Ranking PlayStation's IP (Part I) | Sacred Symbols+, Episode 436

It's me, Colin. In search of a new episode of Sacred+ this week, we accidentally stumbled into at least two. That's because we -- myself, Dustin, and Brad -- bit off a little more than we could chew, albeit serendipitously. Thus, we present to you the first of a two-part episode dedicated to the ranking of Sony-owned PlayStation IP from both first and second party, from the very beginning of the PSone era to today. The only rule here is that Sony must own the game or franchise in question (so, no Crash or Spyro), though it doesn't matter if Sony itself owns the developer that made it (so, Uncharted is fine, but so too is Heavenly Sword). Yet, as we got into this exercise, we realized there was a whole lot more to dissect than we anticipated. So instead of rushing and half-assing it, we thought we'd go slowly and deliberately, split things in half, and post a follow-up in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy the opening salvo of our herculean task: Giving every PlayStation IP a letter grade, from S to F. Certainly, this won't be contentious in the least!

You mean the IPs that are never used and we are probably not gonna see till at least PS6? This video is just making me sad lol

colin being constantly told to lock in is comedy gold

Kramer at the Factory

Sony did publish the PS1 Crash Bandicoot and Spyro titles. You guys should put Crash and Spyro on the list at the end, after all the other rankings in the second part. I just wanna see where you guys would put those even though Sony doesn’t own those IPs.

To Colin's point about this feeling like 'lazy' or 'easy' content. I almost hate how much I enjoy it. It is simple, but this kind of stuff is a great listen!

Colin mentioning Driveclub in the same breath as Knack broke my heart 😞 😆… but I get what he is saying, in the context of the tier list.

Joseph Gedgaudas

I've never heard Jotaro's name pronounced like that before.

The logic on why Death Stranding counts as a PS ip but Crash and Spyro didn't when Sony did publish them makes no sense

Kramer at the Factory

Actually, Kojima Productions now fully owns the Death Stranding IP.

Great episode. wasn't expecting to be too interestsed because I don't play on PS but it was fun.

Diddy’s Dong Quest

45:00 the older a game gets the more time people have had to check it out, right? Like imagine you find your older siblings copy of Sly Cooper 10 years later and you become a diehard fan. Not that hard to imagine.
