Black Detective in Dexter

Colin, like Dustin said, this wasn't the W you think it was. Streaming a narrative driven game that came out 3 days ago doesn't really make sense. The game isn't long but most people aren't going to finish it in the first weekend and they don't want it spoiled for them. Stop trying to keep up with the Joneses. The reason people like LSM is because you guys play what you want, when you want and don't just adhere to the popular game of the moment. Not trying to bust balls too hard here, but I was mega confused when you announced this game for the stream. Now, might I suggest a Far Cry Co Op stream with Dustin or Chris as your partner. Far Cry 4 and 5 both have co op. 4 is only outposts and side activities but I'm pretty sure you can play the entirety of 5 in co op. We don't talk about 6. Another fun idea for a stream would be RE4 Remake Mercenaries mode where you guys try to beat each other's high scores.

I agree. Too soon. Most people who haven’t had a chance to play won’t tune in because of spoilers, myself included.

Stephen

Came here to say this. I don’t want to see any of this game.

LastStandMedia

People asked for a game stream, and they got one. Back to Moriarty x Jaffe next week! <3

Anybody else having an issue with the steam not loading on Patreon? I like to watch it from here because the PIP works better here than YouTube imo

Daniel

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them streaming a newer, narrative game like this. I personally like them stretching the variety of content in every direction to see what works and is most entertaining. I suppose if you feel like you need to be present and responding in chat then that’s one thing - but this sort of content is popular and can always be revisited after you’ve beaten the game

Supes

speaking for myself, I'd gladly watch you guys play narrative-light games (roguelikes, old school 2D games etc) where you just shoot the shit and talk to the chat along the way. That feels more like "a podcast with a game happening in the background," which seems to be what this community is really looking for. Friendslop games like RV There Yet are also fun because they create naturally comedic moments for the chat to engage with. by contrast, RE9 is a narrative single-player game where it's most effective when the person playing is really dialed in, so I feel like streaming it just sort of lessens its impact. I get that you guys are thinking about numbers and audience draw, and maybe you guys wanted to try this as a way to see if playing a new release would capture the same sorta numbers as Moriarty x Jaffe, but it just doesn't feel like you guys' style. Maybe you could mix gaming with Jaffe talk and see how that goes? I dunno, just throwing ideas out here.

Man, people really are picky as fuck huh? Thanks for the content! Can’t wait to play this.

It doesn't mention on Mobile and just spins. But on the desktop/web patreon the video says it's age restricted and only available on YouTube. So that's probably why?

Deemac

He did this deliberately so he could justify going back to a Jaffe stream lol. Couldn't have possibly done Elden Ring which more people would have watched...

At the time of writing this Markiplier has part 1 of a full playthrough on his channel posted 2 days ago with 1.7 million views. Playing a new game is a non-issue, same with spoilers casts. If you don’t want to see it yet becuse it’s short and will be spoiled spend the weekend beating the game and then watch the stream after you have finished.

I want to start by saying I'm not here to complain about Jaffe or beg for more gaming streams. Just wanted to share some thoughts as a fan of Colin's since the Beyond days, and a big fan of the entire LSM crew in general. Yesterday's RE9 stream was the first one I had to skip to avoid spoilers. I did tune in at the beginning and end to listen to yall talk to chat, but turned it off when you were playing. I think a stream even a week or two after release, maybe to watch Colin finish the platinum, could've done better numbers. When it comes to the gaming streams, personally, I've enjoyed the co-op stuff the most. The Overcooked stream with Micah was one of my favorites by far. For me it's more about the banter and interaction between the LSM crew, than it is about the game itself. I'm also loving the Moriarty x Jaffe streams. But I do have one bit of feedback there. The most recent MxJ stream felt more like an episode of Sacred+ when I was listening to it. Which is not a bad thing, just not necessarily what I'm looking for on the streams. The conversation was excellent as usual, and Jaffe provides great insight on the industry. IMO those types of conversations are perfect for Sacred+. I think Jaffe's chaotic nature is great for live streams and better suited for something like the call-in show. Doing both could allow you to "double-dip" on Jaffe while keeping both shows unique. I know Jaffe is somewhat divisive amongst LSM fans, but I'd be fine with once a month Moriarty x Jaffe streams. Maybe even bi-weekly, but I know there's a bunch of us that would like to hear more from Dustin too. The last idea I have regarding streams is the concept of media share. Think of it like a super chat but instead of a message the chatter pays to send a clip that yall watch on stream. I know Colin isn't a big fan of reaction content. But I think it could lead to fun stream moments. This is a deep pull, but remember the "Boston Fisherman Freaks out About Fish" video from Colin and Greg live? That's the kind of shit I'm looking for. Keep fucking that chicken. I will now Stand Down. I think a good stream a good stream schedule could look something like this. Week 1: Moriarty x Jaffe call-in/general chat/media share Week 2: Sacred league Week 3: Colin x Dustin call-in/chat/media share Week 4: Game stream. Please don't take this as me telling anyone how to run the company. I never write-in so I hope this is an appropriate place for a post like this. At the end of the day I've really enjoyed the streams and love the continued evolution of LSM and hope y'all continue to explore fun new ideas. I will now Stand Down. Keep fuckin that chicken. Edit: 100 Nug challenge sounds fucking awesome btw.

Being as transparent as you are with your audience when it come to how you make your content makes them think they have a say in how you should produce your content, make it without saying why.

Great feedback imo and a well thought out comment. I'd echo alot of that - I do like the occasional Jaffe podcast as he and Colin have a good rapport, and they go back and forth on many things. But I gotta say if it's gonna be so frequent, it loses its luster (to me anyway). I mean I can already guess what alot of what next Monday will probably be - complaining about Santa Monica doing another God of War game (I still think it's unfair to criticise until we see what the game actually is, but that's another topic - plus Barlog has earned the benefit of the doubt imo), and complaining about the look of the new GoW TV show (again, not the best 1st impression but I'll wait for a trailer before declaring it shit). Jaffe has some good insights from his time in the industry, but I have to say it gets a bit old if it's just constantly shitting on Sony, it comes off sometimes like a bitter ex (even if they do often deserve shit). Again I like these kind of conversations occasionally, but it'd be better imo if topics were let gather and they do this monthly Moriarty x Jaffe SS+ episode (which is what they used to do) where they cover a number of things. As you say, it's essentially that on the last couple of Monday streams they did, where it could have just been a SS+ and the stream was something else. I just recall when the streams started and Colin had all these ideas of what they could do: covering old E3 streams, cleaning up old platinums, the Sacred League (RIP) etc. etc. And now it seems he's got comfortable doing the conversations with Jaffe more regularly, and if it's a sign of things to come then it's a bit of a missed opportunity to experiment a bit more. Just my 2 cents

I haven’t been able to get the video work at all.

Kasual7

The link doesn't work guys!

Not a Sexbot..

Wildly passive aggressive dude. I have no problem with this stream. Call in show with Jaffe is great, and makes sense. Just talking with Jaffe = ss+.. You said you were bored, then why do the same thing but live? I don’t know why I’m bothering. Just disappointed in your response.
