Von

Thank you to this VIP 😭 I have a special love for horror reactions

Von

Infested (2024) is another fantastic French horror film

Deep Dives

Oh, why yall do this to poor Asia & BJ?! All them dummies needed to do was smoke some DMT to get a peek to the other side.

Edgar Gonzalez

Never seen this before, brand new to me too!

Eamonn Locke

This one is wild! Thanks VIP!

Christopher Williams

When I click on it to watch "Vimeo" pop ups with a Captcha and says Vimeo won't connect

Suphafly

Omg this film will destroy you! You'll never be the same after this. I'd have told you not to watch it 😅 a great but exhausting, haunting movie

Icylord

movie is disturbing af

Rebecca Karsner

Never seen this. I'm scared... 😬😬😬😬😬 Gonna watch after Sinners tonight! Thanks VIP!!

Tek

When Lucy escaped, she left that woman behind to die. One interpretation is that the woman haunting her, is that woman: a hallucination of her guilty conscience, haunting her for that choice. Lucy thought she could alleviate her guilt through revenge. There are so many interpretations of this movie, especially regarding the ending. Great reaction!

PVaughn

OMG who set y’all up like this 😱😱

Renee B

This is my second time watching this and it's just as disturbing as the first time. This once may stick with ya for a few days. And I belive that is the 1st time i've seen Bj with his own blankie. I think Tek said it best in his explanation. Great reaction.

Renee B

This is a good one but a tough one to watch.

Tom Eyers

It's a great, and provocative, choice (thanks VIP) - but this is a sadistic, unserious film. It's trussed up with some pseudo-philosophical baggage, and I've read (and written on) Bataille, but it's an excuse for torture porn.

Rebecca Karsner

Okay cool!! Gonna watch it today!! Was too tired after Sinners!! Lol

Jay Rivera

First time watch today. Let’s go!! *Dances* 🔥

Tek

Director Pascal Laugier uses a unique visual style and pacing that creates an unsettling atmosphere. The cinematography and sound design add emotional depth, making it more than just a series of gruesome scenes. The film elicits a visceral response that goes beyond mere shock value. I see where you're coming from, but I believe "Martyrs" is more than just torture porn. The film highlights the isolation that can stem from trauma and suffering, while also exploring the potential for connection through shared experiences of pain. It examines how individuals relate to one another in extreme circumstances and raises questions about faith, belief systems, and the lengths people will go to seek answers about the afterlife. Additionally, it delves into the boundaries of human resilience and the psychological impact of extreme experiences. The film challenges viewers to consider what lies beyond our physical existence, the nature of consciousness, and the purpose of suffering...whether it can lead to enlightenment or a greater sense of connection to others. Ultimately, I believe "Martyrs" encourages reflection on deeper truths about the human experience, rather than just relying on shock. That said, your point is well taken.

Jah (jakwiq) (Jah Quick)

Oh damn. Didn't think yall would ever react to this one. This one is real deep and wild. Proud of yall. I'll check yalls reaction later on

Pacman24

movie fucked me up

Tylenol Jones

Bruh who tf recommended this one?? Probably the last movie I ever expected to see here.

Roy🇨🇷

This movie fucked me up the first time I saw it. Great reaction tho!

Bonnie Smith

So.... LOL Ive never seen this movie before. What a wild ride and just.. fascinating (in a weird sense) concept. The main part that truly annoyed me was when she found the hidden area in the cabinet and STILL DIDNT CALL THE COPS?! My goodness, I wanted to scream at the screen lol I feel like BJ was more freaked out than Asia! hahah The expressions on his face throughout were priceless. Oof.. Im a horror fanatic and felt this one was heavier and more shocking than Terrifier (I dont recommend if gore is a no no)

Bonnie Smith

Also kudos for recommending foreign film! LIfe is Beautiful is great Italian movie.

Darth Brooks

This movie is I Spit on Your Grave-ish meets Terrifier-lite. That's the best way I could sum it up, shock value with a message. Y'all be requesting Terrifier for Halloween but idk after this lmfao.

Saints_Madness

lol wow, this film is part of the banned film list. I'm actually surprised you watched something like this. theres more but dont go down the rabbit hole. Trauma, the Girl next door, I spit on your grave, the Green inferno are dark mentions.

caribe hughes

This was definitely different. Disturbing and cool to see a foreign film.

Tek

The rabbit hole to Martyrs, if you wanted to explore, would be the New French Extremity films.

PastaDon

Have you seen "The House That Jack Built" Psychological horror from 2018, with Matt Dillion.. Directed/wrote by Lars von Trier and Jenle Hallund, Uma Thurman has a brief cameo as well.. If your into horror, this some pretty disturbing stuff, but clever writing for analyzing..

Dan Gershgol

This was something else entirely.

swarrrm

I subbed just to see the reaction to this. One of the best horror films imo but a very tough watch. "I need a hug" is exactly how I felt when I first saw martyrs.

girlygirl9983

“Train to Busan” you guys watched, it was a Korean foreign film. All subtitles.

Jon Culi

Yep. The worst one is irreversible, but I can't recommend it. It's truly fucked up

Jon Culi

Yeah same. I saw they reacted to this and was like ok they're reacting to bangers and I subbed

Saints_Madness

I am highly surprised that you watched a film that is considered banned. This film is on the banned films list. The VIP has a surprisingly similar taste that I have but I stopped going down the rabbit hole. I got to one film that kept me awake all night but I went down the list myself. First stage, Deprivation, Second false sense of hope, Humiliation, until her spirit broke. She should have wrapped that chain around one of their throats, she could muster up the strength, I think, for a escape attempt. That must be something they do in real life. Its expressed in V for vendetta as well, remember when V did similar torture methods until she couldn't feel anything anymore as well. Without your skin, you die from hypothermia. Warning, if your delving down the rabbit hole out of curiosity, keep away from Trauma 2017 and A serbian Film 2010. Keep your souls pure. I was raised with horror and curiosity took me to those films. I speak some French so I was understanding a little bit, I still need to keep studying. Yup BJ was right I don't think I ever seen the blanket raised like that as well for as long as I've been riding with you 2. Excellent reaction to this film. I don't watch this at leisure, its more of a film to show friends something messed up or to lure a frightened female into my arms for protection, ha JK. I look forward to some more uploads. Your reactions are a good pass time when I'm relaxing.

Matt F

I'm commenting before I watch this reaction... I have seen this movie before and it left me utterly stunned for months. The fact that you all watch movies like this, both of the newest Evil Dead movies and Hereditary just blows me away because this is some hard to watch stuff for so many people. It's so fun to watch a couple who seem to be on a journey of sorts into movies stumble across hardcore horror and find enjoyment of sorts in it.

D.M. Creger

***spoilers*** The ghost that Lucia saw was the woman she left behind. Her guilt is what killed her.
