Brilliant beginning music Mike - brilliant... Originally airing on May 4, 2010, 'The Candidate' is Episode 14 of Season 6 of LOST. It is the 117th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 8.9, placing it as the #3 ranked episode of this season and #27 out of all the episodes shown so far.

Just seeing the name of this episode feels like a punch in the stomach. I’ll never forget the first time I saw this as it aired. I cried hard and went to bed feeling physically sick.

Nothing hits harder than the end of this episode. I cry every time. The music is perfect.

This episode is just distressing and it doesn't get easier on rewatches. But it does confirm that MIB is a piece of shit. His sweet talking is all a ploy to get what he wants🖕🏻 The next one is going to be interesting! We're in the end game

Me too. Like those gasping sobs where you can't breathe. People at work the next day were asking if I was ok, because my eyes were still red and puffy

Treat yo self today. Eat some chocolate. Take a nap. Watch a Disney movie. Restore your emotional juices.

I have no idea how many rewatches I’ve done. Yes, Mike, it still hurts. 💔💔💔

This was an emotionally devastating episode 😢 💔. Credit to Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim's acting. Michael Giacchino's score on the part when Jin and Sun's hands let go was beautiful but sad. I remember feeling relief on the commercial break first time watching this episode.

MIB isn't a good guy, but honestly, I think Jacob is more of a villian than Smokey. Smokey is doing what he HAS to do to leave, Jacob brings all these ppl to island on purpose, with the majority having horrible deaths. Hell look at how many innocent ppl died in the original plane crash.

Fifty Shades of Grey, the TV show! You’re not wrong Mike but there’s a bit more to this and might be better discussed next week 😊 as we have to be careful about what we can and can’t say. There is an important distinction in that Jacob is now protecting the entire world from evil incarnate (as Dogan called him) so that’s probably a cause worth fighting for, and like war… the casualties can be deemed acceptable if it saves humanity. “Everyone you know and love will be gone, they will simply cease to be”. Also, MIB has tipped his hat quite a few times that he’s a flagrant liar and his ambitions exceed escaping. He also demonstrates a disregard for humanity and a bloodlust “we’re gonna have to deal with the passengers from the Ajira flight… you know what I mean”

With the possible exception of Jin's Dad and Locke's Dad- no character on this show is completely a P.O.S. or a perfect person. That's one of the things about this show I love soooooo much, every person has layers of gray built in.

Says dying as a "self unaliving bomber" but for the most rightous cause when he pretended to be one for a bad group of ppl in the real world.... And then the quans... All the ppl back in the day speculating if the name on the wall meant Jin or sun... It meant both, if Quan was to replace Jacob it was supposed to be both of them together not just one, cause they are one and alone they are half...
