The PR Transmissions Will Resume | Sacred Symbols, Episode 410

If the release calendar holds as currently constructed, Grand Theft Auto VI will launch into the waiting arms of millions upon millions of day-one players. And since it's likely to be the highest-grossing entertainment event in the history of mankind, it's fair to assume that the marketing push will be substantial. As we get ever-closer to the fall, Take Two's CEO has been giving revealing interviews about the insane money, expectations, and consequences behind Rockstar's much-anticipated project (and word on these digital streets is that Sony has secured the marketing rights to the game, which is absolutely massive for PlayStation 5). Are you ready to withstand a hype machine the likes of which you've never seen before? Plus: Strauss Zelnick expresses disappointment over Civilization VII and laments the lack of a new BioShock, a majority of consumers polled report never buying games at full price, Call of Duty is finally skipping PlayStation 4 moving forward, Yacht Club's Mina the Hollower gets a release date, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Should Sony reform its existing refund system on PSN? Is there an alternate reality where Sony kept the 007 film license in the '90s, thus opening up PlayStation to a series of James Bond games? Should PlayStation explore surprise reveals a la the new Star Fox? Does Colin have a potential business opportunity in the works naming other people's children? A new episode of Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast launches each Friday morning. Maple syrup rules and medical skepticism endangers not only yourself but others too.

A one-two punch of questionable opinions from Colin lol

Colebra

Anyone else get excited that LSM at a surprise announcement when they read the timestamps lol

The thing about Saros’ modifier system, you can go into the settings and turn off the balance system. There’s actually a setting that will allow you to turn on unlimited modifiers

Walker Simmons

A Returnal follow up that doubled down on the rogue like elements with more diversity in the runs and some permanent progression could've been a 10/10 but it's seems like the low completion rate understandably scared them in the opposite direction

I got TMNT splintered fate complete edition for like $3.29 just last week. I honestly don’t even know if I’m going to play it, but it was such a shock that I bought it haha

MnTwinsfan92

I've only played about 2 hours of Saros, and so far have access to three or four weapons. The assault rifle has been the only one I use as well...

Wow Colin finally hit the hard R on Sacred Symbols

You do realize Strauss is a salesman and you’re falling for everything he says, right? “I love your confidence Strauss” do you think he’s going to be mealy mouthed when his job is to amp pre-sales to the moon? Of course he’s talking big, it’s a subjective product.

Aaron

Sorry Chris, James Bond has pulling power, this game will do amazingly well and possibily land a GOTY

As far as older people playing games , I’m at tech at an ISP and I’ll tell you I’ve ran across a decent amount of people in their 70s playing games. Some have those racing rigs and play the IR racing stuff and I’ll always remember this one lady that was concerned about her lagging in Fortnite lol 😂

Dustin is the last hope against corporate shills. Fight the fight brother!

The crossbow is the best weapon in the game. Totally overpowered, it has homing missiles that you can just shoot and blink into an area, and they seek enemies. The shotgun at close range is wonderful, while it does not work for bosses. The number of weapons is secondary. The stat boost matters greatly. While the number is only for drastic gaps. I always switch when the number is bigger than 5 or as soon as the stats align with mine.

The modifier system is for people who would like to change particular parts of the game that they struggle with and play around where they excel at. It is a sophisticated assist mode. Same as the modification in difficulty in Doom The Dark Ages. I'm not even using it. Just don't. What the hell is the problem? It is hard for you and can be easy for someone else? Like, has the sales of Returnal and the "arcade is dead" letter not said enough about why Saros is the way it is?

Germanos

Jesus christ! The same thing, people were talking about battle royale in the DayZ, H1Z1 and PUBG times! When the mode wasn't a thing. Too hardcore. Too stressful. And yet look where the genre went.

GunMetalJackal

Its funny listening to Colin taking shots at Nintendo for releasing Star Fox 64 3 times in a 29 year span when PlayStation has released 3 versions of TLOU 1 in 9 years and 2 versions of Horizon Zero Dawn in a 7 year span.

2:11:06 The main reason I purchase games at a sale (few exceptions) is, the game is gonna be both CHEAPER and in a more POLISHED state. Why would I wanna deal with stupid glitches and bugs PLUS at a higher cost if all I need to have is a little more patience, while saving a few bucks? Makes sense?
