Sure, there's a lot of anger in our ecosystem right now, but what about all that's upcoming, all that could potentially change our moods? For instance, God of War: Laufey has received a February '27 release date, while compelling rumors indicate Naughty Dog's long-awaited Intergalactic may also grace PlayStation 5 in 2027. With Arc System Works promising tons of fixes for Marvel Tokon (especially on PC) in time for its imminent launch, and with Wolverine just around the corner -- not to mention a ton of third-party fare, too -- maybe it's time we lighten up a little bit. Plus: Dragon Age is seemingly dead, Square Enix lives in perpetual fear of the potential scale of a Final Fantasy VI remake, Crazy Taxi: World Tour solicits players for closed tests, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Why do so many people seem so hostile towards so-called "Gun and Ball" gamers? Is Sony's ever-struggling PlayStation Network ready for the crush it will experience with Grand Theft Auto VI? Does PS5 console exclusive Silent Hill: Townfall's approach to stealth and avoidant gameplay interest us? Will Dustin ever return to the show, or is he too busy going to Ohio to find physical games?

Still no Dustin? 🤔

Thanks for reading my write in guys! Although my name isn't Anthony lol

Physical bros aren't going to get anywhere with Sony until they strictly buy PS5 games 2nd hand. You have to make PlayStation FEEL the missing 10-30% of physical sales for them to do anything, which they won't

AL022

Just writing in that I personally have switched to all digital purchases because I'm so pumped to have my whole library available on the PS6 handheld. I also skipped buying a PS5 pro this past year since I know the PS6 is so close. I'm thrilled for the PS6 and can't wait to transition over. I think the Ray tracing on games will be exciting and I'm also hoping for a smaller form factor on the home console.

Omg I loved the “BITCH YOU AINT NO NERD?!” reference. That scratched a deep itch inside my mind

I approve of this Beatles quote.

Nah, sometimes people need that solace. There are time stamps, t put can easily just fast forward

I’m calling a moratorium on lamenting the closure of Bluepoint like it’s some travesty. If your special talent is recreating something that already exists, it’s not a very interesting talent. Anybody thinking Bluepoint could make a better version of Bloodborne than Miyazaki is insane.

Vladimir Grabbinmikov

This is the halo multiplayer game in development. Its arena and its based on halo campaign evolved gameplay. This leaked forever ago and WAS NOT cancelled. And considering how campaign evolved is the first halo game in years to not look like a cheap piece of shit, I do not understand how this is flying under the radar with the halo diehards. This is not project ekur. More like edurrrr https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1v8lecy/rebs_gaming_follow_up_on_future_of_halo/

I sold my PlayStation. I know it doesn't make a lick of difference, but I'm not trying to effect change at this point. I'm just not their demographic anymore. Aged out. Long as the Nintendo first party keeps on releasing physical I can still play those, but basically I think I'm phasing out of the hobby. Gonna invest in a really good TV and get into movies. There probably will be a totally miniscule amount of dudes like me but PlayStation news and gaming news in general will always be fascinating to me, so keep up the good work everyone. Will keep listening to all the analysis!

"What are you 22?!" Yes actually

StewDog

It's still not showing on RSS feed for me! This is unusual

On the topic of “The Real Game Awards” - I completely agree with Colin that anyone doing something over bitching is commendable. But Craig and this circus act is the most embarrassing, Grummz and - dare I say - JT Smash coded cringe fest on earth. That’s why they’re getting ridiculed over it. A lot of it was just a celebration of negativity, the same things that JT was rightfully killed over. A bunch of dorks sitting in a Dave and Busters giving out “awards” for things like “Best Jiggle Physics” and “Shitty Ass Game of the Year.” So while I don’t think the initiative has a chance to save discs, putting it in the same conversation as this isn’t fair either. They are not the same. Peace and love peace and love.

Greg Horsman

Me as well. Sometimes it takes a few minutes (up to an hour), but now we are at 3 hours. Probably a Patreon back-end issue.

Has not showed up on pocket casts yet witch is weird

My work only gave me 2 weeks. I would have to had taken FMLA to get more time off

Colin said he can take as long as he wants

Alex

The Lockmort episode IS the best ever.

Avery Illies

Is anything you said even certain? The world could end tomorrow.

Avery Illies

From everything I've heard from Matty and Cog that Campaign Evolved is a visual downgrade from the MCC. Are you smoking something?

Screwed Mcfucked

No idea about the financial implications But having a 4th person sitting in as a producer sounds awesome as an experiment. Love Dustin as a host enough to unshackle the boy from those responsities If shaking things up in a drastic way is on the table, that seems like the most sensible way to do it

AL022

That's quite the can of worms you opened there. Why breathe or go to work or interact with society at all, we could just all drop dead.

Chris Evans

Amen dude I don’t come here to listen to all that

Chris Evans

Since someone asked for a hat in the merch I second that. Make it a nice flat bill SnapBack with the logo on it

Party Pooper

“Set the predicate” isn’t funny (or annoying to some) because Colin uses it a lot. It’s because he’s not using the word properly. I’m not going to go back to where he said it before, but I think he means to say “set the precedent”. Predicate, when used as a noun, refers to a part of speech (the part of a sentence that contains a verb and subject), and I can’t find any dictionary that says it can refer to a truth or a pattern.

Grahamer Naughtsi

Can't believe we got an Unforgivable reference lol. That made my day

BigDumbStupidIdiot

The 'Real Game Awards' feels like it only exists to grift from MAGA gamers (nothing wrong with a Trump person!) instead of being a genuine effort better represent how players, not critics, feel about games. The PlayStation Blackout people seem actually care about the death of physical media enough to do SOMETHING instead of just bitching about it

Screwed Mcfucked

If your hardware can support it it's a visual feast. The problem is that it's extremely demanding and on a mid level machine will become a fizzly upscaled blurry mess (Imo halo suffers from high fidelity in general due to all of the varied glowing colors)

Screwed Mcfucked

Cannot imagine the method of delivery being at all important If somebody verbally told me the best story of my life it would be as impermanent as anything but no less impactful

Addison117

If wolverine is 1.0 on disc then you can still be offline from the PSN and play the physical copy of wolverine. The week off should be that week.

Dante B

Completely agree, another great way to put it. It’s the total lack of sincerity. I’m a digital gamer, but the physical movement is a real issue that impacts everyone, even me. An alternate awards show with awards for BEST TITTIES is a click farm at best.

Dante B

Amen. And while this doesn’t apply to everyone, of course, I don’t even believe half of the woe is me stories. At this point people know that Colin is a bleeding heart (a good thing btw) and the sob story is a good way to get your write in read. Every week it’s a new list of people with a dead pet, parent or cancer diagnosis. Yes this is a self aware, cynical, cold and heartless take.

Brandon A

The Halo: Campaign Evolved spoilercast would be a good opportunity to do a Sacred x Duke episode! Unless it’s the same week they’ll be away at Gamescom.

Cameron Sturre

No, you’re right. I’ve distinctly noted a handful of times in recent memory where he’s conflated the two. He’s using it wrong and that’s why it’s annoying.

Alan

Listening to this while playing Gran Turismo 7

KYisLife

Hey Colin, yeah my question wasn’t an accusation but more curiosity because we haven’t seen PlayStation push a pure fighting game before (unless Tekken counts). I was personally interested in the product and it was just free beta with no real buy in. I don’t consider it equivalent to GT for The Show since we’ve seen those for decades. This is something new and I just think it’s interesting.

Cameron Sturre

Halo is definitely half baked. First time booting up the game, Captain Keys dialogue didn’t trigger when he’s supposed to hand you the magnum and then I had a huge audio bug where everything cut in and out and was distorted as hell. All of this was in 10 minutes of game time

A very special boy

Preach. Id like the eulogy section to go, and bring back the wild date stories, and random stories that are more fun. I understand people grieve differently but gummmmon.

Vladimir Grabbinmikov

Ah yes, the two Halo experts Matty and Cog. The game looks like Halo 3 aesthetically in the unreal engine and looks demonstrably better than Halo 4, Halo 5, and Infinite. Like not even close. “From everything I’ve heard from Matty and Cog”…. You don’t get a seat at this table, pal.

Vladimir Grabbinmikov

I’m playing on a base PS5. The only issue I have is the stuttering and 10 fps enemies at times. They look like they’re in stop motion or something and it’ll get blurry. I’m no stranger to stop motion enemies because they’re all over Halo 5 and Infinite. Those games’ art direction along with 4 are actually terrible though. CHEAP. CHEAP. CHEAP. The visuals and art direction for the majority of Campaign Evolved look great. The flood levels in particular look fantastic.

Maxx Lazos

Unforgivable reference gave me chills. One of the first youtube vids I ever watched. S tier deep cut colin

>concord >fairgames (doa) >last of us online >bungie/destiny 2 Colin: you guys just don’t get it. I do though. Yeah, it’s gonna be SONY to be the one to break the foothold into the Fortnite market. Keep at it guys!

Jordan campos

I’m your producer. You just don’t know it yet. Talk to you soon.

Whiner

Colin is so right about people never truly celebrating the great games that come out. I still remember the conversation around among thieves and how great it was there are never moments like that anymore because the vocal minority is always gonna find something to pick at

Supes

wait til people find out about how he uses “nonetheless” when he means “let alone,” LSM community will be in shambles lolol

Tommy the sniper

Would love to see Matty on the Halo spoiler cast. Matty has been pretty critical on it and would be great to see him in the conversation with whoever else is on show.

Walk Forward Cutscene

I guess you and Colin were in a coma when Requiem and Pragmata released this year? Just because people shit on the latest Sony live-service slop, doesn’t mean people “hate everything.”

hopscotchington

Has to breathe. Most people are on auto-pilot and just go to work without thinking. Gamer, doesn't interact with society. The physical game collector must collect. When the world ends there will only be .. the collection

TheWubbz

Colin there is ranked in fighting games for a reason. You can just play people close to you in skill level. Ranked is usually the best mode in fighting games because of this

Chris Evans

The problem it’s it’s every week or every other week now. I understand ever once in awhile but we’re not here to eulogize everyone’s pets and family every week

Johnny Lamotte

100% Colin is Herman hulst with a podcast and he just doesn’t get it lol love em tho

ZakBlade

The PS Blackout discussion felt inconsistent and maybe hypocritical. We’re complaining that they aren’t doing the blackout in September when it would really hurt Sony, but we’re also calling out that the Call of Duty beta is happening during the window they did choose and will probably drown out the blackout group anyway. September would’ve been way worse for that because people who have always been digital only are going to play so much more in September because there’s so many games coming out. Colin also keeps talking about physical gamers like they’re some collective. We are a bunch of individual people. We don’t have an obvious leader. You need an obvious leader to do the really hard stuff of getting millions of people to agree on how to send the message. When Colin lost his PS account, he was able to do something about it because of who he was. Physical gamers don’t have a big public person to tell everyone what to do to send the message, and we normies don’t have the behind the scenes connections to Sony to do things that way either, so everyone is trying to do their own thing to let Sony know that this bothers us. We don’t have the power he does, so nitpicking line by line through the letter of someone without power who is trying to do something is a little rude, especially when you’re constantly claiming that you’re not trying to nitpick when that’s exactly what you’re doing. I love listening to you guys and keep being awesome, but please keep in mind that it’s harder for us normal people to send a message to these big companies when we don’t have an audience and we don’t have connections in the industry.

Walk Forward Cutscene

Chris went from making a 30 minute video about how sprint and advanced mobility negatively impact Halo’s gameplay loop to just lazily agreeing with Colin that sprint is good in Halo now. C’mon man
