Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Comments

Sapporo Dragon

This movie is a classic! It is rumored that Steven Spielberg based this on a true account file from the military.🛸👽👍🏻

Darth Brooks

Sci-Fi classic for tonight! Only 3 more hours and I can dive in, I hope everyone's day was a great one, enjoy the reaction✌❤ fam!

Sapporo Dragon

Melinda Dylan who passed away just last year at the age of 83, also played the mom in a Christmas Story. 🎄🎁

take it easy (tkitez)

Hope I was the one yelling Stargate in the comments that you noticed. Classic popcorn summer flick and really great beats/moments to react to; the pacing is on point for reactions in general. As far as the coil whine or general noise of the computer (I assume this is what you're talking about), you could grab a case with sound proofing built in that would mute tons of the noise. Something from Fractal Design or something, or find a local computer shop to swap it in for you if you're not comfortable doing it yourself. Do you happen to know the specs of what you're using now?

MUST WATCH "THE FOURTH KIND" crazy space movie based in true events.... ps Asia get a blanket for your feet and 1 for BJ too!!

Rebecca Karsner

What a nice surprise! This is such a great movie! I used to watch this with my dad all the time growing up. My dad swears he had a ufo encounter of his own back in the day. I think I believe him but he also used to be in a band and partied hard for sure.. so who knows?? Lol 😅 Anyways can't wait to watch! Have a great night everybody!

Karl Kraus

One of the greatest movies ever made The story, the acting, the effects, all sublime I've been wanting another reactor channel to do this Glad you got on it first!

Davey11

Mission Impossible 🙏

Karl Kraus

This was originally supposed to be released during the summer of 1977, which was around the same time of Star Wars' run in the theater So, this would've been the biggest competition between two movies at the time if that had happened Plus, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are best friends so the battle would've driven them crazy but they would've respected either result Plus, John Williams was nominated for both Star Wars AND this movie at the Oscars in this year So, John lost to himself when the award went to him for Star Wars, which is pretty impressive and funny at the same time

Greg Mondragon

Devil Tower, in Wyoming is Beautiful , always think of this movie, when I drive by it…I’m a trucker

Karl Kraus

I'm glad you're face shined with happiness when you knew who directed this Asia Spielberg is a favorite of mine too! He absolutely loves making movies, whether it's directing or producing Heck, I think this was the only movie he wrote on his own This was his baby He loved aliens and the thrill of them as a kid so this is like a love letter to that

Slyladykush

Asia, I’m right there with you regarding aliens/UFOs. I don’t get how people cannot be utterly fascinated with the idea of other living things coming from other parts of the universe to visit us! It’s equally incredible and terrifying at the same time. By the way, ancient aliens is my comfort show 😂 so excited for this one! 👽🛸🫶🏼

KimM

Eager to watch this with you tomorrow!! This movie absolutely fascinated me when it first premiered. Back then when I was a kid and saw this movie, I would have loved to jump on that spaceship and learn from these aliens. Now that I'm older, I probably would be a bit terrified and say "nope!"

Lori Mcmyne

I want to share my thoughts every time you post a movie or a SOA update but to sum it all up, you two are a gems 💎 ❤️

Sapporo Dragon

I love Ancient Aliens! Do you watch The Why Files on YouTube? That’s a great show with a new episodes every week. You can also catch up by watching the compilation videos that they have posted recently.🛸👽👍🏻

Sapporo Dragon

So, ready to have your minds blown? Gary Guffey (Barry) is 52 years old now. 😳

Slyladykush

Yes! The Why Files is awesome. There was a great show on the history channel called Project Bluebook but canceled after 2 seasons. Still great though!

Vigorous Strongs

I didn't pay attention to this movie, but have you noticed BJ's little dance before the movie started, y'all? OMG, BJ been cracking me up through out the whole movie.

Skip

This is where I start yelling for “Contact” in the comments

Renee S

Now this is a movie. And if you haven't seen it, you have to hit Spielberg's other alien movie, ET.

Dana

I saw this with my parents when it came out and I think I've seen it once since, more than 20 years ago. I can't wait to watch it again with you two. And UFOs exist, I saw one in the 1980's in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. It was small, disc like and moved faster than the blink of an eye. :)

Bonnie Smith

Yesss! This will make the end of the evening much better =)

Sapporo Dragon

Agreed, great movie! 🛸👽👍🏻

Slyladykush

Fun fact J. Allen Hyneck who was the scientist investigating the UFO phenomenon for the Air Force, helped Spielberg as a “technical advisor” for this film. The stories Hyneck must’ve shared. Wow.

Darth Brooks

Just starting and I love the interludes before ya'll start the movies. Need more of Asia's translations as well 😂😂😂 they've been solid the last few times they were needed lol.

Abby

SG1 💕

Kimberly Tyda

Once you are ready to start a new TV series, I highly recommend The Expanse. It is the best SciFi space series ever made. It does a great job at getting the science and physics right.

Rose Dallman

Asia -- Conspiracy Theorist BJ -- Faithful Believer You guys are so much fun to watch. These experiences allow me to see these movies for the first time, again, through your eyes.. The aliens were looking for some kind of communication, which is why they tried the tonal language. The ships flew all over the world, they had no idea what countries would be able to communicate. They just spread a message through the melody and images to be at a certain location at a certain day/time. That's why the Frenchman said they were "invited." He must have been the head astrophysicist from the UN or something.

Pink Martini AZ

It was a different take. The friendly UFO. Have you both seen E. T.? That’s such a fantastic alien story that Spielberg made. Sounds like BJ has with the phone home quote. Lol

Sapporo Dragon

I saw the original Project Blue Book when I was a kid. The part where the alien robot approaches the farmers wife while she was standing on her front porch scared the crap out of me!😆 You might be able to find some of the original episodes on YouTube. 🛸👽👍🏻

Davey11

2001: A Space Odyssey is the GOAT of space movies. Stanley Kubrick baby

skz

Hope y'all finish American Wedding and Reunion someday.

Donna Bannister

Well this was a blast from the past💯 Haven't seen this in years but as soon as I heard the crowd humming those 5 music notes🎶🔥🎶 I kid you not!!!!... I remembered the sign language and started doin them😂😂 lmao!!

Damn! Forgot about that. 2010 was good too … made with Kubrick’s blessing

s8150f

Another great choice. You guys are the best.

Eamonn Locke

You're right, a noisy PC is from the cooling fans. Not sure what your setup is, but it's always good to turn off, unplug all cables and get the dust out from the fans and vents every now and then. As you know, the more tasks you have open and high demand applications running, the hotter the CPU will become and fans will run faster to keep the temperature down. Newer Mac's and gaming PC's usually have good cooling systems. I build PC's and always install multiple fans and a liquid cooler and they run completely silent even running high task programs. Let me know if you need help troubleshooting or PC parts shopping. NZXT, Corsair, and Phanteks, just to name a few, have some great cases to build on or prebuilt PC's to purchase.

Aria Nadii

Yes! Please watch Stargate. :)

Joshua Coe

Fingers crossed for Shutter Island. I understand it may take awhile, but I can't wait for you guys to see it, a masterpiece in my opinion.

KimM

"Oh no, they're dropping off Hybrids" and "is that Michael Jackson back there?" Love your reactions!! You two are so delightful to share a movie with!! Happy you got to see this great movie!

Amber

Y'all missing out by not watching The Mist

Mark G

Was a sophomore in college when this came out...was awesome on the big screen !

🖤Bonita☆

I loved this movie as a kid! It's definitely aged. Stargate is so so good!!

Raider Ron

When B.J. said there's Michael Jackson I was cracking up.

icekaps

Hmmm.....A different kind of movie with a big rock wall? Gave me the idea that maybe it's time for you guys to do your first ever reaction to a documentary: FREE SOLO (Alex Honnold's attempt to climb El Capitan in Yosemite without ropes).

Robert

Another good alien movie is Contact... its a different one though. Also I was thinking "Barry" is a great show. I recommend it! Another Los Angeles setting show within Action/Dramedy genre.

Robert

I would watch that, Alex Honnold is insane. It will blow your mind guys.

Dan Gershgol

The ending musical part still gives me chills. Anyone else hear when you wish upon a star melody at 2 hours 19 minutes and 51 to 56 seconds? Contact is a fantastic sci fi movie you need to watch. Also ET, Independence Day and the first X Files movie.

Mark G

Asia's constant sense of Doom and Gloom was funny....

Mark G

Hmmm...I wonder if his wife and kids ever find out what happened or are they convinced he abandoned them..?

pkleo73

i second, third, fourth and fifth Stargate lol

Anthony

Thank you! Been compiling for a while now :)

pkleo73

i also agree with Contact. I put it as an option on a bunch of 'what movie should we watch next' polls lol.

Pauline

You might also enjoy an alien SYFY movie called “Paul”. It’s a little raunchy, but funny

N M

I always prefer the free version — especially if it’s the original theatrical release.

Joel

If you guys are ever up for a short, 25-minute reaction, take a look at The Twilight Zone episode, ‘To Serve Man.’ I promise you’ll have plenty of viewers who love it, and you’ll love it too.

Wolf

~sniffle~ they knew to go for the director's cut. They have come so far from when they started!!!! then again there is the director cut of dances with Wolves which is a pile of horse hocky compared to the theatrical cut. then you have the Zac Snider cut of Justice League that turns a crapo movie that is the theatrical release into something awesome.

pkleo73

if theyre gonna do that, they should do the whole series. Theyd dig it.

PutredUthred

Stargate and Fire in the Sky

Carol Rocha

Yall this is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIES!! I’m so pumped to be watching with y’all!! Check out “A QUIET PLACE” and “ A QUIET PLACE 2” Yall (especially Asia, ☺️👽) WILL LOVE IT!! 🥰 Here we go!

Squ33ky

Always go theatrical for 1st time

Rio Mendoza

Felt like a Sci-Fi day today cant wait to watch the reaction this is such a great film. Thanks as always
