Another banger

Mikey Sea

Good movie. Thanks!

Rio Mendoza

Wow! In the middle of watching Harry Potter I get a notification with another film upload. And it's a movie I actually love. Thank you guys so much. As soon as I'm done with Harry Potter I'm going to put on the talented Mr Ripley. You guys are on fire with your film uploads. I'm loving it

Dustin

YES!!! You two are so awesome! And a big thanks to whomever requested this! I was right in the middle of watching Harry Potter and had to switch over to this movie. It's one of my all time favorites and I think it's arguably Matt Damon's best acting performance. Thanks for this one! I'm going to love watching this with you and I hope you like it!

Andi Szilagyi

Man haven't watched this movie in forever

Rich

Nice! Smashing the Matt Damon films out. Do Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back next!

Rebecca Karsner

Haven't seen this in awhile!! Can't wait to dive in with you guys!! Thanks for another upload!! Idk if you guys are still in Italy, but if so I hope you're having the time of your lives!!! 😁✌️🙏

Davey11

I hope you guys continue the rest of the Bourne Trilogy soon 🙏

Sivan

Tom Ripley is a psychopath, but I think he refuses to see himself as he truly is, so he’s trying to create an identity for himself. He’s a creature of opportunity, and Dickie was a jackpot of an opportunity.

Michele G

Jude Law is so 😍 I love this movie. The only movie where Matt Damon gives me the creeps !! lol. He’s much a good actor !!

Phoenix

Great choice VIP request. thank you guys that's 2 to watch today now!

Phoenix

If you do that? Then you've gotta do Dogma next lol

Teri

It was a good movie. Mat Damon played the role well. Creepy role for him though.

Meet Joe Black, BigFish, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button...Etc...Zero interest in Harry Potter. Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Deadwood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Wonder Years etc...

Great little jem of a flick. My dad and I dig this movie. Every time it comes on our pay channels, my husband and I always laugh when Dickie tells him he’s BORING. Because Tom Ridley is indeed a boring, creepy little leech.

Dustin

Glad you liked it, A & B! I had to crack up a bit at your reactions; BJ just sitting there like "nope..." and Asia's expression shifting between OMG! and WTF?! Classic. 😆 Anyhow, I love how creepy this movie is. It has just the right amount of tension and suspense. And the acting is all superb. I think the movie was nominated for several Oscars, including a best supporting for Jude Law. The movie pulls heavily from a French film called Plein Soleil which has many of the same artistic themes and framing and is also based on the same book from 1955 by an author named Patricia Highsmith. She has some really good books, for those interested. There is actually 5 books in her Tom Ripley series. Another of these books was made into a movie called RIPLEY'S GAME starring John Malkovich (Teddy "KGB" in Rounders) as Ripley. It's also quite good. They are also in works to make a television series called RIPLEY that follows the murderous adventures of Tom Ripley. And Asia,... Matt Damon did indeed both sing and play the piano in this movie. That was really him singing!

Great info! I knew this was based on a book and I was always curious to read it. But I didn’t know it was a series of books!

Ross Johnston

A & B, Thank you so much for the reaction. Priceless reactions, as always. Asia, you nailed it on Freddie! I love watching movies with you guys. I really hope you enjoyed this Academy Award nominated film that many folks don’t know about. Matt Damon is freaky as f**k, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law….amazing roles. I hope other folks enjoy this movie. Love y’all!!! —-Ross

Reactions were great -I cracked up A bit to. Asia looking dead on balls frighted and BJ looking perplexed trying to figure it out. They both knew the story before I ever did. I absolutely love y’all! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and New Year. May your New Year’s resolutions come true my friends!

Sivan

Have you seen Interstellar?

Michele G

I don’t think so. Is that with Matthew mcConaghey ?

JBGirlNextDoor

This was good. I have never really watched it all the way through. Has anyone suggested Boardwalk Empire as a series? Thanks as always A&B ❤️

Mary Merry Berry

Great movie choice, great reaction! When this movie was being filmed both Gwyneth Paltrow (Margie) and Cate Blanchett (Meredith) were nominated for best Actress Oscars (GP for Shakespear in Love and CB for Elizabeth - both great films) and Gwyneth won -I always wondered if it was awkward to go back to work together afterward. Cate went on to win 2 acting Oscars herself. This had such a great cast! Jude Law was such a cutie back then - I love him in this and the Christmas movie the Holiday (already putting in my bid for Christmas 2024 lol).

Mary Merry Berry

I LOVE Boardwalk Empire - such a great series!

Dan Gonya

I'd never seen this before and I must have missed something cuz I was gonna say that I thought that the impersonations would play a bigger role in this, but maybe I missed a scene or something. Mr Ripley seems like he could grow up into Hannibal Lecter.

Dan Gershgol

Wow. A Matt Damen movie I haven't seen. RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Asia’s face most of this movie is “what a weirdo”

One of the greatest films ever

Andy H.

When Dickie was saying "Mongie," he was referring to leaving the village they were living in, Mongibello.
