Brad and Gene, I wrote in a few weeks back about playing RE6. Thanks for the advice on play order and mindset. I just finished it and wanted to share a few thoughts. Keeping my expectations low made the experience so much better. Honestly, the final boss was the camera angles and QTEs—such painful game design. That said, the gun-fu was surprisingly fun, and playing with a buddy made it a blast. A gummy here and there didn’t hurt either. For anyone holding off, give it a shot. Just temper your expectations and play with a friend—you’ll be laughing your ass off. I even grabbed the platinum since it wasn’t too bad. With that, I’ve now finished every mainline RE game. Bring on RE9! Thanks again, Jared from Utah

What’s the craic folks, I notice Gene ISN’T talking about Xenoblade, so we have got to SORT IT OUT. As someone just about to start the first Xenoblade on switch, what should I expect? Any tips? I have no idea what to expect at all. Gene’s passion also made me pre order Xenoblade X so keep it up my guy. Cormac, Ireland🇮🇪

Given the lineup and Brad’s recent allegations (I believe our boy is being framed), it’s only appropriate to ask this now. Gentlemen, who in LSM is which Sonic character and why? Cog feels like a Knuckles because he looks trustworthy and capable to keep the Master Emerald safe. Have a “No, I’m not a furry because The Lion King is on my shirt, it’s just my favorite film.” kind of day. (This is a true story.)

Lizurd

Excited as hell to hear Gene talk about KCD. I’m nearly done with 80 hours played, so good!

Howdy all! I have a keep it up for Hugo Martin and the team at ID for their upcoming release of Doom Dark Ages. If there’s anything this industry has taught us in the last couple of years, it’s people will always find something complain about, but when a good product comes out everyone’s opinions suddenly change (sort it out trolls!). I feel they don’t have to, but ID and Hugo taking about these difficulty sliders has been cool and transparent, even though they settled the matter with the infamous “you control the buttons you press” tweet. Anyway Doom Dark Ages is my most anticipated game and can’t wait! Keep up the good work LMS fam!

Sort It Out: Hey Matty, Gene, and Brad—hope you’re all doing well. Ubisoft needs to sort out what Assassin’s Creed has become. The newer games look stunning, but the soul is gone. The facial animations are stiff, the writing is bloated and flat, and emotional scenes fall apart because there’s no nuance in performance. Compare Valhalla or Mirage to something like Uncharted 4 or The Last of Us Part II, and it’s night and day—despite being older, those games feel more alive and human. The worlds now are massive but empty. There’s no sandbox creativity, no real stealth identity, just checklist tasks over and over. AC used to be about consequence, secrecy, and smart design. Now it feels like a generic open-world grind with Assassin cosplay layered on top. It’s time to stop chasing RPG trends and bring back the cinematic, stealth-driven identity that made this franchise iconic. Thanks as always for the show, really appreciate what you guys do.

Matty vs Gene. Who has the bigger Gooner knowledge? Can we do a slideshow of gaming waifus and see who can name the most?

I'm issuing a hard SORT it OUT to our very own MrMattyPlays for complaining in Defining Duke the other week that Kojima is releasing Death Stranding 2 too soon for him to finish the original. Hey! Did you know it came out in 2019? Five years of talking shit about it, and now you want to finally give it a chance, but you STILL insist on playing weeb gooner shit. I'm just giving you smoke, this comes from a place of love. The game is fucking fantastic and I hope you see it through. PS, definitely give yourself a break between these two games; you may be a little burnt out at the end of the first one if you go for the platinum. Much love to you all!

What up Summoners. With God of War 20th anniversary having just passed, what are your feelings on the series? Do you prefer the raging monster of the original trilogy or the more subdued version of the newer games. What are your favorite games in the series? Favorite bosses? Where should the series go next? Back to Greece, Egypt or somewhere else? Love the show and hope Brad can beat the Furry/ Gooner allegations

A Bukakke, but instead of cocks, its shotguns

I just wanted to give a "Keep It Up" to a studio that I’m sure many LSM staff might not be familiar with: Digital Extremes. Their game Warframe is currently celebrating its 12th anniversary, and they just dropped the Techrot Encore update. This update brings a brand new mode, new systems, weapons, and, of course, another new Warframe—this one inspired by none other than David Bowie. After thousands of hours and many on-and-off periods since launch, I can confidently say there’s nothing quite like Warframe. For Digital Extremes to continuously keep the game feeling fresh and exciting after 12 years is truly impressive. The game is more popular than ever, with the greatest build diversity I’ve experienced in any game. This is what live service done right looks like! Thanks to everyone at LSM for all the incredible work you do!

Hey Brad and the lads. A quick keep it up to game demos. I recently tried the Khazan the first Berserker demo. A game I was very on the fence about. After playing through it for 5 hours, the crunchy soulslike combat and level design has me hooked. I've preordered it. I wish more games would drop demos to help up make purchase decisions in the modern gaming landscape.

Anton Kaye

Hey Bradley, When will Dagan be on the show? We never get to submit comments or questions to him and I wanted to recommend #Blud to him when the opportunity arises. Thanks and keep it up!

Big Dumb Stupid Idiot

Hey Gooners, Keep it up to the GOAT, Monolith Soft. Releasing 11 total projects in a single console generation is not only a herculean task but they're all bangers to boot: Splatoon 2 & 3, Animal Crossing, both Zelda's, 4 Xenoblade's and their DLCs. I would go as far as saying Xenoblade X is a Citizen Kane to open world RPGs. Other companies should use it as a blueprint for doing the genre right. Have a great day!

Diddle Me Twice

Sort it out; in-game currency that expires. Fuck you. You don’t even deserve Vaseline. I’ve had SF6’s fight coins for over a year. I want to spend your fight coins, but there is nothing in the fucking store worth buying. Capcom isn’t releasing skins for normal characters. Just that stupid world tour custom avatar bullshit. Why not give Ryu the phoenix wright suit. Give Akuma the Silver Samurai outfit. Give Mai the Felicia outfit. But no, you fucking give it to avatars. Oh here’s a basketball jersey for your avatar. 700 fight coins. Get the fuck out of here. I sometimes buy the battle pass to get the arcade roms, or the music. At the end of the pass, I get 90% of my coins back. Now you’re telling me coins are about to expire? Aren’t those technically “new fight coins”? To be fair, I don’t know if it’s a Capcom thing, or a normal thing. I don’t buy much currency in live service games. I only have fight coins because I bought 3 costumes last year. And you know, the costumes are equivalent to $4.50, but the Fight coins start at $5. That bullshit. Sort it out. I’m glad the European Union is doing something about all these horrible practices.

Hey Gents, What’s everybody’s favorite Sonic universe character? Since learning our favorite host Brad is smitten with Rouge the Bat 🤤, I am now curious if the other members of the LSM crew have any personal favorites? Cheers, Hugh J.

Hello Brad Pitt, Gene Hackman, and Matt Damon, Each of you get thrown into a Saw like scenario - you must make a choice between these three: To stay alive you have to either 1. Fight a bull walrus injected with meth 2. Swim 20, 50 meter laps, through vanilla pudding Or 3. Sit in a room with no windows for 30 days with a tv, playing over and over, the movie Shrek 3, with only 4 hours of sleep each night. What fate becomes you? Thanks for all the great content and have a fulfilling week

Jose

Greetings Gooners, What are your thoughts on achievements/trophies? Recently I made the decision to turn off achievement notifications while playing games. I realized that I had reached the point where I would either research a game beforehand to see how hard it was to get the achievements or change my gameplay experience to be able to get them (example, having a guide open with a list of missables or collectibles I need to get). And unsurprisingly, it has been ruining my gaming experience. I have adopted work habits into what is supposed to be my relaxing hobby. I am curious about your thoughts.

Hey Summoners, Keep it up to Monolith Soft for their continued excellence, showcasing a prime example of what the industry needs to be. Ever since Xenoblade Chronicles (not to discount their prior work) they have been on a historic run with a consistent output of games that simply do not miss. While also lending their talents in the development of games such as BOTW and TOTK due to their expertise in open-world games. Which leads me to Xenoblade Chronicles X, which is what impressed Nintendo prompting them to ask for help with Zelda. XBCX was a miracle on the Wii U in 2015 and the Definitive Edition is still a miracle on the Switch in 2025, that still puts other open-world games to shame 10 years later. Also keep it up to Gene who has a been huge advocate of Monolith Soft and their games. Please keep glazing them. Thanks.

The game is awesome. The only thing I’d want in a third game or maybe as an update to this one is a third person mode.

TheUnchartedWolf

What's up Summoners! With all the talk around Assassin’s Creed Shadows, I see many people talking about how despite being dissapointed in the last few entries, they're still jumping into this one because they "played every other one". Do you guys have a "clock-in franchise". A series that you're not really a fan of anymore but you play each new entry because you've always played them? Despite being dissapointed in the last few Pokemon games, I know for a fact I'm buying Z-A because I'm a broken man. Thanks for all you guys do!

Hashim Barakat

Good day sacred thick-thighed alchemists. It was a pleasant surprise to see Matty’s video on atelier Yumia, and I am happy that Yumia is getting a lot positive reception just like Ryza and her thighs. Do you, Mr. Marty, believe this the new entry is on the right track to get the series into a newer fan base,? and will any of the summoners will check this or any of the previous games? The alchemy system is easy to learn and hard to master, and you can create game breaking items if you go deep into it. Thank you for the amazing content as always you wonderful people, wish all a happy week and keep it up to Gust.

Flint Dibble and the Dibble singers

Hey Sump Pumps VG247 gave AC Shadows a 100 and gave Ghost Of Tsushima a 60. In what world can you tell me this review wasn't bought and paid for?

Jeremiah

Hey summoners, A Link Between Worlds is my first Zelda game, and it is in close competition with Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild for my personal favorite in the series. Am I crazy for preferring this to Link to The Past? I understand that game is probably objectively better and certainly more important, but the feel of Link Between Worlds is just something else. To the rest, do you have similar experiences where you know one game may not be the best in a series, yet it remains your favorite?

Caleb Peacock

This question is for Marty: How much does atom fall scratch that Bethesda itch? You’re talking to a major Bethesda fan who is hungry. Does it have good quests and exploration? Combat, graphics, and jankiness is irrelevant to me. I don’t need a “good game”, I need a game that captures me if you know what I mean. Thanks

RK128

Blessed Day Goon Squad, I've been playing the Yuma demo and was surprised to see you cover the game on Retro Rebound Matty! It's a lotta fun so far and seriously considering getting it. I felt a lot of Breath of the Wild energy from the open world, do you feel the same? Have a 'I promise I didn't start playing Yuma solely for the character design' kind of day.

Brad Felix

Ayo summoners, SORT IT OUT - Annual release sports games and their Uber predatory microtransactions. 2k I am looking directly at you. You have taken the joy out of NBA 2k, PGA and every other game your grubby hands touch. EA is no better! I could maybe understand it if these games were existing service games and they didn't have an annual release schedule, but the fact these purchases really only are good for one year, and then the game is no longer current? Garbage. I wish their was some government regulation on this shit. Peace and love to yall and keep supporting quality devs like Warhorse and Larian!

Louis Armstrong transforms into Louis Strongarm by shouting WOW, Shazam-style

KEEP IT UP, Takeshi Abo! I recently picked up SINce Memories: Off the Starry Sky, because I am a huge Mages fanboy and I’ve played every game that they’ve had localized. The game is good, not great, but my boy Abo-san delivers with the music once again. I know that visual novels are very niche in the US, so I just wanted to shout this composer out. Even when the stories aren’t amazing, the vibes are always immaculate. I regularly go back and listen to the Steins;Gate, Chaos;Child, and Robotics;Notes OSTs just for the hell of it. Do you guys have any lesser known composers you are big fans of? Take care.

Hello from beautiful austria summoners. After all the gooner talk the last few weeks, i could not stay silent any longer. I am officially claiming the title of king gooner of this patreon and the world. Not only do i always play as the most juicy and cute female if there is a choice, i also fill my RPG parties with as many beautiful women as possible even if it is the weakest option. I play through really bad games if the protagonist is a waifu with jiggle going on. I have a top 20 list of best "physics" written down. My girlfriend almost left me when she first saw me using a character creator... she is korean, so she got over it. A proud connoisseur of the female form in every way. How does your inner gooner show himself when gaming?

Sweet Jones

I gotta give a sort it out to Capcom. I'm enjoying MHWilds quite a bit, honestly not as much as World, but that's topic for another day. No, my sort it out is for Alma and my seikret. I appreciate the option to turn off my teammates' birds when they aren't riding them, but for the love of God mine will just waltz right into my camera while I'm fishing. I've lost whoppers due to not being able to fuckin see. And then there's Alma, riding her bird right through the middle of fights. It's distracting af while I'm focusing on not riding the lightning in the middle of a Rey Dou throw-down. The game knows when you are fighting..why can't they faze em out? An option for this too would be appreciated.

Diddy’s Dong Quest

Hey Brad, As LSMs biggest Zelda fan, I was wondering if you’ve ever done a 3 heart challenge before? I’ve completed Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, Wind Waker and Minish Cap with three hearts. While it certainly doesn’t get to Fromsoftware levels of difficulty, it makes the games MUCH more interesting and challenging. It forces you to use items like the Hookshot, Boomerang and Deku Leaf for their combat uses more frequently rather than mostly using them for puzzles. Thanks and have a great week!

TheMuff1nMon

Matty - for two weeks now - the Punching Up crew has labeled Atelier Yumia as a “gooner game”. can you please issue a SORT IT OUT and explain to them it’s way more than just thighs and ass. Much love to everyone at LSM for the amazing content each week.

Filip

Hey guys, I am an IT architect and recently I had an opportunity to be part of a team that designed and implemented custom AI clusters for various customers. And it got me thinking - there is a lot of AI slop on various video game storefronts but those are inconsequential. But what do you think an "AI slop" video game looks like once triple A money are put towards it? You don't need to read this part but for me, it's the new look Assassins Creed, starting from Origins. Everything there ranges from below average to above average. Nothing is truly great or exceptional but also rarely is there anything straight up bad. There are a lot of features there but none of them come from some kind of direction or vision. It's all market researched, focus tested and approved by a committee. I think this is more or less what a well trained AI would design. Thoughts?

Look up the newest Star Ocean game. Tri Ace, the developer of these games, always had very good physics, but in their newest one it's really really good. Look up the blond girl party member. Her jiggle takes the clothing into account and everything, it is a sight to behold and it's hilarious because it took some very dedicated developer many hours to make it. The number one physics goes to stellar blade of course... its also my favourite game, no question.

Hello there, Summoners. Now we have both Marty and Gene together, they might talk about Persona 5 Royal. Now that Gene beat it a few months ago. While he praised the game, especially from the events of the 11/20 date. You know, you know. One thing was not addressed was his thoughts on the third semester. Matty, for years you praised the new semester. You even calling it the best JRPG story of all time. Please show Gene the light, as he did not felt the same as the rest of the P5 community. Keep on breaking the chains of rebellion summoners.

NeO JD

Question: Hey gang, earlier this week someone noticed that P4RE.JP was registered as a domain name. 2 years ago, P3RE.JP was registered and 3 months later Persona 3 Reload was revealed. Are you excited for a Persona 4 Reload? Personally, it’s my favorite Atlus game so I’m stoked. KEEP IT UP!!!: XBOX!!! Tom Warren showed an Xbox UI image that had Steam listed on it, which was then taken down. If they actually let me use Steam on Xbox, I’ll be more amped than you guys at a Sonic Furry convention. 😉 SORT IT OUT: Amazon Prime and Ronald D. Moore. You greenlit the God of War live-action series for 2 seasons and gave the reins to a guy who didn’t play the games because he’s “not a gamer”? Hopefully they prove me wrong but that is not what you want to hear.

Ben Haner

Keep it Up: Tango Gameworks, playing The Evil Within 2 for the first time and this game slaps

nickcoates64

Hey dudes, I’ve believed for a long time that Link Between Words is a perfect entry point for newcomers to the series. Not too difficult, has a clever twist on light/dark dimensions, a cute style, and good introduction and guidance for items. Do you agree that this game is a good entry point for new Zelda players? It also begs the question, what are the odds Nintendo puts this game on modern hardware?

Ricardo Chavez

Greetings Summoners, It’s often said that Christopher Nolan’s Memento is a story that could only be properly told through the medium of film. Are there any games whose stories could only be told through video games? The first one that comes to mind for me is the original BioShock. Curious to hear your thoughts—I’ll hang up and listen. V/R Ricardo C.

Hi Brad, Matty, and Gene. As Brad is playing A Link Between Worlds, my question is, do you all prefer 2D or 3D Zelda games? I’ve played Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and A Link Between Worlds. Despite playing for tens of hours, I never beat those 3D Zelda entries except for Ocarina of Time. But when I think of my favorite Zelda, A Link Between Worlds comes to mind. It has engaging gameplay and it’s not that long, which is partly why I love it. So, 2D or 3D Zelda? Which style do you favor?

Craptain Picard

Hi Ho Summoners! I have a keep it up for Red Candle Games and especially their latest game from 2024, Nine Sols. They are a Taiwanese developer, and the ey pushed past some bullshit censorship from China with their previous game and came back and made one of the best 2D action games of all time. If you haven’t played it yet, I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s an absolutely gorgeous, hand drawn metroidvania. The movement is so smooth, and the combat is absolutely sublime. Everyone compares it to Hollow Knight and Sekiro and I agree. It is heavily parry focused and just feels super responsive and satisfying. Some of the best boss fights I’ve ever played, too. I know a lot of us are tired of Metroidvanias at this point, but if you’re willing to give one more a shot, this might be the best one yet.

Hey Summoners, Yesterday, my wife and I were at my parents’ house, helping them clean out their basement. While sorting through everything, we stumbled upon my old collection of video game magazines. That quickly turned into a trip down memory lane as we reminisced about our favorite covers and the issues that left a lasting impression. For me, nothing tops the Game Informer issue featuring Uncharted 2—an absolute classic. My wife’s favorite? The Halo 3 cover. Meanwhile, my dad’s pick was the very first issue featuring the PlayStation 2! That got me thinking—what are some of your favorite old video game magazine covers? Let’s hear them! Best, Sean M.

Chris banging ladies wearing the Green Goblin Mask

Hey there, "Saying the name in the Mirror 3 times" Summoners. My "Sort it out" goes to EA and Broadsword Online games . Why in the hell after all this time is Star Wars: The Old Republic not on consoles? Year after year, more MMO's enter the console space with developers understanding that they can make the control scheme work on a controller. TERA, Elder Scrolls Online, Black Desert, DC Universe, New World, Phantasy Star, Star Trek, and one of the most popular out there, Final Fantasy 14. What's the excuse for not putting SWTOR in the mix. I can't imagine it's any more complicated play style wise than the others. Putting that game on PS5 and Series X/S would boost the player number count and bring eyes and bucks to what I have heard are some stellar expansions. Have any of you played it or had the desire to but didn't want to do so on PC? What do you do think are the reasons it hasn't made the jump? Take care and have a good week.
