Kathy Bates! Stephen King! Brutal death in the first two minutes! Watching you guys start there then settle into this film and accept the story on its own terms with maturity, vulnerability and compassion was a pure cathartic joy. Keep doing what you’re doing how you’re doing it because you are doing all the things exactly right.

Hi Asia and BJ I'm a newbie to this kind of thing and anxious to sit down and watch this with you. I'm just discovering Patreon. I remember seeing this movie when it first came out and it changed me. From time to time, it would pop up on TV and couldn't get myself to watch it again. But now I will with you. Looking forward to watching many more with you. Oh, if you haven't seen already and like Ben Stiller, check out the movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Also stars Vince Vaughn and others you will recognize. Omg!! Pier I’m so sorry I got that wrong.. and thank you for correcting me.. 🤦🏾‍♀️ This movie was phenomenal! If there was a way to describe what life was like and how it felt, this movie is exactly how I would explain it and for me, it made perfect sense. The structure of how this movie was filmed on top of it being so realistic was why I enjoyed it most. After Reading your comment I’m sure there’s a lot you hold on to, as do I; understandably so.. I hope you’ve been able to develop a sense of internal peace because I too, still struggle sometimes, obviously… I am and always will be a work in progress. I’m just thankful I have been able to navigate to where I am today. Thank you for a great movie choice! I’ve already purchased it on Amazon! Have a great weekend! ♥️♥️

Never heard of this one. Amazing movie. Fantastic acting. Bates is so good. I was pleasantly surprised to discover another movie with Christopher Plummer (the detective). He always plays a great role in good movies. Been a fan ever since his role as captain von trapp in The Sound of Music. Also I have never seen David Strathairn (the dad) as a bad guy in a movie.

Oh Lawd….yes, she was CRAzY in Misery!! Eeek!! Hope this is not that kind of crazy…lol! Never heard of this one. But there’s a great crime thriller with Halle Berry called “The Call”. She’s a 911 operator Also KISS THE GIRLS with Ashley Judd & Morgan Freeman! Both great. Let’s go see what Delores is doing…..

Wow….i hear you, Asia. {hugs}When a child’s innocence is stolen at an early age, especially by someone who is supposed to be a protector, all trust is broken. You don’t really even realize why you make such poor decisions as you get older. You think your entire worth comes from one thing. Sometimes you are blessed enough to find a real man who understands you, believes you, doesn’t BLAME you, and is willing to love you through the painful process of healing. And the process continues forever. Bc it changes who you are. It only takes one thing to trigger those memories and you’re that little child again. Every time you take back your power, it helps make you stronger. This was a great movie. I wish everyone had someone in their corner like this mother. I have no sympathy for child molesters. They should ship them all to an island by themselves. Loved BJ’s comments at the end. :) Peace and blessings to you both.

The book was 1992. The movie I saw in theaters was 1995. I would have been 11. Sort of changed my life in a good way. The first movie I ever recall that made me fall in love with Kathy Bates was called, a home of our own. Both films are relate to. But I absolutely adore her as a leading reoccurring actress in the American horror story franchise. 😊

Dolores ans Vera literally only bonded once Vera shared the truth about her husband with her. Apparently Vera killed her husband too. Perhaps for the same types of reasons.. same thing happened to me as a child. I can see why selena drank like she did. I enjoyed this but don't think I'd watch it again.
