A random thought while watching this… It won’t be a 1 to 1 but imagining “what if a woman said that to YOU” rather than “what if YOU said that to a woman” might be a bit more useful parallel when Shane or Ilya say things like ‘get on your knees’ or ‘you have a good mouth’ to each other… There’s sort of an implied or assumed structural and societally informed power imbalance with a different quality in most mixed gender dating situations that easily picks up disturbing or concerning undertones. If one guy says something like “get on your knees” to another guy there’s usually way less of a subconscious assumption that one of them is going to be significantly stronger, more powerful, or more violent than the other so uneasy concerns of possible coercion, sexual violence, misogyny, etc. are much less likely to bubble up unintentionally in the undertones of light verbal role play and/or banter. Taking a break from the exhaustion of dealing with this everpresent real-world dynamic is also one of many reasons some women cite for preferring reading/watching M/M romance to M/F romance. When both main characters are on a relatively even playing field a lot of things just feel less stressful to many. Like would Scott’s ‘can I be too intense’ scene or the serial killer jokes before the first date have worried you a tiny bit more for Kip if Kip had been a short, extremely petite woman instead of a completely jacked male rugby player capable of easily carrying Scott across the room?

very fair and intelligent points. and i see what you mean and id assume for most men if a woman said that itd be great, for me i would absolutely hate it tho. ill keep your point in my mind going forward! :) thank you!
