Bernard wasn't dropping off money, but rather, bringing in the 60 'TracFone' prepaid wireless service cell phones that he had just driven around all over the place buying at a bunch of different stores/spots. Then, as we saw, he was told that another order of 30 "burners" would need to be bought by Monday. Additionally, he did indeed turn in receipts — good call by BJ, who had a keen eye there — which show proof that he is actually purchasing them by way of the proper method, as in precisely how the crew both intended & instructed him to do so. That is, he must buy only a couple/few of them at a time from different stores via various locations, which of course we were also shown.

The mayor (Glen Turman) has come a long way since Cooley High and JD's Revenge.

His name is Peanut. Look at his head.

"Poot" is the moniker of the dealer with the rapidly receding hairline. Said character's government name in the show is "Malik Carr". He was portrayed by actor Tray Chaney. "Poot" was smart playing dead when Marlo's crew of Chris Partlow & Felicia "Snoop" Pearson rolled up on that "crotch rocket". All it took was Marlo telling her "Your turn, girl." So, Marlo & Chris felt "Snoop" was now ready to carry out the job of killing. She gave an enthusiastic response, then proved herself as hard when she fired off what sounded to be approximately 17 total shots, albeit she did somehow miss "Poot" amid the chaos. Had he run away instead of lying down to play possum, so to speak, he probably would have been burnt toast after getting blasted in the back or the like. It was equally wise to send "Snoop" casually sporting girly regalia, cosplaying as part of the ruse. Hence, no one expected that, let alone suspected that she was a gangster while wearing such feminine attire. However, they almost assuredly would have known something was suspicious about the slowly approaching bike creeping up on them if she had been decked out in her usual tomboy style of dress.

Best show ever. I just don't think any show has as much intertwined character development that resonates with me personally. Everybody is vulnerable with real flaws but surviving purely off their smarts playing the cards they were dealt. Omar is a stone-cold killer but operates with a moral compass that makes him truly admirable. Bubbles is a scavenger at the bottom of the food chain but still has fleeting moments where he dreams of a better life for himself. McNulty hurts anybody willing to get close to him but does elite police work and really wants to make a difference. I saw a video of Idris Elba dj-ing at Coachella last weekend, and he was talking with a THICK British accent. Just incredible how menacing he is in this.

Season 4 is my favourite one, you guys are gonna love it.

Season 4 is a game changer. Completely elevates the show beyond regular tv.

Even the humor in this show is written so brilliantly! For instance, first we have "Herc" & some corner boys from "Hamsterdam" playing around with the "Make-A-Face" identikit. Eventually one dude asks, "You got one o' these that does asses?" Then moments later, McNulty (who is a "bit of an asshole") uses the following slur at the Baba Jani Food Market down in Dumfries, Virginia: "Sikh (Seek) and ye shall find."

When Marlo walked out of the club with Devonne after picking her up to get "intimate" with her in his "wip", that was NOT Dennis aka "Cutty" following closely in tow. Remember, Dennis is out of the game, so why would he be tailing/trailing a gangster? All we have been shown of him recently is how he was in the beginning stages of setting up a boxing gym. At any rate, the person keeping a close distance behind Marlo & Devonne was actually Marlo's main muscle/right-hand man/second-in-command, Chris Partlow, which is an ordinary everyday occurrence. After all, Chris is typically on the scope keeping an eye out, as is the tomboy chick, "Snoop". This is due to Marlo always being extremely cautious & suspicious of everyone — and for good reason, at that. That is why, when in the club, Marlo kept asking Devonne who she was there with (she claimed to be with just her gal pals), because he was sniffing out if she was luring him into a setup of some sort. Then, a little bit later, we see Chris nearby the vehicle as the lookout after Marlo & Devonne were done doing the quick deed inside of it in the back seat. Also, take notice of how she immediately made it clearly conveyed that she wanted to see him again the next day to "take some time with it", all while she told him some story about how she would be going away the day after next to go visit her aunt in Florida. She claimed not to be pressing the issue, yet she mentioned having something sweet to think about for the long bus ride afterwards. That is, of course, if they were to hypothetically have a passionate rendezvous together in her bed at her nearby pad, in which apparently the only other resident who lived there was her grandmother. Anyway, y'all may want to bear in mind all of these details for the next time we hear about / see Devonne onscreen in a near future episode, since she was obviously part of a trap for Marlo. Too bad for Avon & his crew, Marlo ain't no dummy. He sent Chris & "Snoop" to the spot early, so as to scope out the scoop. "Snoop" lived up to her name by snooping on the big dude's order for four folks, which she then relayed to Chris. Chris then watched them intently, and just as was sensed by Marlo & Chris, here came Devonne strolling up to the scene earlier than the planned 5 PM meeting time that Marlo had scheduled with her over the phone. Although, as y'all will come to find, almost no one ever shows up earlier than Chris & "Snoop"! Anyhow, Chris saw Devonne give a glance over toward the SUV in which Avon & company were just chilling, which was a signal to them. However, Chris was on top of it from jump. Plus, once he saw one of them toss some food wrapping trash out of the window (literal foil perhaps?), while they all still remained, not leaving the spot, that was when it was solidified as a cemented certainty. In other words, now Chris knew for sure that they were waiting on Marlo to arrive. But before they would ever have an opportunity to attempt an ambush-style attack on Marlo to take him out with abundant amounts of fired-off rounds surely to be shot at him, Chris made his move first. Thus, he became the figurative foil who soiled their whole entire plan. As for Devonne, she had better watch her back by keeping her head on a swivel. After all, Marlo, Chris, "Snoop" & the rest of the "Stanfield Crew", are not ones to mess with — let alone try to swindle, especially unsuccessfully, at that.

I like how McNulty just assumed that the Dumfries cop he was talking to was some racist redneck. He starts bitching about all the black people in Baltimore and telling racist jokes to try and get the guy to like him because they need his help and then he introduces his black wife to him. LOLOL. What an A-hole. "Umm, I think you should meet my partner"

M4RRS

I, for one, found the entire following "scene-quence" to be an amusing anecdotal ordeal overall: McNulty was pretending to be racist about Baltimore being a predominantly black city filled with primarily black people running the show when he was speaking to that local white policeman down south in Dumfries, Virginia. Well, that is, of course until McNulty realized said cop is married to a fellow officer who also just so happens to be a black woman. Then, recognizing that fact, McNulty was obviously aware that he had to instantly backtrack at that point. Thus, he hit the brakes to bring both himself and that kind of conversation to a screeching stop, so to speak, by walking back his previous words. Yet, even so, McNulty still then went on to suggest that the gent go ahead and talk with his partner, Kima, instead, claiming "You'd like her" to him. So, even after halting enough to the extent of stopping himself dead amid his own errant tracks, McNulty still managed to screw up. He did so merely by assuming that another (attractive) black female would suit the officer's fancy, as if to say that somehow such a thing would therefore sway the guy into simply giving them what they wanted in handing over something they were there to obtain all along. "Bit of an asshole" indeed, that McNulty. Also, that was some seriously stellar subtext implemented within the plot there by the writers, as per usual.

Great minds think alike, for I just finished typing & posting a comment referencing that scene, albeit not nearly as succinctly as yourself, since I tend to be far from concise whenever I write.

Stringer was definitely flexing about the D’Angelo situation and he knew Avon wasn’t 💯to do nothing. But he could have shot Stringer but deep down he think the hit was needed 🤷🏾‍♀️! String sonned Avon for once!

Holy crap, I forgot Snoop was in season 3! She is ruthless!😳 Felicia Pearson who plays Snoop was a real life Baltimore gangster, who actually did time in prison before being discovered by the producers for the show.
