I am loving the shiiiiiit out of Marathon

Frank

Played marathon but not getting the itch to go back

Kevin

Marathon has to be a major disappointment for Sony, Brand new ip with what maybe 300,000 copies sold is brutal.

Edward Walton

Took me 4 days start to finish for Pokopia. It is indeed a very chill game. No enemies to deal with. The gameplay loop of finding new Pokémon is engaging enough. It's very focused on decoration and individual stories with certain Pokémon which is fine, but it runs thin once you finish them. It's gonna need some actual updates with events/additional stories to improve things. It will take some time to fill out the pokedex and you're forced to consider time of day in real time during play.

Mitch Orobko

Chris talking about how Arc raiders doesnt have weapons or skills that you're actually afraid to lose. Homie never had a bobcat IV with a kinetic converter dropping into trios lol. I think it's obvious he just prefers bungie and FPS shooters. Arc Raiders PvP can be as sweaty and intense as you want it to be.

Kevin

Fair enough a re-boot then since that was a 1994 boomer shooter like doom.

John

Marathon has so much depth to it for a game where you’re just dropping into the same few maps. Trios plays much differently than Solos which plays much differently than Rooks. The Shell tactical/primary abilities have a major impact on how situations and firefights play out. Not to mention the build crafting of cores/implants, and dynamic and ambient events on the maps themselves. As someone who has never played an extraction shooter in my life, I see the vision, but it would be hard for me to believe than any other extraction shooter is as deeply or thoughtfully designed as Marathon is today

Antonio Rodriguez

I love Marathon. I've been thinking about it everyday.

BigDumbStupidIdiot

It sold that little? It was obviously it wasn't going to put up massive numbers but I thought it would do at least a million

Addison117

Lost planet 1,2, and 3 are backwards compatible on xbox one and series.

Omar

Marathon is fucking dope!!!!!

Slippery when wet

To say arc raider isn’t an extraction shooter is one of the dumbest takes I’ve heard Chris say. It’s a more casual friendly extraction shooter than marathon, but it’s very much the definition of an extraction shooter as well. Weather you cate about the loot or items you are extracting in the game, is a YOU problem. And Brad, how do you let him throw around that dumb take..

Trent Piccicacco

Everyone always forgets the Ratchet and Clank future games when talking about PS3 exclusives ☹️

Slippery when wet

Loving it. Fun game. Wish prox chat was more of a thing tho.

Slippery when wet

And it’s totally ok to prefer it. But him saying arc isn’t an extraction shooter sounds absolutely stupid.

NeO JD

Halo 2 and Halo 3 aren’t live-service because they’re not multiplayer only. Same goes for Destiny 1 although that leans more towards the newer models. Marathon isn’t for me so I haven’t paid attention to it outside of trying the server slam to confirm, but nobody can tell me Bungie wouldn’t be more successful copying the Halo formula of a campaign and multiplayer modes.

Absolute Butter

Yeah I find Chris is being really unfair to Arc Raiders for some reason. Implying arc raiders isn't a great entry point to extraction shooters is kinda wild considering how astronomically successful that game has been. Arc raiders can also be pretty sweaty too, particularly in trios. Just feels a little condescending imo

Derriere's Gentlemen's Club circa 2006

They really do. Tools of Destruction and Crack in Time are in my top 3 for the series. I always beat the drum of despite being the only active series of the ps2 platformers, ratchet has the least amount of mainline games available on ps5 compared to jak and sly. Makes no sense

Media Molecules Write in

Arc raiders feels more like an extraction looter rather than an extraction sorry. I understand where Chris is coming from

Slippery when wet

Yea very weird that he feels the need to be disingenuous about one game to praise the other. Get loot, get guns, extract= extraction shooter. He has zero valid point to his comment

A Hind D

I can’t stop playing marathon

They Now Call Me UNC.

I would like to try Marathon, but I don't want to fork over 40 bucks. Hopefully they'll do another free weekend event.

Slippery when wet

lol you can understand where he’s coming from. It just means you’re both wrong. extraction looter😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫… you guys just confusing shit for no reason.. in arc, marathon, division, tarkov, and whatever other extraction game you loot.. you then find the extraction point and clear it to leave with the loot………EXTRACTION GAME.

Aaron

I was down for this game, but no friends wanted to play it. Guess thats me out

Aaron

I do think he has a bungie bias

Ryan

I think marathon looks awesome but chris that is a VERY generous of way of describing that the entire story of the game is on text log terminals lmao

Glen Yelenovic

MGS4 install lengths are forgiven because of the awesome install screen with Old Snake smoking a cig. Coolest shit ever.

Terminal Creative

I love what Chris said about marathon being a rogue like. I feel like if I hadn’t been hooked on Balatro for the past several months, this wouldn’t have landed near as well for me

Bro that was so lit 🔥

Josh Daniel

I think this is an underrated duo
