Sapporo Dragon

Finally! So glad you decided to watch this one. I live just five minutes away from NASA Langley. I really hope you get around to watching Chernobyl and McFarland USA soon. Both of them are incredible stories based on true events.👍🏻

Dan63

Excellent movie!! Period

Mezz015

I hope one of the next movies you two watch is Batman from 1989 the very first version of the dark Knight and the first dark version of the joker on screen

Sapporo Dragon

Wait a minute, you have not seen the Curious Case of Benjamin Button yet??? How is this possible?😮😳 Oh, and to complement this movie you need to watch the Green Book. J/s

Angelfish Luva

I JUST looked for this on your page not even 2 hours ago.. Damn you guys ARE good!!! :}

Rio Mendoza

Love love this film. Thank you guys so much. Feels like this are so important for young people. I think more things like this should be taught in history.

rtt143

Hoping you would react to this movie, thank you

George Bakis

What a history lesson. Just as good as the documentaries.

Rio Mendoza

Does anyone know if they are going to continue with the planet of the apes films?

Bill B.

This movie was amazing!!!

Bill B.

Also, Black History Month Recommendation: GLORY. Civil War film, Denzel, Morgan Freeman, Matthew Broderick. Amazing film. True story.

Bill B.

CHERNOBYL would be a nice dip back into a TV series but not a long series. I think there are a total of 5 or 6 episodes. Absolutely amazing show, highly recommend!

Jesse

Great flick yo. True unsung heroes. Catching up on other great reaction stuff you guys posted but this is the next in line. Thanks again Asia, BJ and Fam. 💙☮️🚀

Jesse

I can’t believe I just got around to watching that for the first time just a few months ago, although I probably saw some parts of it here and there over the years. I second that recommendation. Truly great flick yo.

David Croft-Ogawa

Absolutely love your reactions. When I saw that movie I couldn’t wait to buy it. Those three heretofore unsung heroines were such amazing women in our history. ❤️

Rio Mendoza

The smile and the pride Asia had on her face during this whole film was amazing. I can't imagine how much pride you felt being just like the intelligent black women in this film. You looked totally inspired by these women and practically had a smile on your face almost the entire film. So glad you guys chose to react to this it's a wonderful story and a wonderful film thank you

Rebecca Karsner

Yes!!! Love this film! The timing of this is perfect! Taraji, Octavia, and Janelle are amazing. I stand with Taraji with her speaking out against the industry. Pay people fairly. Period. It's so sad that we see these stories of how unfair black people have been treated in our country and we think it's just history and everything is better. It's not. Hollywood won't change unless WE make it change.. so everybody please go and support diverse films, foreign films, and films that showcase different cultures!! Please!! 🙏 Didn't mean to turn that into a PSA lolol Thank you Asia and BJ for reacting to this very important film 🙏🙌🥰

Rebecca Karsner

I hope so!! Do you like the newer ones? I'm a sucker for animal movies. I've seen the original and I think from a production level it's great.. I just am not a fan of Charlton Heston.. I don't like something he did when he was in the NRA. And it's not that he's in the NRA either lol.. I'm not a "let's take away everyone's guns" person lol.. just had to say that in case people come for me lolol

Rebecca Karsner

About to watch!! I love that though!!! ☺️

Rio Mendoza

It's such a great movie and such a great reaction I really hope you enjoy it

Rio Mendoza

Oh I'm sure you have you seen it you seem to have impeccable taste with films. Enjoy the reaction. It's a good one

George Bakis

Black History Month 2 Sidney Poitier Films. A PATCH OF BLUE B&W. IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT COLOR.

Melissa

This is a great movie - one of those stories I wish had been told when I was young. I can’t wait for my daughter to be old enough to watch it.

Dan Gonya

My mom and I watched this movie every time we saw it on. Great true story, great acting, and overall a lovely movie. I always loved Taraji P Henson on Person of Interest, and Octavia Spencer is awesome in everything!!

Dan Gonya

Seconded for In the Heat of the Night!

Pink Martini AZ

Isn’t this one a special jem? I love great dramas like this. Her senior boss said it best when he told Paul, “Either we all get there together or we don’t get there at all.” That was the whole point of it all. Another fantastic true story movie about space is October Sky. For more black history theme movies I love one other commenters suggestion for Green Book. It’s a great film and Another true story about breaking the barriers as well as friendship. A few other favorites of mine are Finding Forrester and Antwon Fisher. They are both more modern day but they both have that Good Will Hunting vibe and are fantastic films.

Darth Brooks

Great movie can't wait to watch y'alls reaction to it. Inspiring, and historically powerful storytelling. Not to mention Taraji P Henson and Janelle Monáe 😍 home in 2 hours✌❤ fam! Edit* fantastic reaction, loved it. Taraji's emotion in the scene when she finally says her peace coming out of the rain from the restroom always hits hard A+++.

Web For Future INC

Asia & BJ, now it is certainly time you did watch the extraction 1 and 2, and the rest of the 3 remainin Jason Bourne sseries, and this movie as well https://eminem.wtf/qip ;) Thanks for amazing reactions. And there are always 3 modern war movies based on true stories/events, Lone Survivor, Sniper (Kyle US sharp shooter, Cooper plays him, Clint Eastwood direct, and 13 Hour In Benghasi is amazing and as well true story. And if you want a good modern and as good to as true the CIA operates start the Jack Ryan 4 season and wont come more now, last season was before christmas, incredible Cast, and nothing like the older movies, this is worked together with the army and cia and their black ops.Its one of the best tv shows ive seen in my 25 years working for the goverment.

George Bakis

Strange we were taught this in 6th grade a parochial school K thru 8. When this movie surfaced I realized this is only the second time in my lifetime I came across this story.

meadow anderson

golly i love this movie!! & i've never cried watching it before but seeing the look on asia's face had me tearing up! and i feel so happy for katherine. she went from not being taken seriously and not even being able to use the same coffee pot to being awarded the medal of freedom by the first black president, that must of been an incredible feeling for her. she only recently died in 2020 at age 101, she lived an incredible life <3

Jenny B

So happy to see you guys react to this phenomenal film. Asia you had the reaction I would expect. I’ve seen this movie multiple times and cry just as hard every time. The acting is amazing, and the story itself is inspiring. BJ, standing ovation well received. Cheers!

Andi Szilagyi

I can't think how many times I've watched this movie since it was released. The book it's based on is wonderful. I don't know the ages of your children, but there's a kid's version of the book as well! Thanks for having this on your page, and Asia you have such a beautiful smile, it was a great addition to this story!

Awilda Luciano

Great Great Reaction! Another awesome, inspirational movie is “Men of Honor” which is also based on a true story, starring Robert DeNiro and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Lady Shar

Such a great movie, so many tears! I cry every time

Dan Gershgol

Loved this movie ever since going to see it with my mom. I hope you add apollo 13 to the list. Its a must watch. Also, Men of Honor.

Rio Mendoza

Andreas

Please do a reaction about Bohemian rhapsody and sleepers you´ll love it believe me.Love from germany

Susie L

I'm so glad you reacted to this movie! I cried through this the first time I watched it myself. I had no idea this history existed. This movie proved to me why representation is so important. How much encouragement so many girls in STEM would get from this movie! For context I attended a well-known engineering college in the early 90's and was usually the only female in the higher level math and science courses. I took the last semester they offered on Fortran 77 before they switched to just teaching C, so that was a trip when I saw Dorothy learning Fortran. If I had seen this movie back then or known of these ladies story it would have given me such a boost of confidence. I'm not saying I had anywhere near the hardships these women had to deal with, but I did hear petty remarks. I was never invited to join but had to insinuate myself in projects and lab groups. I would offer solutions only to be ignored, and then later would bite my lip when I heard someone repeat what I had said 5 minutes prior and then have to hear them enjoy the praise of finding the solution. (okay, I'm ranting...maybe I'm still a little bitter 30 years later)

Pop_Pop_Taq

OMG I was with you this was my first time seeing this movie as well. Learned some great history and seeing the struggle. WOW this is my top three favorite movies instantly. Great reaction you two and believe me I was right there with you!

Rebecca Karsner

I love her too!! Do you know the story about her and Keanu Reeves?

Lori

I am THRILLED you've chosen this amazing film. Now...you MUST do yourselves a favor, especially during Black History Month, and watch/share "Green Book". More history, Great cast, incredible, incredible movie!!! Please!

Irby

Awsome movie, I grew up and live next to Nasa Langley and actually got to work on the building the dedicated to Katherine Johnson and most of the buildings you see in the movie are still there.

Lori

In 2015, Katherine Johnson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. In 2016, at the age of 98, she was hosted by NASA to see this movie at a special screening. Katherine passed away in 2020, at the age of 101. 🩵

Lori

I LOVED the look on your face throughout this movie, Asia. You'll feel all those same sad, happy, fearful, hopeful, and proud feelings again if you PLEASE watch "Green Book". ✌️🩷

Donna Bannister

Thankyou!!!! for this awesome movie and equally for y'all's beautiful reaction!!!❤️🔥❤️🔥loved everything my fam💯

Lori

I'd forgotten about Men of Honor! An absolute must see!

Von

A FANTASTIC BLACK HORROR MOVIE IS 'HIS HOUSE' ON NETFLIX!!

Abby

Totally random: but you should totally watch CHEF! It’s a great comedy!!

precious926

Excellent reaction and so much fun watching this with y'all!!

Lori

Lawd Lawd! How did I ever forget to suggest "Lady Sings The Blues" as another EXEMPLARY film to watch/share during Black History Month? Staring Diana Ross and Richard Pryor, this film tells the powerful story of Billie Holiday, her rise, her talent, struggles with a lifelong addiction to heroin and alcohol. A masterpiece!!

sharkey197

I loved watching this movie with you, although I must admit that too often what I felt was anger. Anger at the blind and stupid prejudice that would have kept these women, whose brilliant minds were so extraordinary, from reaching their potential and would have also resulted in a great loss for all of humanity. This is where the true greatness of film can really change our outlook on things. I never heard of these women until this movie came out and yet their contribution was so enormous to the space program. Thank goodness their achievements have been recognized at last. And let us just hope that going forward other talented people of color and other minorities will not be hindered by truely ridiculous and hateful attitudes. Watching this with you was a privilege.

Jodi Glasser

This is such a great movie! Teraji, Octavia and Janelle portrayed those characters so well. Another great movie that Teraji was in recently (I believe it was in 2019), is called The Best of Enemies. She starred in that alongside Sam Rockwell (the guy from The Green Mile, who killed the little girls).

Matthew Stewart

Speaking of movies named "Brad Pitt" lol there are movies called "Being John Malkovich" and "Keanu" (only a cameo done by Keanu Reeves as a cat). Probably other ones too just can't think of them.

Raider Ron

First time I saw this movie I was blown away and proud of these black beautiful women and sad for what they had to endure. People are people no matter what color.

George Bakis

Interesting that I remember learning about these ladies in 6th Grade at my Parochial school. Then the next time was couple decades later in a couple of documentaries. Finally when I saw the debut of a film called Hidden Figures and realized this has to do with what I learned back in the day.

Angel Kendall

yay I'm late...but I've been waiting for this reaction

Stan Ross

Good Black History Month movie… knew about these ladies for years!! very inspiring me being a Math and Physics Guy!!!

Michele Pérez

You just said it BJ. You knew nothing about these women. Hence the title of the movie Hidden Figures. I knew nothing about these women either. I’m so glad this movie was made.

jami hicks

I hope yall show this movie to your kids! Great story!

Brina Blue

One of the things that I thought of was just how exceptional the rest of those women in the room must have been just to have been there! I know the other 17 out of the 20 that Dorothy supervised weren't the focus of the story, but they all would have been the brightest in math in their class. They would all have faced issues with being the only woman in the most advanced classes and in many cases had to fight to be allowed to take them at all. It was a whole room filled with excellence!

Saints_Madness

Wow that was a good movie, the first time watching it, all the way through, with you two. It was a bit irritating how people use to treat each other and that was 28 years before I was born. But it was a good movie about 3 women rising in their skillset. I like movies that are based on true stories like A beautiful Mind and Schindlers list.

Eric

Reminder to everyone: Our current administration would prefer to KEEP stories like this hidden, under the umbrella of DEI. Just like they want to ban many books etc. Stay vigilant everyone !
