Don't think I've seen any new years movies. Only movie that comes to my mind is Forrest Gump when he and lieutenant Dan celebrate the new years at a bar. That and a Boy Meets World new years episode 😂.

Not quite a New Years movie per se but Groundhog Day is a perfect movie for the season

Kriss Kool

There is an actual movie called NEW YEAR'S EVE

Mezz015

Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei its a good family movie

Marco

I think this new years its important to watch “fruitvale station” with Michael B Jordan. It’s a true story about a young man named Oscar grant who was murdered by a Bay Area Rapid Transit officer in Oakland California New Year’s Day 2009. That sparked many protests here in the Bay Area and even tho it’s been a minute since it happened we are still feeling the effects years later. It would really mean a lot if you would give it a chance… much love, thank you.

Kriss Kool

Should be number 1 choice

Sean G

SXD

Old boy- a korean movie. Your minds will be blown, a must watch movie

Arjan Pelle

I'd like to point out a great new movie that surprised me on Netflix called Carry On. It's a bit of a Die Hard / Phone booth crossover / clone. But the acting is really fine and it's all tightly paced. It's got a holiday setting so if you are up for a bit of suspense, go for it. Traditional movies that are on TV at new year's day around here: Sound of Music (excellent songs), Bridget Jones' Diary, Narnia, Harry Potter.

Kelly Nicole

My favorite New Years Eve movie is literally about New Years Eve and is called “200 Cigarettes” starring Dave Chappelle, Ben and Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, Paul Rudd and so many more. I watch it every year. 🎉

Tony Uthe

Deadpool and wolverine

Brian Anthony

Strange Days is good with Angela Basset and Ralph Fiennes

You guys should watch legends of the fall. Not exactly a new year's film but it's a great one to watch any time. Or maybe Warrior(2011) or Legend(2015).

Mary Merry Berry

200 Cigarettes is the BEST New Year’s movie and has a slew of stars in it, but I don’t know if you can find it because I keep searching it on Amazon digital just to buy for myself and can’t find it. Also When Harry Met Sally but I’m thinking you did that one?

Wezza Rogers

Lethal weapon 2,3,4 The Raid Redemption, Unleashed

Kung-Fubar

The 1987 one or the 2012 one?

Witchfinder General

Captain Ron 1992 (doesn't feature new year but is a New Years day tradition in my house)

Many of the movies people are known have nothing to do with New Years. Two great exceptions: "Waiting to Exhale" and "Sleepless in Seattle" but my choice is "About Time" is a very good movie with the New Year holiday a recurring theme throughout.

Pink Martini AZ

I like this one too. It’s the perfect New Years movie.

Psoup

Fight Club. Perfect new years movie...

Eamonn Locke

End of Days (1999) with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Set on NYE.

The holiday. Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Kate Winslet, Jude Law. So good.

I like 200 Cigarettes too. It’s the perfect New Years movie. I honestly don’t get TV and video today. They always churn out the same stuff over and over and over. Soooo many good movies you never see anymore.

New Year's Eve-2011, has a huge ensemble cast. The Apartment-1960, Romantic entanglements ensue, and drama starts at the company Christmas party that last through New Year's Eve. When Harry Met Sally-1989), Not only a great romantic comedy, it also features one of the most killer New Year's Eve scenes.

Mike Martinez

The Apartment 1960 — It was the based on a musical, “Promises, Promises.” … but not a musical. Great Performances.

The Holiday

LINUS

NEW YEARS MOVIE: - Four Rooms (1995)***** This one takes place at a hotel on New Year's Eve, and each room the bellhop goes into is home to its own mini-movie-within-a-movie by a different director. The filmmakers include Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, and you can see the seeds of some of their other movies — Rodriguez's movie is a heck of a lot like an R-rated version of Spy Kids!
