The last couple of weeks for Bungie have been nothing short of catastrophic, calling into question whether their upcoming extraction shooter Marathon has any chance at all in finding market success. We've long discussed whether Sony should have bought Bungie at all (they shouldn't have), but now that they're so deeply invested, how do they get the team out of this mess? And what does all of this hullabaloo -- about stolen art, poorly-reviewed gameplay, and lackluster audience reaction -- say about the team's future, full stop? Meanwhile, things aren't much better north of the border, where Quebec-based Haven recently parted ways with founder and once-famous producer Jade Raymond, who has now left three different teams without any sort of release. Colin, you really can’t understand how people play one multiplayer game for so long? You don’t get it because you like to move on to other games? Allow me set the record straight for you because you keep saying this and the answer is so obvious that it’s frustrating to hear someone who’s covered games for decades not understand. Ready? You only play single player games. Yes, playing the same single player game and experiencing the same story, and levels, and AI enemies over and over again for years would be mind-numbingly boring. Just like re-watching the same movie every day. In multiplayer games (just like with sports) every game/match is different as you are playing against different people and different things are happening every time. No two matches ever play out the same. Are you screaming at your TV everytime you watch football? “HOW THE HELL CAN AARON RODGERS KEEP PLAYING THE SAME GAME OVER AND OVER!? I DON’T UNDERSTAND!! 👻 Ghost story: my wife called me, at the fire station at 3 am. She told me that my 7 yr daughter wake her up crying telling her that there’s an old lady standing in her room. I told her to make sure to lock the doors and go to sleep. In the morning I was coming back from my 24 hour shift. When I arrived there was a fire truck sitting in front of my apartment building. Ehh, to be fair, there are way more possibilities in real life sports versus a video game that's constrained by its gameplay design, code, physics, etc. Not really a 1:1 comparison. The aspect of the $80 games talk I think was slightly overlooked, is that going from $70-$80 should not be as big of a deal as people are making it seem. If you are someone who needs to penny pinch to that degree over $10, you really shouldn't be paying $70 for games either and should be waiting for sales.

Quick two cents on the Heaven topic since I have heard Colin talk about it before. Heaven is one place and is not personalized. God is the light (literally and metaphorically) in Heaven and he has roles for us to play. We will rule with Christ in His millennial reign on Earth after His Second Coming and then we will live on the New Heaven and New Earth with God and have roles in His Kingdom. Talking about the ps app and rewards, I’m in the UK so maybe it’s different but the screenshot feature is really fast and works great, usually takes about 10 seconds to get into the app, videos obviously taking a bit longer. Shout out to Dustin for the PS1 recommendation of Crash vs the remade trilogy. I absolutely don't think the remake plays the same way and the difference makes it much harder. Enough so that I looked around and found other people saying the same thing! On the flip side CTR plays perfectly on PS4 where I don't know if you need to go back to the original.
