Saros really isn’t that good.

Matt M

Could the next big hit be Wolverine?

Edward Walton

Can't fault Colin's reception towards Starfield because it is such an obtuse game with some systems even being locked behind certain perks. Although, I think Gene and Colin should have a 1 on 1 discussion on Starfield in particular for a SS+ episode if they could fit it in. I would be interested in that. Don't know about anyone else.

Mitch Orobko

You're right, its fucking awesome.

Mitch Orobko

Hey Colin and Brad just fyi, when Colin was saying how you can't remove those buff/de-buff for the entire run, that isnt true. If you beat the corresponding boss of that biome it takes away the negative effects and leave the good ones. Found that out after about 12 hours lol.

John

Saros’ gameplay is incredible, but they completely zapped the secret sauce of Returnal by how the game is structured. Saros is NOT a roguelike to anywhere near the extent Returnal was, and it’s a worse game for it.

Black Detective in Dexter

Surprise Motherfucker! The name is Doakes aka Black Detective in Dexter aka The Bay Harbor Butcher.

Dante B

Hope Colin goes back to Rogue Legacy 2. What an insanely good game.

IronLion44

Starfield was my first BGS game. I had always heard great things about their games so I decided to jump in on PC back in 23. I enjoyed the ship building and the ship combat. I was trying to convince myself along playing it that it was good, but looking back it is the most 6/10 game I’ve played.

Yet

Yeah it’s such a great game but you gotta overlook the Bethesda quests and be really roleplaying

Alright I can't help myself. Colin made an honest mistake on SF2 World Warriors. Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and Bison ARE in it. You just can't PLAY as them. They're the boss characters. Championship Edition added them. SNES skipped that edition and jumped to turbo.

It's interesting how Colin pronounces Ryu from Street Fighter differently from Ryu Hayabusa. I get it. Growing up, people called Ryu "Rye You" in SF. But the name is the same.

These SNES takes are WILD! All opinions of course so who cares but in 95 Chrono Trigger takes the cake. (Mega Man X2?! Really!) - then X3 over Mario RPG is wild especially both considering you’re an RPG fan through and through. Bonus take - Kirby’s Dream Course is the best SNES Kirby game. Shout out to NHL 94 - Stanley Cup - and NBA Jam as the best sports games on SNES.

Also - “… it all sucks!” Is the best and most honest review ever. “It’s boring as FUCK!” 😂

Matt

Miss you bro

Matt

The thing about Starfield is: I hear everything you’ve saying and I think you’re right. But also, I think Colin doesn’t pay attention enough to the story to enjoy starfield. I really enjoyed the mystery the first time around Spoilers: -Love the twist in the main quest line where your companion dies; that was honestly emotional and unexpected -Love how the new game plus is you as a trans dimensional being fucking around with shit -Loved the mission with the genetically created alien hunting you -Loved that questline where you travel to the planet with a ton of those genetically modified fuckeds -Loved the quest with the ship out of startrek that the planet cunts want you to blow up -Love the space gang quest line It has some good shit, but you have to be into this kind of game, and I think Colin’s not. Objectively, I still think its a 6-7/10 but as a person who loves Bethesda games, its a 7.5-8/10

it pains me hearing colin just dump all over starfield. i've played it for like 120 hours. i've played every bethesda game to completion since morrowind first came out, and i think starfield is my favorite "modern" bethesda game. it hit everything that excites me, and the nasa crap really sucked me in. great stuff. i do think though that it may be how he approaches games because when invited it up i immediately just started gold lining all the factions, building up my ship, then once all that was complete stated the main quest. if someone approaches me and they need help, they get my middle finger cause i have more important matters to attend to :) and this is no slight to colin, but a lot of his complaints are addressed with deeper play. once you upgrade your grave drive and nuclear accelerator you can jump from one side of the map to the other in one jump. and you don't even need to look at the map. when you board your ship, and take off, once in flight you can just click on the quest marker in the middle of your windshield, and click to jump there. and it's done. the side quests are boring, because it's inane filler. the factions quests are some of the smartest bethesda writing to date though. the ryujin questline may be my favorite factions quest line of all bethesda time. for the record, i do think morrowind is greatest video game of all time, and the single best rpg ever made, so they've already made a good rpg 😊😊😊

It’s like Colin’s playing an entirely different version of starfield than me

Microsoft want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to remain a serious competitor in the console hardware space but they seem ultimately unwilling to do what it takes to make that happen. They've spent the last 10+ years finding out that system selling exclusive games are the only way to make a console platform successful, but it seems unlikely that they'll ever commit to actually doing that again. Very confused about what they think the future of Xbox looks like.

Captain Falcon

Who knows what microsoft wants anymore. They're always flip flopping

Yo! Just wanted to say Keep It Up to the Target X Pokemon event. Not only were there lots of different things to buy but there was a set limit of how many of one item you could get on various items. My daughter (9 y.o.) got a “Catch ‘em All” pull over hoodie, Jigglypuff hair brush and some other cool items. There were things I wasn’t expecting to like glow in the dark items and even food items like chewies and pop tarts. Over all we spent about $80. Somehow my daughter made it to the PlayStation isle in their games section and fell for a huge plush Astro Bot. I shamelessly put it in the cart with a smile. Overall, it was a good experience.

Colin, I think you’re tripping about some of the debuffs in Saros. Just pick them up and try. Added recoil debuff doesn’t matter much when you have weapons with auto-hit functionality or shotguns. Fall damage is pretty forgiving and easily negated with a dash before every long fall. Another I always grab is “lose lucenite when hit”. That’s automatic because I don’t ever plan on getting hit! Lmao cheers boys, great episode.

I would love to see this, every time Colin is talking about Starfield, it with other panel members who don't care for it either and it becomes very one sided. Having Gene and/or Cog on the other side would make for a much more interesting discussion.

Edward Walton

I agree. Sometimes these conversations are not with the right people on these shows. I wouldn't mind Cog's input as well, but Gene definitely has gone very in-depth with this particular title that he could speak from a perspective Colin may not even had thought about.

NeO JD

Ducks fly together. I like SF more than Colin does but he’s right in that it’s old tech filled with a bunch of things I didn’t even care for. The more bloated Bethesda’s games got, the worse they’ve been.

Walk Forward Cutscene

If good exclusive games mattered, then the PS5 wouldn’t be doing well

Deemac

Little nitpick but I can't believe Colin picked MLB The Show as a bigger franchise for Sony than God of War - just the 2018 and Ragnarok games have probably outsold all MLB games combined for PlayStation. I mean I know Colin constantly reminds us how little he cares about God of War and always downplays these games, but c'mon man...

Snowbound

Of course they matter. Playstation is currently enjoying the fruits of it's fairly recent past(ps4 output), and the "fruits" of their main competitor absolutely shitting the bed in the 1st party space for 2 generations now. Yes their recent strategy has sucked dick, but as long as it continues to suck less dick than xbox's, and they still put out a hit here and there, of course they will continue to dominate.

Captain Falcon

Are you trolling? MLB has sold way more than GoW 😅

Save The Game Media

They are different though. Spelled the same but pronounced differently

Lunar Tear

Really? I play both franchises and have never heard such a thing. I'll have to look into it more.

Michael Welter

Brad! Jaffe has only been on one episode of Summon Sign. Episode 13. SORT that shit OUT. Thank you! Theres gotta be a reason.

Wesali

Interesting, I found the parasites in Returnal to be absolutely crap and never picked them up. I thought for sure they'd fix that in the sequel.

Kevin Cooper

The premise of the movie CLOUD by Kiyoshi Kurosawa is a big fuck-you to scalpers... I highly recommend checking it out.
