Comments

Edgar Gonzalez

Double Upload!!! Ah, City Slickers, have seen both 1&2. I looooove these 90's comedies. I'm jumping into this one after finishing the pianist reaction. MOVIE CAST: Billy Crystal, Jack Palance, Bruno Kirby and Daniel Stern

Eamonn Locke

A childhood favorite! Thanks VIP!

Jay Davis

LOL Talk about polar opposites on the same day! A welcome light fare following the heavy meal. Thank you.

Matt

Thanks David, been trying to get this reacted to for a while.

RollingAcres47

I'm kinda suprised that you never heard of the term City Slicker. Like people that can't cut it out in the boondocks or the rest.

Abel Salas Jr

Awesome, great to see yall watching this. Now yall have to watch City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold. Its more comedy driven.

RollingAcres47

I love Curley....one of my favorite characters.

Bonnie Smith

Yaaay! My childhood dog was named after a character in this film - Mitch, but I called him Mitchey. lol

Jon Kovacs

The 20 year old cashier that Phil got pregnant is Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa Simpson.

Matthew B

THANK YOU!!!! As a GenX, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this classic again with you guys. Marc Shaiman's score is one of the best.

Ms Vanillabean

“Roast too but we ain’t choppin’ up the cow.” 🤣🤣🤣

Randy Ripley

Loved this movie in the 90s. Always thought this was the basis for the Hangover movie, just like Point Break was for the Fast and the Furious movie.

Kevin

Jack Palance, Curly, won his only Oscar for this performance. He was a working actor for 40 years on the big and small screen. By chance, Billy Crystal was the host of the 1992 Oscars and was on stage as Palance won. Ribbing his castmate, he said something like, "Billy Crystal... I crap bigger than him". He then proceeded to do one and two-armed pushups on the spot in front of a global audience. He was 73 years old at the time. Here is Whoopie Goldberg announcing the winner and Mr. Palance's acceptance speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGxL5AFzzMY BTW, Jack had some very stiff competition that year: Harvey Keitel, Tommy Lee Jones, Michael Lerner, and Ben Kingsley.

Neal Moody

Her voice is Lisa Simpson

Bethany

I haven't seen this movie since the 90s, had no idea Jake Gyllenhaal was the little kid lol

Darth Brooks

Oh man I watched this and Curly's Gold so many times growing up. It's time for a blast from the past for me this morning, thank you VIP for this!

Elizabeth DeMerie

Lmao I am a country girl born into a city slicker life! When where you guys in NYC? I would have taken ya out on the town!

Red

For Asia that cow being born was real Billy Crystal talk about it in a interview after the movie

RollingAcres47

Last time I saw this like 5 years ago sounded so fun looked it up and you can go on cattle drive just like this! But obviously, it's controlled for liability purposes. Catered meals along the trail. And it costs a lot.

Poopy McDoodooface

I love this movie. I hadn't seen it in years. Still as good as I remember. Great reactions.

Katie Davis

Such a good one! And yes - the calf birthing was real!

Abel Salas Jr

If you're interested in seeing Jack Palance in his prime, consider watching the classic western Shane and his part as Jack Wilson who is ranked 6th in a list of most evil western characters.

Kevin McCoy

Now you need to watch a serious, earlier version of this with John Wayne and Bruce Dern called THE COWBOYS. Great movie.

Andrew Martinez

As a kid in the 90s , I didn't get the hype. Now rewatching it close to my 40s holy cow does this movie hit me so much right now.

Claudette

The calf delivery scene was just a puppet. They didn't really have Billy Crystal shove his hands inside a cow. But the calf you see is indeed a real calf. Thanks for the movie selection, David!

Debbie Green

Oh my goodness! I haven’t seen this in years!!! Thanks y’all!

Emily Morris

Jake Gyllenhaal is Billy's son!

RollingAcres47

I believe Curly genuinely liked Mitch from the start.

David Croft-Ogawa

Thank you for another great movie choice, David!

Leslie

I agree! I think I saw part two first when I was a kid and liked it, then went on to watch part one later in life and didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first one.

Born and raised in Tampa Florida. I’m a little disappointing that you guys don’t want to come here. But you’re right, it’s hot, very hot & mosquitoes are a huge problem. Even though I’m disappointed, I understand completely. I still have nothing but love for you two.

Bluebell: 🎶The best country in the ice cream 🎶

Dan Gershgol

Still a great movie after all these years.

RollingAcres47

Curly is the real deal old school cowboy. Proper manners and proper decorum. Anything less and he can end you in an instant.

Lauren Silva

What if the calf was a dairy cow you'd have free milk

Michele Pérez

The song that was playing RAWHIDE. Is from a 1959 country western series that starred a 28 year-old Clint Eastwood. That was the theme song. The show went by the same name.

Factory farming and the dairy industry inflict so much pain and suffering other sentient being. I’m a retired Animal Abuse Investigator. I was able to prosecute people who inflicted pain and suffering. Tortured and tormented dogs and cats and other small animals. I have MS. At one point in time I was taking a lot of medication, including an injection every day. Decided to change my diet thinking that it might help me reduce the amount of medication I was taking . I had always struggled with my weight. While researching different ways to eat, I came across the all plant-based diet. Researching that led me to factory farming in the dairy industry in the chicken industry, the egg & chicken industry. While researching it & encountering multiple videos of what actually goes on. I thought to myself that the people that work in these industries/facilities need to be to jail/behind bars. I also came to the realization, that humans are the most dangerous animal on the planet. I decided to try a plant-based diet. By doing so, I was able to reduce my pills from 14 to 8 & I no longer have to give myself an injection. And I lost over 50 pounds.
