Ben is an incredible voice actor and seems like a great person, but I would like to say that as a patron I am against having people who were involved with making a game on a podcast that is supposed to be about giving genuine opinions and feedback about said game. I think it would be great to hear Ben on about games that he wasn’t personally involved in, for instance. There’s a good chance everyone on the show did genuinely love E33, but you just can’t be sure of that with the conflict of interest.

I came here to say the exact same thing, maycare. It's awkward. I come to LastStand for honest feedback - and when you have someone on the show that helped make the game it is going to skew the conversation - you're going to pull punches. There is even a part where Ben is defending the game, and the cohosts appear reluctant to critique the game. It's the same reason that Colin doesn't let game companies advertise on their show and they don't take advanced copies of games. It was a nice idea but I think I'm just going to skip the rest of this episode.

I understand the concern here but I didn’t get that at all from the conversation. Gene mentioned some issues he had with the game, Dustin and Brad aren’t very far along with it but said they like it. Admittedly Ben is hardly likely to speak poorly of it, but as others have said it’s not a review podcast. I think he was a great guest who had plenty to say, clearly plays lots of games and I’d love to hear him back. Not an issue for me.

On the contrary, I think the company is way better with Gene and Brad than it was before it! Gene in particular has really insightful commentary based on a wealth of knowledge of games.

It's mostly safe. Skip minute 26 entirely just to be 100% safe. But even that is overkill. It was a great conversation.

I see your point but if they stick to that rule then you can never get great interviews with actors or devs. It was good to hear Ben's experience with E33 as well as hear him talk about other games. And I don't think any money changed hands. There were still negatives spoken about the game and Dustin and Brad are both early so they've got weeks left to share their opinions.

Gene small nitpick but I’m pretty sure the 2060 non super laptop version would be more comparable to series S. Ik series s uses a 5500xt equivalent. XSX is more 2080 super. 5500xt would be pretty comparable as 5600xt was compared to 2060super and 5700xt 2070super. So 2060 non super laptop version is more that pocket And no the oblivion narrative is not like minecraft because there’s a hellish world invading normal world 😂 would love to back and forth about this but not gonna drop psychobabble here so I’ll leave it at that

Brad - I think in oblivion your summons are unaffected by difficulty scaling. Could be wrong tho
