Pele'sFyre

Darth Brooks

SOA and a Sci-Fi drop well today just got immensely better for us fam!

Davey11

OMG. Never expected you guys to watch this, it's one of my favorite movies. Another James Cameron banger. You have reacted to most of his movies except this one and Avatar I think

Andreas

Great movie with the best hollywood stars. My night is saved, thanks and Love from germany 🥰

Michele G

Woo hoo ! Great movie! One of my favs !!!! Keep your pantyhose on !!

fLYChiCA

Omg GREAT pick! One of my favorite movies! It's a wonderful James Cameron movie. If people don't know, he made Titanic

Michael Lynch

Oh hell yes!!! One of my favorites. It’s pretty emotional as well

William Rice

Yesss. One of my favorites. It’s considered one of the most difficult movies to film for the actors of all time.

Annie Bonz

AHHHHHH just give me allllll the content YESSS I love this movie!

Skip

The liquid oxygen is real, the scene with the rat was done without special effects and the rat was fine after

Slyladykush

Been waiting patiently for this one! Easily one of my top 3 favorite films of all time. Recently saw it remastered in IMAX! Incredible. I’m always excited when it’s friendly aliens too! 😂❤️🙏🏼

Skip

Also there is a longer version of this movie that is WILD. When the nuke went down to the alien city, the aliens used their water powers to threaten the world with massive tidal waves. When bud saved the aliens they returned the favor and made all the tidal waves go away.

Michael Lynch

The head guy on hidden figures is Kevin Costner. The head guy on this movie is ed Harris. Ed Harris is the guy in Apollo 13. The liquid oxygen is a real life thing and they explained in the movie that the liquid would protect you from the pressure of the ocean.

Jacqueline Separovich

One of my favorite movies!!!! Every part is fantastic; so glad you reacted to it! Please 🙏 react to “As Good As It Gets” with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt; they both won Oscars for it 🙏🙏

Michael Lynch

speaking of Kevin Costner, you guys really need to watch the bodyguard with him and Whitney Houston.

Deep Dives

Why don't the people who recommend movie's don't recommend the superior unrated or directors cut? It's getting annoying!

Carol Rocha

0:08:35 Asia,”ah wait a minute” 😄 1:00:20 Asia, “This must be like the mutha ship….of the octa-angel.” 😂 1:40:44 Asia, “under there playin bumper cars!” 😄 02:20:19 Yes!! Yes it is Ed Harris from Apollo 13! He played Gene Kranz, the Flight Director (with the vest). 😊👍🏼 It was such a joy to watch with y’all. I never would watch it before bc I thought it was a scary movie too, Asia! Thanks Asia & BJ!! 😊❤️

Michele G

I knew Asia would have a lot to say 😂😂😂😂 back when we watched Signs and she started talking about grey aliens 😂😂 I knew then yall would be fun !!

Michele G

I hated the directors cut. I mean I get it…it’s what he wanted the movie to be about, but i just didn’t like it. It took away from the movie imo and looked fake and corny. Also this is the version I grew up watching so maybe that’s another reason why I’m having a hard time liking it. I don’t like change 😂

Michele G

I can’t wait for them to watch that. I’ve suggested it before

Amanda Powers

Whenever someone puts this movie on you just never know which of the many, many endings you're gonna get. I love it all the same.

Pele'sFyre

Asia's face when they first showed the lil clear alien 🤣 oooh I laughed! 😳 LOL I loved the E.T. aspect of the film. Supposedly we hv explored more of outer space than we hv under the oceans! Unidentified Flying Octopus 🐙 could be a thing, who knows?!

Karim

If you ever get a chance watch the extended edition. The interaction between Bud and the aliens is different, plus other elements between Russia and the United States.

Davey11

I didn't know Asia was so into the UFO and Alien phenomena. Check out Contact with Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey, great movie that gets you thinking

Davey11

Kevin Costner was in Hidden Figures. The guy in this movie Ed Harris is his name was in Apollo 13

Davey11

Totally agree, it sucked

Deep Dives

I understand, but in the Directer's cut the stakes were so much higher and gives better context to the story.

Kung-Fubar

I saw this movie in the mid-ninties and I STILL think about that scene on a monthly basis.

Skip

co-sign

Michele G

It does. I agree with you there. I just wish it was filmed differently. The whole movie was beautiful and so well filmed and all the other stuff looked like B movie action scenes. Especially the giant fake tidal wave lol. I wish he had went about it a different way bc it does make total sense as to why they were there and why they saved Bud

Jordan Jackson

This movie was fire! Thank you for sharing.

Deep Dives

and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Raider Ron

Ed Harris is quite a few movies and he's also in an HBO series called WestWorld which I know you guys would love.

Donna Bannister

Oooohh I really enjoyed this one💯 Never seen it before either... but definitely thumbs up 👍 especially since the alien's were the cute and nice kind🥰😂 lol

Anthony

Thanks, Asia and BJ. I had 2 picks shown on your Patreon channel, back-to-back. As a long time subscriber, I thank you both so very much. 🥰

Anthony

Too bad the big wigs at HBO’s new management decided to pull the plug before what would have been its final season. I would like to see BJ and Asia do “Silicon Valley” and “Veep” as new 30-minute comedy series reactions. They’ve never done comedy series’s

KimM

Enjoyed watching this movie again with you. Mesmerizing and heartwarming, not to mention suspensful at times. You would enjoy another alien movie called "Cocoon". It is a 1985 Oscar-winning science fiction comedy-drama film in which the residents of a Florida retirement home get a new lease on life when they stumble across an alien "fountain of youth". Directed by Ron Howard. The sequel is good too "Cocoon: The Return".

Josip Buretić

This great movie, looking forward to watch your reaction

Chris Smith

My favorite all time ed harris movie is The Rock with sean Connery and nicholas cage

Chris Smith

Ohh and if u didnt realize the actor who played the navy seal that emploded was michael beihn he played as kyle reese in terminator and corpral hicks in aliens

Shirlene Wright

I saw this in the Theaters, have it in DVD and it will always be a Fav! Fantastic Reaction. You Guys were soooo dialed in!

Wolf

hERES SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT THE movie. Stupid caps. loved loved loved your reacTION. Ok that was my meezer. but yea you should have an account at imdb. the app on your phone. imdb should always be your first stop when looking for info on a movie. but heres some trivia. 1. Real oxygenated fluorocarbon fluid was used in the rat fluid breathing scene. Dr. Johannes Kylstra and Dr. Peter Bennett of Duke University pioneered this technique and consulted on the film, giving detailed instructions on how to prepare the fluid. The only reason for cutting to the actors' faces was to avoid showing the rats defecating from momentary panic as they began breathing the fluid. 2. Meh to much trivia. here is the link https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096754/trivia/?ref_=tt_trv_trv

Wolf

oh and asia next time BJ leans forward? have a pic of a 85" tv on your phone and shove it under his nose lol. how many views we gotta get you to to be able to get a decent TV!! this one was so good i am re watching after i just watched it while i play some car mechanic simulator lol

Randy Ripley

Have always loved this movie. I'm not big on Sci fi, but this one stands out

Popcorn & Petty

I'm with you Asia... there is no way I would be going down in that thing. Absolutely NOT! You could not pay me enough. That's a lose-lose situation right there.

Popcorn & Petty

Lol, you guys should watch The Meg. This movie will change your mind about what's really down there. Its the scary version of the abyss

Clockwork360

Yes Came here to say just this!

Darth Brooks

This movie holds up so well. We've only digitally mapped 26% of the seafloor so realistically 95% of the actual ocean depths has not been discovered by man. You never know but there's probably an OctoAngel down there 😂

Pink Martini AZ

Now we’re talking! I first saw this movie in the theatre with a bunch of friends. We loved it then and many still love it today. Including my husband and I. I love how the aliens saved all of them. After all, Bud saved the aliens world too by sacrificing himself to diffuse the nuke. Asia you are correct, Ed Harris was in Apollo 13 and he was the guy in the moon who controlled the Truman Show too. One of my favorite actors. He’s been in tons of stuff. Thanks for picking this one.

Pink Martini AZ

I forgot all about Cocoon! Asia & BJ would be cracking me up with their comments.

Kung-Fubar

HA! Yes! The line I love best has to be "All I want to know is , are you happy with your haircut?" Has me rolling every time.

SixEight Guy

Meh. The Meg was entertaining, but it's nowhere near the film The Abyss is/was.

Michele G

You couldn’t pay me a trillion zillion dollars !!! Nooo way !!!! 😂

Popcorn & Petty

I agree. The Meg doesn't hold a candle to the Abyss. But then again I love all of the James Cameron movies.

Wolf

DOOOD. that is a greattt deal! i may just pick up one for myself. 4k and can handle dolby atmos as it has an arc port

Wolf

"Asia n bj you next post better be you guys opening 70" box!!! you can hook your computer straight into it. i have used regular tv as my pc monitor since 2011 ish. you can dewwwww eeeeet.

Sapporo Dragon

OK, so now that you watch this movie, you need to watch Leviathan!🦑

Dan Gershgol

I've heard of this but never seen it. Very good sci fi thriller. Ed Harris was in Apollo 13. He looks really young in this. You need to watch The Rock.

CJ-97

What a nice movie this was

Midnight Hour

Saw this in the theater and loved it! James Camaron has a real love and fascination with the ocean and it shows in his movies. There is a director's cut that shows that while Bud was diffusing the bomb, the aliens were threatening the Earth with super tidal waves because the humans were about to nuke each other.

Erin Black

I think Aliens are Demons, meant to make people quesrion GOD's existence.

Erin Black

An "NTI" in this movie stands for Non-Terrestrial Intelligence.

Erin Black

Technically, Bud, would have to do Decompression Stops at different depths on the way down and on the way back up. That is very important in SCUBA Diving.

Aaron Barlow

Hurricanes SHOULD be named after women, they come to you all warm and wet and leave with the house.

Aaron Barlow

It's 'G-14' classified BJ, not 'G-15' classified lol.

Aaron Barlow

Virgil gave her some Alabama CPR with those slaps lol.

Fhaide

Don't care how many times I se this, I always cry a little when he is typing to her as he goes down the cliff. The aliens are gorgeous.

James C

Last I heard, we humans have explored about 7% of the ocean floors..but not much of the deepest depths..

FLORIDABOYYY

we only discovered 5% of the ocean
