The scene with the deer was symbolic as animals have a 6th sense about people. They'd be uneasy or flee from someone's whose vibes gave off intention of harm. Dexter being able to be so close to it to touch it meant to him that he might just have achieved a level of humanity he always knew he lacked. Also, the police were never looking for Dexter. (1) They never knew he was a killer, and (2) he was declared dead from the boat in the hurricane on the last episode. All he had to do is not run into anyone who knew him as Dexter otherwise he'd have some splaining to do.

If a lot of patrons wanted to watch it, it would have won. If you looked at a majority of the comments, most people agreed that the new season was terrible, which it was.

The story ended years ago. Whatever crap they produced for new blood, isn't in anyway connected to the original series. They should have just left it alone.

Little fun fact. Actor Clancy brown. Who plays Matt's father. Does the voice of Mr krabs from spongebob squarepants lol he's a great actor and has been in lots of movies and shows. He was also the bad guard in shawshank redemption too.

Yayyy!! I was someone who loved Dexter, all the characters even though I didn’t lovvve the last few seasons. Nothing can top the first four, but why do I feel like Dexter is like my cousin who just does a little killing on the side haha. Never thought I’d root for a murderer. That’s Dexter though lol when this came out it has been YEARS since the last time I watched Dexter and I’m so glad you guys get to watch it close to when you finished the show. Eight years, look how big our little Harrison is lol I think you guys are gonna really like it!

THE ENDING TO DEXTER NEW BLOOD IS NOT THE END OF DEXTER. WHAT IT SEEMS HAPPENED IS NOT ALL. the first 5 min of dexter original sin picks up from the ending of the finale episode of new blood - where we see an ambulance pull into the E.R..... so

Serial killer plot aside, I highly "Northern Exposure" as a future series for Asia and BJ. It's definitely got "Dexter New Blood" vibes (remote town setting w/quirky vibes, humor and great characters).
