Finally finished — my heartfelt thanks to the anonymous client. 😙

This piece is a sincere tribute to The Passion. The client offered many details that helped me grasp the depth of what such a moment might have meant.

Though the punished figures appear nude, there’s no erotic intent. The central character represents no one in particular; it is simply a portrayal of the act of punishment itself.

As someone outside the faith, I can only approach this with respect and humility. Still, I know that themes like this are never handled perfectly, and I welcome any thoughts from those who see it differently.

A brief story behind the work:

The lion slave shown here was accused of murdering his master. Even if many believed he was forced to bear the blame, he still had to face the sentence.
