Window Sitting in the Banishment Room | Sacred Symbols, Episode 329

Dustin is still roaming aimlessly around Japan (he'll be back next week), and the news has been slow in our beloved industry, leaving me (Colin) and Chris up to our own devices. And yet, there are still a few interesting tidbits to discuss. For starters, PS5's Astro Bot is getting weekly -- and totally free -- content over the next month-plus, while the Until Dawn film has been given an April '25 release date for its arrival in theaters as rumors surrounding a sequel to the 2015 game continue to percolate. Plus: Helldivers 2 received another major update, Sony revealed an in-person PlayStation concert series, Dino Crisis is locked to PS+ Premium for some reason, and Bandai Namco is reportedly exploring headcount reductions leveraging a shady Japanese corporate tradition: Oidashibeya, an evolution of another tactic called madogiwazoku. Listener inquiries tie things up on the back end, per usual. If Donald Trump wins the presidency, will gaming consoles in America be strapped with a tariff? Colin if you are a fan of Apex Theory you need to check out the band Mt. Helium, it’s all the band members from Apex Theory minus the singer, the guitar player takes over vocal duties. It’s as good if not better than topsy turvy in my humble opinion.

What's up butternuts? I was really happy to hear you two talking about the issues surrounding UE5. I've been dubious of it for a while now. A small YT channel Threat Interactive does a good job of breaking down why it has issues and how it teaches bad/lazy techniques to game devs. From missing tools used in the past for efficiency to the engine basically requiring temporal AA (a technique that uses past frames to fix jagged lines in the current frame, also likely the cause of your shimmering issue) for every game using it due to the way it works. This is a major issue that has a chance to be a plague on the industry few are talking about or even see coming. I hope you investigate it further, maybe a + ep? You can help bring these issues to the forefront of conversation in the industry.

Silent Hill 2 quality mode fixes all those lighting and flickering issued so PS5 Pro should be able to have the visuals of quality mode at 60fps hopefully

Colin, Order of Eclasia is not the first of the DS trilogy nor did it release in 2005, that would be Dawn of Sorrow. You may have went out of order in the collection due to Order of Eclasia being listed as the first title on the main menu.
