I have put in over 45 hrs in 4 days in Marathon. I have stopped working, looking after my family and sometimes eatin. Marathon is my full-time job now that’s how obsessed I am with this game.

I've enjoyed not having to repair/upgrade pipe weapons for several minutes after each run

Marathon does with it's story what Fromsoft did with Elden ring's story but far better. ER was a single player game while Marathon being a hardcore extraction shooter still somehow brings the players together in a PvE way to solve mysteries and puzzles to figure out the story. My request to LSM members who have put in the time, is to please do a Review discussion on Marathon so people who disregarded Marathon as a "failed launch game" can know what they are missing out on.

Oh man I remember having that "Now I gotta wait like 4 or 5 years for the sequel" feeling after finishing Horizon Forbidden West. That feeling completely relapsed after I saw that dumb Horizon multiplayer game. Reset the timer boys... lets wait another 4 to 5 years to continue the story everyone wants to see...

Yeah, I'm apparently one of the rare people who really liked the 2 main line Horizon games, both for story and gameplay. I don't hate the look of Hunters Gathering, but it's not for me, and the fact that it is apparently delaying the third main line game pisses me off. They left Forbidden West with a huge cliff hanger. The First Party studios were woefully mismanaged this generation.

The the gentleman who wrote about Sony possibly leaving the live service space and going back to single-player games only. Normally I would be more angry with my response because how many times must it be elaborated why this is an awful take, but since you are spot-on with highlighting that there is an economy of hate happening in video games, I will explain it gently. With a metaphor even. The PlayStation ship is on a route of high-production-value, viable player games that nobody else comes close to, but this route is headed into a waterfall. The person at the helm can choose to proceed with what they are good at and have a blast until the ship falls to its death, or they can make a turn and head into uncharted waters of the unknown. Full of sharks, mines, rocks, and other ships already present, BUT at least a chance to survive.
