So. That executive order is awful. It's many of the worst instincts of the Obama administration resurfacing in Biden's White House. The A.C.L.U. is right to pursue legal action against this order.

At the same time, calling a temporary halt to border crossing equivalent to Trumpism is just ghastly. It's almost certainly an irrelevant distinction to refugees suffering at the border, but like... really? You're saying this is indistinguishable from the presidency that made a policy of separating children from their families? That rose to power by emboldening white nationalism? That put Breitbart in the White House? Let's develop an understanding of political power before we cheapen the horrors of Trump, shall we? I think that'll be much more useful for tackling the horrors of liberalism.

It's a shame Modi hasn't been ousted, seeing how next to Netanyahu he's plausibly the worst man alive. Watching him struggle as his political machine deteriorates is fun though. May his rule waste away.
