April 2022 Journal (Patreon)

Woof. Long overdue for an update.

I haven't forgotten the Patreon or Nowhere and Back Again. In fact, the Mirkwood piece is shaping up better than previous iterations. Over the summer, I'll write a lot more. Classes, as well as becoming Opinions Editor for The Stony Brook Statesman, have kept me busy. So I'll get back to you shortly.

Lately I've been reading more fiction, which is where my heart is. I'm planning to write some fiction over the summer, although I haven't decided how I'm distributing it. In the meantime, here's my recent reading.

Manhunt is a fun, trashy splatterpunk romp from Gretchen Felker-Martin. Not my style, but it's hard not to appreciate a ragtag band of trans people fucking their way through post-apocalyptic America and killing J. K. Rowling.

I've finally gotten into The Murderbot Diaries, Martha Wells' short books that ask the question "what if Marvin from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy liked soap operas and killing people?" All Systems Red is a hoot. Can't wait to read more.

At the moment, my obsession is Hades, which prompted me to read Barbara Graziosi's The Gods of Olympus, which so far is a delightful account of the Greek gods.

By the way, play Hades if you haven't.
