Moriarty x Jaffe: Rambling Men | Sacred Symbols+, Episode 461

It's me, Colin! Please welcome storied designer and friend David Jaffe back to Sacred+ for yet another appearance. It's been just over two months since we last did a Moriarty x Jaffe episode, and felt like like it was time to break the dry spell. This long-ranging, often-off-topic episode touches on a ton of items, including plenty of games talk. Chatter concerning PlayStation's crumbling GaaS initiative, the ebb and flow of "convention season," Nintendo's future prospects, the potential of Unreal Engine 5, Randy Pitchford's PR nightmare, and much more are on the other side of the play button. Please enjoy.

Dagan working on the instruction manual made for an easy sell. 😊 Now I just need to cross my fingers and hope I nab one before they sell out. 🙏

Regarding the generations that speak to us (Jaffe mentioned the ‘80s & ‘90s for him), my favorite music & films tend to lean before my birth (ex. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery [1973] and Rear Window [1954]). However, if we are talking games, my fond memories land post birth (late ‘90s to 2000 generation), with the exception of Galaga. I gravitate towards current games that are retro influenced in some fashion (ex. Rayman Origins/Legends & Mina the Hollower). October cannot come soon enough. 😆

Jaffee is looking good with the weight loss! Keep on keeping on!

This is what I pay for.

I love how Dave’s sporting a new look every time he’s on SS+

Jaffe, thank you for keeping it real regarding Witcher 4 trailer and CDPR's Cyberpunk release. Anyone who has been paying attention to CDPR since 2019 shoudl be skeptical of this. I'm sure it will be a good game. But it won't look like this.

Its weird how the older I get the less I agree with Jaffes politics... Yet the more I like him.
