Hopefully you will be able to comment on episode five before jumping into six. Like to see your thoughts on each episode right after watching. Then move onto six. Hope that makes sense. 🙂

We came for the Rivalry, but we stayed for the Honesty, Sam.

Gotcha Jaye. Episode 5 will receive as much attention and after analysis as it requires. i wont be rushing anything haha

St. Thomas Scholarship, for which Scott appears to be a spokesman, or fundraiser at least, clearly a Catholic organization. They would also not be happy to find out Scott is gay.

I'm very excited to see your reaction to episodes 5 and 6. Please let us know if and how your opinion of ep.3 changes. Thanks, as always, for your honest and impressive videos!

Sammy

I really enjoy your reactions because they feel genuine, and I appreciate that you’re willing to share your honest thoughts. I understand the frustration however, I think people sometimes forget that coming out isn’t always simple, especially when you’re in a high-profile career that involves sponsors, public scrutiny, and organizations that may have different values. In Hunter’s case, his career and the organization that helped him develop are all part of that reality. While North America is often seen as more progressive, there are still people who are very loud, hostile, and harmful toward the LGBTQIA+ community. Anyways, I really enjoy your reactions, and I’m off to watch your Episode 4 and Episode 5 reactions!

Robbie GK who plays Kip is a rugby player in real life that's why he's so shredded lmfao

Mike

I felt the same about this episode until I saw later how it fits into the overall story. And, Everybody is shredded because the director is a gay man that gets to choose cast....lol

Maria

Definitely frustrating. For one I didn’t like the disconnection from Shane and Ilya. Second, as a book reader first I knew what Scott and Kip story means for Ilya and Shane, but I didn’t need an entire episode focused on them. Also, I didn’t feel the connection between the actors as much. Interestingly, many enjoy this chapter more than the first two. Probably, because the story is easier to follow and is in a way wholesome. I like the dynamics between Shane and Ilya more. It’s gritty, fun and frustrating. And every step they take in their relationship feels like a huge win. Unless it’s a step backwards, then I’m bawling. Thanks for the honest reactions.

Sam Ham

Ya i was surprised people like them as much as they did. Shane and Ilya is for me a richer more complex relationship

Sam Ham

Makes sense! But even for a rugby player hes shredded. Usually those boys are big and not too concerned about body fat

Sam Ham

Hahaha thats fair I guess

You are the very first man I’ve seen react to not immediately fall head over heals for Scott and Kip. It’s honestly very refreshing. Most men, both gay and straight, seem to like the power dynamic between these two characters… it’s more “normal” I guess.. idk… this episode always frustrated me because there were compromises that could have been made. If they were just 10% more creative they could have been happy. Kip could have told his dad, Scott could have met his dad, the friends from the kingfisher as well.. they’re queer. They get it. They could keep quiet for a while. And yes to the art gallery… Jesus Christ… Kip could have been his interior designer or better yet, no explanation needed! Anyway, I understand why they did it this way for that big episode 5 pay off and it totally worked. It was just nice to see someone else finally be so annoyed with Scott! lol.

I agree with all of what you said about Scott just needing to have the courage to be who he is and how frustrating that was for you. The other side of it is that he's in a sport where homophobic slurs are used as insults, no one is out and it's still viewed as being unacceptable to be gay. As his speech shows, his hockey life is everything to him, it's his family and he feels that coming out would potentially blow all of that up. I get that side of it as well. This episode is important to the series, but I almost always skip it when I do a rewatch.
