Sorry for the lengthy write-in. I'm sure many people will be writing in with their "Sort It Outs" for PlayStation. However, I'd like to take a different approach. Summoners, what three things need to be done to get PlayStation back on track? Here's what I think needs to be done. Step 1 — New leadership. This is non-negotiable. Whether it's the endless, fruitless pursuit of an objectively dying genre in live service, or the complete and utter mismanagement of PlayStation Studios, someone has to pay. Give the job to Eric Lempel. Give it to Shawne Benson. Hell, hire Shu back. See if you can get Ted Price to come out of retirement. If Neil is down, give it to him. What about Nicolas Doucet? Literally anyone would be better at this point. Step 2 — Bungie, Haven, and teamLFG need to be shut down or sold, and any and all remaining live-service projects must be canceled. Bungie has poisoned the well. I don't give a fuck what anyone says. They have poisoned the culture. Who died and made them the live-service gods? Who the fuck do they think they are telling Naughty Dog how to make a live-service game? As if they know. Marathon is evidence enough of that. They need to go. Sell them to the Saudis for all I give a fuck. It is a crying shame that Haven has made it this far. Put them out of their fucking misery. Fairgame$/Break In is destined to fail. I know Death Stranding didn't sell all that well, and there were concerns about Physint running over budget, missing deadlines, and not being a permanent PlayStation exclusive, but maybe you should have sold Bungie and shut down Haven first before letting Kojima go. Step 3 — It's time for Sony to go back to what brought them to the dance. It is no coincidence that Sony's biggest successes this generation are the same as their biggest PS4 successes. Single-player, narrative-driven, third-person action-adventure games are Sony. It's what brought them to the promised land. Games like Until Dawn, Uncharted, Horizon, God of War, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Death Stranding, The Last of Us, Ghost of Yotei, Ghost Of Tsunami, Astro Bot, Ratchet & Clank, Returnal, Saros, and Gran Turismo are what define PlayStation. Stop swimming against the tide and do what you do best, Sony. Make best-in-class, single-player, narrative-driven, third-person action-adventure games. It's what brought you to the dance. Live service will kill you. In closing, do y'all agree or disagree with the three decisions I've outlined? If you do, please tell me one way or another.

Yo, Locktavious Jackson! What was up with that ending for Control? I was watching your stream and it was clear you were confused and a bit frustrated by the conclusion. I still haven’t played the game and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but what a weird ending.

Hello Elliscraft III ReBradged, The Blood of Mattwalker, and Belgian Wars Lock Company: You three find yourself in the outskirts of Belgium where Lockmort reveals himself to be a vampire, biting you both and turning you into Dawnwalkers. He then kidnaps your direct and extended families. On your way to destroy Lockmort - you must team up and fight his two other generals: Vampire Grimace and Vampire Michelin man. Which one will each of you take on? What is your vampire power? Will you be able to get to Lockmort as he speaks to you in a Belgian French dialect? Enjoy your day and have a great rest of the week

Keep It Up Nintendo, I was very happy with both Directs even if Four Swords Adventures and Twilight Princess didn’t come to Switch 2 yet. The port heavy presentation made using my Switch a more appealing option in the current age while I boycott PlayStation. There may be a little stink but if the game runs well and I can have fun, then why have multiple consoles when I can have one on the go? Bonus Keep It Up to Shift Up for putting all of Stellar Blade on the cartridge. Thank you for your donation.

Walk Forward Cutscene

My sort it out this week is for the host himself. How are you more sensitive about a mod for The Blood of Dawnwalker than Sprint being added to a remake of Halo:Combat Evolved by default?

Dayngls

So Is Lock a co-host of this show?

Nevets

Keep it up Sega! I'm not happy about the AI use, but the Crazy Taxi World Tour network test was awesome! As a launch day Dreamcast customer, I fully approve of this game! The controls are perfect! If this is the how you start your retro revival initiative, you have my blessing! Let's just hope that Golden Axe TV show is actually good, though.

Hey Chad, Chatty, and Chadmort, This write-in is for Matty. I rolled credits on Dawnwalker and couldn't help but draw a direct comparison to the ending of New Vegas. I was just curious if he felt the same way. I think the player agency Dawnwalker gives you over the fate of Vale Sangoura is very reminiscent of New Vegas and how you basically decide the fate of the Mojave. I'm not saying it's a one-to-one comparison, but I wouldn't be surprised if New Vegas was an inspiration here. One thing I thought was especially cool was how both games have that sort of sideshow at the end showing you the ramifications of all the decisions you made and how they affected the world. That felt really similar to me and I just think it's cool seeing RPGs borrow ideas from each other and build on things that came before them. I also feel like Dawnwalker's time mechanic was inspired by the first Fallout, just because of how similar the stakes are. Anyways, I guess I'll go take a bath with my playstation because it's a "sony fucked over my boy" kind of day.

What a group we have here! KEEP IT UP NINTENDO!! I think as a Community we are under valuing The Nintendo line up they have for the upcoming months plus the amazing collection on the NSO it has really made up for the continuous ports of WII U games… Have a one random day on X they just drop Twilight princess kind of day.

Extra Ammo Idea: Dark Tank D&D featuring DM Micah

Sort it out: people who complain there is too much to read in Control. The documents really add to the world-building and from what I can remember, make perfect sense being there, as you are in what is essentially a giant office building. The aversion to reading needs to be stigmatized. Go read an actual book, you illiterate fucks. Or at the very least, shut the fuck up about the relatively paltry amount of reading in Control.

Keep it Up Xbox Physint is saved! Kojima gets to make another divisive game again! It’s great to see Xbox’s willingness to live and please their core audience. It’s the type course correction you want to see from Sony rather than a total downfall. Companies should be punished and rewarded based on their actions, in the name of competition, for the benefit of consumers.

I've been summoned, While the year has been great I feel there was a lack of standout rpgs (except for one Matty keeps ignoring) but dawnwalker fills that void perfectly. I love the combat and i can easily lose hours in it. Also shoutout to rebel wolves and bandai for the physical edition. The steel book is beautiful. My question is where does this rank in top 10 of the year so far? Also I'm glad you had good vacation Matty. Sorry that is now over #gothicgate

Hello Mr Bradley, Mr Matty, & Mr Lock! This question is for Lock because it’s about Star Wars: Zero Company. What is your history with tactical RPGs and how are the difficulty (or lack of) in Zero Company? I played on Normal because the only other Tactical RPG i’ve played was Mario + Rabbids. I found the game to be exceedingly easy. I beat the game without losing anyone, and in the 40 missions I only had a handful of injuries. I was able to stick to a core group of strong operators and I felt like they could handle anything. My core team was Hawkes, Jae, Cly and Trick, with Kabb Uppercut (the GOAT) being next in line if I had an injury. I also know you’re big on story, but I’m not sure how you feel about Star Wars. Personally, I think these are some of the best written star wars characters in video games, i love their little interactions at the base and the options conversations with each of them between missions. My biggest gripe, outside of difficulty, is that there’s no postgame, it’s just over after Mission 40 (ish). I 95% love it, I might even run through it again. Best, Ghost of JS

Hello summoners. With the release of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation in April. Will this be the last time when we hear the phrase “ the epic conclusion to the (blank) trilogy” in the next 10 years? Man, I do miss having game trilogies. Mass effect, Uncharted, Gears, Halo, God of War, Batman Arkham, Bioshock, and Dark Souls. All these trilogy’s come out in a 7-10 year window. Now we be lucky to get one game in that time frame. That’s why I give CD Project Red props with this commitment to a new Witcher trilogy. Which should be finish by 2035. I know game development takes so much longer these days and developers don’t want to be committed to 3 games. But maybe they should? Maybe having a trilogy planned could help devs have a North Star. Like the FF remake team.

Summoners! This is mostly for Brad and Matty, but I'm curious if you guys ever played the .hack franchise? I remembered loving the anime, .hack//SIGN, and recently completed the unreasonably expendive task of collecting the physical complete copies of all the ps2 titles. I've been playing through the first of the original quadrilogy, Infection, and it's so interesting seeing how CyberConnect2 made a single player game feel like a online MMO. Did you guts ever try out these original series, or the sequel series, .hack//G.U.? And are you guys interested in the new .hack game that was announced recently, //Z.E.R.O.?

What’s up summoners I what to give a major KEEP IT UP to one and only Lockmort. Lock after watching your Dawnwalker I decided to pick it up still getting into it but I like what it’s doing. Also, lock has been the top player of LSM recently, appearing on multiple shows and streams and always being such a delightful person all together. You rock and never forget that. Thanks and have a “remember to thank the person after you’ve sucked them dry” kind of day.

Hey "Mashing Square" Brad, "Giant Sonar Pulse Coming Off a Pack of Cigarettes" Lock, and "Fart Trail Sniffing" Matty; Wolverine is everything wrong with PlayStation first party games cranked to 11. Single button combat, fugly characters, and handholds so hard it's genuinely insulting. Logan constantly reminding you what's going on, a giant fucking beacon blasting off collectibles, and that fart trail. Does Insomniac think PlayStation gamers are so fucking stupid they can't walk down a straight hallway without getting lost? 'Bluey's Quest For The Gold Pen' (I have kids) respects the intelligence of children more than Insomniac trusts a M-rated audience. I hope Wolverine is a wake up call for PlayStation gamers. You deserve more respect from first party studios.

The Diddler

Sort it out to all you developers that pad out your games. Please, Stop! You end up making your games worse. Onimusha is the latest culprit. This could have been game of the year, but you stretched the game out for about 8 hours too long. Onimusha is meant to be replayed, but I don’t even feel like replaying it. I hope developers are learning that making the game longer doesn’t mean better. Looking at you square and FF7 Revelations. All the gameplay you’ve shown has not gotten me excited.

Justin Marion

SORT IT to Matty. How did you play so many Resident Evils to get ready for Requiem, but skip Resident Evil 1 Remake?! Ive seen plenty of videos your in giving credit to Evil Within for things done in RE1 Remake, like the burning of bodies. Play the damn game... also The Sinking City 2 is a gem worth playing, its a perfect mixture of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. SORT IT OUT!

Zebulon

Hello Summoners, With all the discourse around Wolverine's heavy hand-holding it's got me thinking, what are some memorable linear games that made exploration and level progression intuitive and fun with little-to-no hand holding?

Izzy Smalls

Hey fellas, I felt like being the devils advocate this week and give a sort-it-out to Hideo Kojima. I get that Sony has been fucking up lately but does Kojima not get ANY blame for the Physint situation?? One of the reasons Metal Gear 5 was unfinished was because it was way over budget and not meeting its milestones. Sound familiar? Sony rolled out the red carpet for him and funded 2 goofy ass big budget games only for him to go to Xbox for OD. We have seen jack shit of OD and it doesnt even have a release window...and Physint is supposed to release AFTER that. I know Kojima is a legend but MAYBE its not a coincedence that 2 companies told him to gtfo. Hopefully Hideo sorts it out so we get Physint before 2040. Peace

Monroe’s Girthy Doctrine

Lock, who are your top 3 favorite squad members in Zero Company and how do you feel it compares to the xcom franchise?

Dante B

Hey SS crew, Today is one of the best days I’ve had in gaming in years. I’ve played Warcraft 3 almost daily since 2002. I can’t express how happy I am that we got an actual expansion pack and new hero today, the first real new content since Frozen Throne in 2003. I’m loving it so far. The campaign is fun (even if it is just a glorified custom campaign/mod), the new hero is slick (but overpowered), and I’ll take anything that pushes more people into the multiplayer scene. I don’t really trust modern day Blizzard to make a quality Warcraft 4, but as long as they keep supporting this game with balance patches and updates I’m more than happy.

Jordan Falduto

Brad and Lock, I need a gut check - was that the best Blizzcon we've seen in a long ass time? A new Starcraft open world shooter, Diablo 5 revealed, a new Hearthstone class, Vanilla+ is coming in WoW Forever, and most stunning of all - a shadow drop for a new hero class and campaign for 23 year old Warcraft 3! Are we so back?

William Fellows

Good Morning Summoners! I'd like to issue a firm Sort It Out to the "Professional Haters" They are the ones quick to jump in and tell you how the VII trilogy is some master plan to get people to spend $180 on one game or how OoT Remake is killing the feel of the original game. If you dig a little deeper you see people who haven't said a positive thing about any game for a decade. If you can't find one game to enjoy with all that is coming out this last half of the year you aren't into videogames, hang it up.

Hello Gents, Since we have the European back onto the show, I thought I ask a euro centric question. As the industry leaves the US and goes to cheaper alternatives like Eastern Europe and Asia, should we feel sad that these talented people will be getting paid less? I know cost of living is cheaper compared to America in these parts but it makes me kinda upset that to help the bottom line, the worker still gets the short end of the stick (not to mention the bad work conditions in a lot of Asian countries). Is this just the future of games, someone will always get the short end of the stick? And do these places even care since the cost of living is different compared to places like America? Anyway, I hope my question makes sense. Have a great week gents!

Dr Doomfist

Sort it out fanbases of everything online. Almost every game I've played for the last year I have thoroughly enjoyed. All of my close friends are "ball and gun" gamers (meant endearingly) so I try and find places online to read discussion on games and it's nearly 95% negative about anything. Most recent seeing all of the BlizzCon announcements and I think it all sounds cool and then I check the comments and apparently it's supposed to be the worst thing ever. I know we say this over and over but it's just exhausting I appreciate y'all as well as Mattys personal channels when talking about games/news even when there's negative news and there's been a lot of that recently for SURE, but just the way y'all discuss them is more manageable and less exhausting

Hey, everyone! Nintendo just started their Customer Appreciation sale and Astral Chain is on sale for $42. I have heard nothing but good things, but am still hesitant to pull the trigger; simply because I think it might pale in comparison to other games I am looking forward to (Control Resonant, FF7 Revelation, etc.). Do you think it is worth checking out on Switch 2 in 2026, or should I just let this one go to focus on new releases?

Ray Briggs

Just a quick inquiry today. PlayStation and Insomniac had to know Wolverine was going to be more on the 7/8 side than the 9/10 side. Why did they send out review builds so early? They had to know, given the Sonys state with gamers right now, that anything less than a great game would be weaponized against then. While I'm not cancelling my preorder off the negative press, many are. They don't owe anyone review builds, why not hold it?

I changed my name so you'd read it

What up boys Keep it up to Blizzard - I know there's a lot of announcements that have been important but nothing moreso than Warcraft 3 getting an extra campaign. I've long wished for the demise of WoW so that they'd finally give me Warcraft 4, and this is about as close as I can get. All hail Blizzard RTS games. Hope your summers are winding down beautifully P.S. I know the timing doesn't make sense but I was secretly hoping Matty & Lock were doing this in person in Bruges or something

Booga the heart breaker

Good day gents, I have a sort it out for Nintendo and third party devs. What the hell is with games coming months later to switch 2? 007 still not out, lego batman coming soon, borderlands presumably not coming…. Now p4 revival has a three month gap. How long are we gonna keep tolerating this delay shit

Giorgio

Hey Matty, most important question for Summon Sign: Did you smash Anca in Dawnwalker or what? Asking for a friend.

zepplinmike

Hey Summoners, Lock, I’m the guy who wrote in a couple weeks back about your interest in Zero Company. Very glad to see you were able to jump in! What do you think of the changes compared with the XCOM games and Midnight Suns. Personally I love the enhanced cinematic elements and immersion elements and I hope they continue to add to that while maintaining the excellent tactics gameplay. Also, there’s one thing about this game that I don’t think is getting enough attention: Its title is literally “ZCOM”!

JP

Hey Summoners, Lock, how are you enjoying Control? Is this your first time through or a replay before Control: Resonant? I find the atmosphere and style of Remedy games to be truly iconic and top class in the industry. Please convince Matty that this is a series he needs to set aside time to experience.

Snickled

Sort it out Sony, but not for the obvious reasons. They need to sort out their advertising. There’s been lots of talk about how Sony doesn’t care about the type of consumer who listens to LSM. But I have no idea who they think their consumer is. They have this ad that plays on streaming services constantly that is maybe the worst ad I’ve ever seen. It’s these weird close ups of 20-somethings women of various races until who I assume is an NBA player is randomly shown and makes no sense in the context of everything else in the ad. It’s just terrible and kind of unpleasant to watch. I guarantee that a weird looking 24 year old chick on a speedboat is not who is buying the PS6 day one or cares about Wolverine. It’s just another example of Sony completely losing their identity because I’ve seen this ad probably 30 times now and I have no idea who it is supposed to appeal to.

NeighBuRrR

Game recommendation for one that I absolutely loved this year that fell way under the radar, Sovereign Tower. Its hard to briefly explain the game, but it's a management sim/ visual novel with some time travel mixed in. Recruit your Knights of the round table, each with very unique personalities, tons of choice and consequence, choose the type of ruler you want to be all while working within the games time limit where looming threats come knocking at your day each chapter. 12-15 hour game and second playthroughs become much shorter as you gain knowledge of the world and trust me, once your hooked you will definitely want to go for that second run. Highly recommend

SneakerHead24

Hey Summoners, Sort it out………Matty! For so quickly celebrating Microsoft “acquiring” Kojima. Just months after the company saying they need to cut spending and with over half of the layoffs they plan to make this fiscal near still needing to be made, they decide to spend whatever obscene amount of money on Kojimas new game that decades longtime partner Sony couldn’t see the value in. So who suffers to pay the price for this? And for what? Spite? I think there’s a reason it took 3 months to make a deal happen. You’re talking about a game that, if started, is built on an engine Sony owns so either they got paid out or it will come to PlayStation after a timed exclusive, or needs to start development from scratch. Did you consider what other studio or studios will pay for this decision.

Marcus

Whats up Summon crew, Brad I know you felt like Dawnwalker time system wasn't strict enough and was wondering if Lock or Matty agreed. I beat the game in 36ish hours, level 39, completed all proper fleshed out side quests and still had 3 days left (including flying bugs quest, if you know you know). At first I felt the pressure overthinking at the beginning but I realised most of the maps ? locations are just witch shrines, monster dens, bandit camps etc. So i didn't really bother once I got half way through when I realised they are not thats fleshed out. Im excited for a sequel with the success of this game, overall think its incredible and got me seriously in the mood for Witcher 3 remaster! Good day sirs, Lacra best girl.. we love them feisty CLAWS!
