Welcome back red, blue and purple people, to another episode of Constellation. This week on LSM's conversational podcast, we're getting a little bit political. Now that the 2024 presidential election is behind us and the results are in, Colin, Jaffe and Dagan discuss the outcome, the winners and losers and what it all might mean as the world hurtles into 2025. Is the gang feeling optimistic, cynical, hopeful, bitter, angry or worried in the face of these imminent changes? Regardless of your political stripe we hope you enjoy the conversation, and thanks so much as always for tuning in!

Let’s gooo 😅

Matthew Major

Cant wait thank you all for doing this episode. Have a great day everybody!!

Austin Lipka

Loved the orally gifted joke lmao

Born-Blind

Oh this should be fun... as a lifelong registered Independent I had to sit this one out this time... Though I was deeply worried about the direction the country would go in with another state sponsored puppet administration.

Skeet Dorr

the way Colin talks lately makes him sound like he takes everything super personally

Kenny C

I haven't been this interested in America since 9/11

Beau

Anytime the election was discussed prior to this episode Jaffe seemed wildly confident Kamala was going to win. Maybe he was just trying to speak it into existence but I would always leave the episode wondering WTF polls or data he was looking at. Everything I saw was either tied or slight edge to Trump.

Austin Lipka
>>155007452

I thought the same thing until I realized it appears he only gets that heated when he genuinely believes or even knows the other person is 100% wrong. Jaffe is a perfect example of that.

Directional Joy

Jaffe is blushed up because he is embarrassed by the political system. I am like Colin, do you (in whatever way that is).

Ryan Witte

Lol Jaffe doesn't understand the difference between getting on your knees to further your career--She wouldn't have been on the ballot (Big Domino) if she hadn't fucked Willie Brown(Little Domino)--vs being a serial philanderer (DJT).

Chris King

Proudly voted for Trump, I fail to see any legitimate reason to have voted for Kamala but respect the opinions of others and wouldn't go as low as calling them garbage

Kevin

I believe it's like 11million less people voted for Harris then Biden in 2020.

Ryan Witte

Colin leaves out the most important thing about that volleyball player: He spiked the ball and caused permanent brain damage to a woman.

Walrus4300

No Chris and gene? Gonna have to be a part 2…

iain mcmanus

The kamala apologetics is hilarious. She is the worst candidate in the history of the United States. The maga base love trump and think he's a great candidate. I'm glad colin finally pulled the lever for Donald

Bumbuman

No offense, but Colin and co have very American centric points of view that makes them quite ignorant. Look across the world. This year has simply been one of the worst years for incumbents across Western democracies across the planet. Any party that’s in power during the post COVID era inflation got blamed for it by their people (rightly or wrongly) and got kicked out or lost a lot of power. Just look at Japan’s LDP losing power after holding it for 15 years, rise of far right parties like AfD in Germany and France toppling establishment parties, Rishi Sunak in the UK bowing out, political instability in Israel. The elections in Japan ain’t exactly about trans people or free speech. Tl;Dr: It’s 99% economic, everything else is downstream from there.

iain mcmanus

I'm so emotionally invested in jaffe being wrong about the election it makes me so happy that he lost

Brian Comstock

Trump was a “weak” candidate? You guys still don’t get it do you?

Keenan

Colin you don’t give Trump enough credit for changing the republican party for the better. The John McCain/Mitt Romney Republican Party was an absolute disgrace… Trump turned the party into an anti war and working class party that can actually win elections.

Halph Pint
>>155029773

Also the idea that Colin didn't vote for Harris because she was a "vessel" is just....strange. She's a generic democrat, yes. She had policies that attempted to help the working class (IE: the vast majority of Trumps ignorant voters) and neither she nor Biden has any control over inflation....its world wide...and we handled it better than any other country on Earth. She was doomed because she was associated with Biden...but the idea that Trump now post January 6th, with no guard rails and immunity from the SCOTUS is a "known quantity" is just absurd. Add in Project 2025 which is what the plan is just comes off extremely uninformed....Trump should have been a no-go based on principles alone, let alone his project 2025 nightmare agenda.

iain mcmanus
>>155036089

Colin thinks desantis who has zero charisma would have won even more. Trump is uniquely suited to this time and place politically. It needed to be him

Andre Watt

In 2016, I gave the right the benefit of the doubt for wanting to rebel against a corrupt and elitist government. After this election, I will never believe what a right winger has to say. I will always assume they are arguing in bad faith. You voted for a man who knew he lost an election and tried to overturn it. The same people who have the Constitution tattooed on them, the same party talking about law and order, the same party that would lose their minds if the left did even a fraction of what Trump did. Oh, but Kamala is an 'empty vessel.' You're not even trying to sound reasonable anymore, so there's no more reasoning to be had. Enjoy the tariffs. Now watch as the price of eggs and everything else all of a sudden doesn't matter anymore. lol.

Bumbuman
>>155029773

I think the Dems fucked up by winning 2020. They should have let Trump handle the ramifications of all that COVID inflationary spending and demand and have Americans realise how pathetic he was as President. He’d be the next George Bush fuck up. But at the end of the day, America still has its democracy. It was able to vote in Trump, vote out Trump and then vote him in again. The people are responsible for what happens to their government and nation. That’s the hallmark of Western freedom. Guess where incumbents are still in power and the people aren’t free? Shitty dictatorships like Russia, North Korea and China.

Seth
>>155040635

"I will never believe what a right winger has to say" What are you on about? All of the media on the left told you this was a close race, they told you Trump is literally Hitler, they gaslit the holy fucking hell out of the entire population for 4 months straight. (Really the last 8 or 9 years about Trump.) He lost an election and said, "Peacefully protest". There are agent provocateurs (Not denied whatsoever in Congress deposition) throughout the crowd during Jan 6th. The left has gaslit you and lied to you to the point of completely disconnecting you from reality. Trump supporters all know that we are taking a risk, but we truly believe that the same ol endless spending, endless wars, endless poisoning of our people, endless industrial complexes, and controlling so much of our everything as the country slips further and further towards death. Something has to give before it all falls. This is why we voted for Trump. Just try and cheer up, don't hate your fellow man. Everything will be fine as it always is.

Seth
>>155036986

Dude 100% the stuff Trump is saying now would never fly with any political party 10 years ago. Romney, Obama, Clinton, Kerry, Gore, Bush, McCain were all being controlled by whoever has been pushing Biden's wheelchair the last 4 years

Seth
>>155036089

Desantis is okay but mostly a political hack who would fall right in line with Neocon politics and the deep state control. (In fairness this is exactly what Trump did in 2016). It's wild Trump wasn't even trying to win the election pre assassination attempt. That is the moment when Trump turned on. And I think he knows they attempted to kill him and he came back with a vengeance and it seems like he is doing anything in his power to destroy the people who did this to him and our country. (That or he swindled us and the same person who is pushing Biden's wheelchair will still be in charge as he/she has been since 1963.

Seth
>>155029773

Stop talking about Jan 6, Trump told the people to protest "Peacefully". There were also agent provocateurs riling up the crowd and telling them to break into the capital. Nancy Pelosi didn't take the National Guard offer and left the capital undefended intentionally which gave them talking point for 2024 you are miming now. It's crazy to me that people on the left still believe everything they hear on mainstream news. I suppose I get it, the world of 1984 and complete delusion is terrifying, but it's here. We can only hope and pray for the best. It's going to get ugly quick in the next 50 years.

Seth
>>155028826

She was absolutely the worst candidate of all time. The crazy thing was how well she still did given she had 0 platform. Shows the true power of the propaganda state.

Seth
>>155018564

I think the biggest reason people vote for Kamala is because they see the scary and nightmarish gathering of any people by a large government and deporting them is extremely scary and outweighs any other issue. The problem with that feeling is that it ignores the entire history of the issue, the American's being impacted and pretty much any other view outside of this one view worldview.

Ryan Hayman

This was one of my favorite podcasts in a while. Thanks guys.

ChristianLikeTheReligion

I’m just so flabbergasted by Jaffe. What LGBT rights are under attack? You keep fear mongering and you just don’t get it. I’m Mexican and I voted Trump. Now look at he progressives telling us we’ll get sent back 😂😂😂

TGBahr

Great talk! I would've voted Trump defensively and offensively if I were in America in either California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, or Washington, D.C. As a foreigner. Because they don't require voter identification. Now why is that?

Dmnsrage

This comment section makes me want to throw myself off a building

Jared R
>>155036986

The way his cabinet is shaping up isn’t looking very anti-war at all.

nobody

Jaffe still doesn't know that we already have a bunch of troops in Poland?

Dylan Seidel

Great episode! It’s nice being able to hear different opinions in a nice civil conversation. No endorsements for either side, no saying one side right or wrong. Just a nice conversation. Keep it up!

Chuck Rude

I am pretty hesitant of political topics but this was pretty enjoyable! Easy to listen to, informative, interesting perspectives. Everyone was super reasonable, even Jaffe! :P

Connor Peterman
>>155064794

An administration that already proved it can't deliver on monumental campaign promises (the wall) wants to deport TEN MILLION people. How confident are you that they aren't going to sweep up people that are supposed to be here and afford them due process to correct the problem at the same time?

Connor Peterman
>>155040635

Are you aware trump before, during and after took steps to undermine the outcome of the election? Fraudulent electors, soliciting violations of oath from various high level bureaucrats, showing government secrets to the Saudis, surrounding himself with theocrats and (some self described) white nationalists etc. Does absolutely none of this matter to you? Or are you completely innoculated against anything that attacks the honor of your God-King?

Scott
>>155012537

Every legacy media cable news channel were telling them the election was a coin toss, far left weirdos and easily duped/scammed because they run on emotion/vibes like mentally ill females

Taylor Martin

The obsession with identity politics breaks the democrat party’s ability to communicate policies that affect the majority. It’s also condescending to assume that trump voters are simply ignorant of democrat policies on the whole. The border and democrat politicians talking about regulating social media free speech were were issues just as big as the economy this election.

Alex O

I fail to understand why we focus on shit like Trans athletes in sports, like there’s literally FORTY of them up to the collegiate level. FORTY across all sports!! Like you’re telling me we’re gonna create legislation to target these forty people specifically for the sanctity of sports? Ugh give me a break. It’s literally the biggest nonissue and a continuation of culture war bullshit that we’re giving too much of our attention to.

Taylor Martin

I’m glad this episode exists, folks from both sides of the spectrum should get along well and share opinions and learn from one another. The beauty of last stand

Marco Maluf

Should be someone with good arguments and actually real information and numbers to defend their point of view, Jaffe is great talking about all subjects EXCEPT POLITICS, he has the Trump derangement syndrome and just repeat what the media says about Trump. Im from brazil and I would vote for Trump in a heartbeat, just look to what is happening here in my country, its perplexing to see where we are as a nation compared to the government we had before this….

Edwin Garcia

i really wish we would get a full uap video

Joseph Abraham

It’s always a little amusing to me how Colin mentions DeSantis as this great candidate when he had the charisma and communication skills of a wet sock

Yalingo
>>155162293

Colin regurgitating his X timeline, Jaffe regurgitating dnc propaganda. Both parties are controlled by the same cabal and they keep you fighting on purpose.

Jared R
>>155166311

Or says that a regular Republican would have destroyed Kamala when regular Republicans by and large did poorly in the swing states down ballot. There was a huge crossover between Trump and AOC voters in her district. That wasn’t people going conservative all of a sudden. It was them voting anti-establishment, and I just don’t see any other Republican candidate drawing that kind of anti-establishment enthusiasm.

Jared R
>>155139948

Me over here listening to Bernie talking about how the establishment uses identity to divide the working class and keep us fighting each other over black and white and gay and straight rather than rich and poor and the haves and have nots.

Uvula Smack

It’s crazy to me that Jaffes world view is that if working class people had the time to understand the “nuanced” issues they would inevitably vote blue.

Justin

Interesting to hear their opinions. I guess. Kind of frustrating at points where no one really knows what they're talking about or just flat out wrong about some topics. Colin definitely probably knows more than the average American, but for some reason still can't wrap his mind around the MAGA movement.

Gooch Gobbler
>>155166311

And the fact that Desantis got caught trying to bulldoze environmentally protected land. Fuckin evil bozo

Gooch Gobbler
>>155144663

I can't believe they have spent so much time talking about this dumb shit in the political podcast. Sorry, if you are trans, you just can't play sports in most cases. it sucks btu we haven't figured it out. And I love trans people and am very liberal, this shit just aint worth the friction right now

Gooch Gobbler
>>155040635

Constant double standards, they give all the grace to Trump and assume the worst of Kamala

Belacalac
>>155166311

His love for DeSantis is crazy. DeSantis is one of the most terminally online politicians working right now. As a Floridian his policies are not great. I'm looking to move bc I literally can't afford to live here.

Guywhosbored

Hey Colin, that Olympic boxer doesn't have XY chromosomes. The name is Imane Khelif.

Chase Carter

Jaffe says Trump is against LGBTQ rights, he was the first president to be elected who supported gay marriage.

Guybrush Threepwood

Was hoping to hear some discussion of Trump's people he wants to appoint to attorney general, etc. (Gaetz especially).

Clint Needs

Opon second listen , yes I listen to good pods twice sometimes, at 3:06.35 strange edit after Jafjaff basically asks why don't people feel guilty for voting for someone who makes some people feel bad. I really hope this edit was Jafjaff being ripped a new one for such a weak opinion. Maybe Kameltoelalala makes some people feel bad and people who vote for her should be shamed. I'm English by the way so it's all very entertaining. Colin was always right.......... 🪽.
