Come on man, keep posting the streams on Patreon. Especially for the sake of keeping ad-free for us that don’t have YT premium. On iPhone, from Patreon, you can full screen the stream, minimize the app to play it in Picture-in-Picture, and then the audio should still play while your phone’s locked

Regarding Sacred Streaming… I don’t know about anyone else but if I minimise the video on demand on Patreon after the stream has finished it continues playing off screen - basically running like a podcast whilst I’m driving, cooking etc. That’s why I’m so confused about everyone being so up in arms about wanting an audio version 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just think it's really weird to not offer what is essentially a podcast, in audio form. Especially since, I think it's as simple as, right click-save stream as mp3-done. I could be wrong, I don't know youtube backend. I kind of understand Colin's reasoning of wanting to grow the YouTube channel. But most people that want an audio version want to listen to it after the stream is over. So they wouldn't be tuning in live anyway. So he wants views on the VOD on YouTube? I'm not a content creator or even into social media so I don't know the "youtube game" he's trying to play. It really is not a big deal and that's why it's so baffling to me. Like what's the big deal about giving your customers options on how to consume your content? And I was not saying the value of LSM is not high. It's a great value. But I still don't get it. If someone could explain and elaborate on Colin's reasoning (without being a dick) I would appreciate it. Also, if he really wanted to grow the YouTube channel, he should start doing video essays on there.

From what I recall most of the comments against Stuttering Craig weren't about him being right wing but that he's part of the grifting community this fanbase (and Last Stand as a whole) largely abhor. I agree with you. I listen to basically everything here with earbuds or in the car, and rarely watch the video. I think the point in this episode that made the most sense, is that not all streaming content is "a podcast", so doing and audio version adds a decision every week ("should there be an audio version of this episode?"). That's annoying and inconsistent, something Colin doesn't want to do. So, *you* are provided options like pay for YouTube premium, convert the episode to mp3, or do some app workaround to get what you want. Not perfect for you, but you can still get what you want

Right, I guess I just don't see more options for your customers as a bad thing. That's the pc gamer in me. If someone wants to listen to Sacred League in the background without watching the video, who cares? That's their personal choice. You can't control how people consume media. If someone wants to watch a Scorsese or Nolan movie on their phone (I think that's crazy) but that's their choice. But hey, what do I know. I'm retarded. Again, not the end of the world. I myself have a workaround. I still think it's weird to not just simply provide an audio version for those that would prefer to consume the content that way. It's a reasonable request. Alas, I understand they are firm on their position, so I shall stand down.

Please continue to post the stream links on Patreon. It makes it easier to find the content and then enjoy it every Monday. You guys have said no audio for streams for over a year at this point. They don’t want to because it’s inconvenient for them and ultimately unnecessary. They want to promote both but don’t want to put the time into making separate versions for such minority of people AND have had people write in and bug/whine about a lack of audio versions for over a year now. You’re just the newest person to be confused or ask for audio versions of YouTube videos and they’ve said multiple times they’re not doing it. To the point the hosts have gotten annoyed. If this change goes through, it’s not entirely your fault, but as your poorly-written letter which answered its own question showed, you either don’t understand or have clearly missed the point(s) of many previous answers.

I wanna play Saros but for me and at least among my friends who game, the price is the single factor preventing any of us for having played it yet. Should have been $50-60. If you’re gonna basically tank at $70, you may as well try and score some fence sitters at a lower price. Just in today’s world $70 is a pretty penny for a non-marquee single player 20ish hour game. I’m positive way more people were interested and backed off when they saw the price than people who were interested at all. I’d argue MUCH more than were put off by Returnal and didn’t want to try the sequel.

I get there's reasons to be wary and concerned with the use of AI going forward, but man Chris in particular goes way overboard with how he talks about it. I almost never complain about these kinds of things but I will be legit pissed if the streams are removed from Patreon just because some idiots still can’t figure out how you can play it with the screen off through the Patreon app by following the steps the top post here described. To be fair, the hosts have never pointed this out and just suggest we pay $15+ for YouTube Premium, not realizing a lot of us don’t use YouTube nearly as much as them. Anyway, as a usual non-complainer this has me quite upset and I hope to see an immediate reversal in this purely spite-based course (and thereafter everyone else needs to finally shut up about the audio versions of streams).

Yea I am not paying for YouTube Premium. I think Colin thinks everyone consumes YT like he does but I actually mostly watch scripted streaming content or otherwise listen to podcasts and support podcast Patreons (like LSM) and spend too much on those already in total. If YT were sub $10 I’d consider it but for me it would almost literally be for Sacred Streaming.

Can I put a simple explanation out for poor game sales, in particular first party games… The price. I’ve always been someone who would usually pick up games day one, however, as someone who earns decent money, I now have to really consider whether I am going to pay €79.99 or €69.99 for a game day one. I will shelve out for a new RE game, and if there’s a new Final Fantasy game is released, I’ll be there… but games like Saros, Hell is Us, even Pragmata, and I know they aren’t all the highest price for a game, but the economic situation has really made me review my spending and I’ve had to pick and choose what I want.

Shift Up got it wrong. If they are prioritizing the other two games, that's a huge mistake. The one who brought them there was Stellar Blade. A sequel should be it's priority while spinning up the other two with separate teams. This isn't to say it won't be a moderate success because... You know... But dusting Sony off will get rid of any padding for them to fight against the market. We will see.
