For your viewing pleasure.
Hello! It's me, Colin. Please help me in welcoming a couple of familiar faces back to Sacred+, as well as a pair of newcomers making their first appearance: Barry Johnson, Lachlan Pini, Josh Davis, and Joshua Gossage. I've assembled this particular crew because these four guys are the creative team behind Tri Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Odyssey, the newest game from the indie studio I co-own with Barry, Lillymo. It's a direct sequel to Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure, which we first released on PS4 and Vita back in 2020, and as the name suggests, it stars the cast of Sacred Symbols, this time in an unusual, time-bending ordeal. As usual, Barry designed and programmed the game, but we got lots of help from the other guys, too, with Lachlan's and Joshua's pixel art and Josh's (also known as Lazer) chiptune soundtrack. As for me? I wrote it, constituting about 1% of the work that went into making Tri Breaker a reality. These guys are the real heroes! So join me as I pick the team's brains about the origins of our newest title, the serious work that went into it, the inspirations we drew from, and even discuss some of the mistakes we made along the way. As usual, I hope these kinds of conversations give you interesting insight into the often-mysterious world of game development, warts and all. I know I for one am grateful for the context my forays into game dev provide... so why not spread the wealth?
