Song

So great! Thank you for this! I just want to be clear that Love Story of a Girl is a song by Min Hae Kyung, a Korean singer (the woman in the video) My mom just used to sing it all the time because many Chinese singers also sang versions of it. For a long time, Korean music wasn’t allowed here, but singers still translated and performed. Things are much different these days which I am glad for.

'love story of a girl' is one of the few performances that got me geniunely teary-eyed and i love it so, so much.

I love Backwoods and their performance makes me cry every time, but I don’t understand how that was their only win on all their appearances, and it was only a Part 1 win. Mamamoo on Immortal Songs is just something else, absolutely fantastic

That is very surprising! I haven’t seen the other artists’ performances so I can’t judge but all of Mamamoo’s performances have been AMAZING

Yay I was hoping you would spot Red Velvet! Fun fact: MAMAMOO and Red Velvet are close and have been for many years since they debuted a few months from each other. People like to call them MAMA Velvets LOL. Moonbyul and Seulgi are especially close. They have a song together, were in a couple of reality shows together, and have a friends group together with Oh My Girl’s Hyojung and April’s Naeun in which they call themselves Egg Yolk. Another fun fact is about the legend singer from the second video. She mentioned she loves to sing MAMAMOO songs when she goes to karaoke and loves singing Piano Man. I love it that at this point in MAMAMOO’s career, they were already recognized and respected by their seniors.

thats so awesome! Not only the MAMA Velvet stuff but also the legendary singer singing Mamamoo songs! Especially Piano Man, probably still my favorite Mamamoo song lol

The other woman who sang in the chorus of Backwoods was singing in a Korean traditional way of singing called pansori/gugak. It's a very interesting way of singing/storytelling.

07:33 Even the backup singer was so impressed by Mamamoo's harmonization.
