't have to worry about the floor and the back legs!

Then I made that sketch layer about 30% opacity so that I'd easily be able to see through it onto new layers below.

Underneath the sketch layer I coloured in all of the main elements of my illustration, mostly keeping things that are different colours on separate layers.

I added line details to give the effect of the dog's fur, and also added details to the flowers.

I've been enjoying soft gradient backgrounds lately, so I drew some pink and white onto the background with my soft crayon brush about as large as it would go. I try to blend everything together so that there aren't any sharp changes in colour.

Then I added some layers of shading and texture to pretty much everything!

I like how I drew the dog more than how I drew the cat, but I think it's sweet that they're in it together being friends!💖
