With the news that Nintendo will be running a customer appreciation sale thanks to tariff refunds, I wanted to get the Punchers' take on this perplexing situation. I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, especially with their competition doing nothing, but this "sale" comes off as insanely performative. Not unlike getting half off a mattress on Presidents' Day. Nothing's stopping Nintendo from putting their games 30% off. It's weird seeing people praise this thinly veiled attempt to make more money. No one forced consumers to buy the Switch 2 at the inflated tariff prices, but that doesn't excuse the fact that tariff refunds don't magically make games 30% off. That's not how this works. In the end, I don't wanna belabor the point too much. At least they're doing something, but it doesn't change the fact that tariff refunds don't work like this. Just like mattresses don't suddenly become half off on Presidents' Day, Veterans Day, or any other excuse to have a sale on a federal holiday.

Punchers of Justice I just realized, I’m just like that other guy who always writes in (BigDumbStupidIdiot). With the Customer Appreciation Sale announcement, I’ve already ordered Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Mario Galaxy 1+2 (physically of course). I’m considering getting Kirby’s Return to Dream Land as well! Nintendo games almost never have a price drop and NO I don’t actually HAVE TO EAT. Unless, Micah wants to send some ribs my way.

Howdy Punchers! I just want to give a quick shout out to my fellow bounty hunters out there in the Metroid fanbase for putting in the work this week. Not only by being welcoming and enthusiastic for everyone getting into the series for the first time, but for sharing all their cool Metroid art projects, replaying all the old games, and just celebrating what we love about the series in ways which some fandoms, like the Sonic fans or Resident Evil fans, never could. And on top of that, Metroid Dread is now number 1 on the Switch e-shop for the US? To borrow a quote from Backrooms, “I like it here”.

I’m gonna keep banging this particular drum on bringing back Constellation. Rebrand as Stelly. Episodes go up on Sunday. There is NO topic requirement. It’s literally just whatever assortment of people Micah (the host) can wrangle, just BSing for a couple hours. I’m just saying, the whole “Constellation ran its course” thing is because of unnecessary constraints. Hell, don’t even require a set host. I think that variety sounds awesome. I just think that LSM’s value extends beyond simply what you guys have to say about video games. I like you guys as people, not just industry commentators. Am I crazy to ask for this? What is the real cost of making a feel-good hangout pod? Appearance fees plus however long it takes to be edited? Anyway, #BringBackStelly

Hello my favorite podcast on LSM. I have a question for the Magic Conch. The Gamestop around the corner where I work is hiring. I been on the fence about applying there for a part time job. Half of me thinks it'll be fun but another part of me thinks it will be a nightmare. Hello my favorite sock fetish podcast. Do you think the reason we still haven't gotten the HD Versions of windwaker and twilight princess is because Nintendo is planning on remaking them as well? As someone who is now only really getting into Nintendos catalog I hope they are as going back especially to the N64 is nightmare with that controller.

Hey punchers, Why does Nintendo get a pass for “anti-consumer” practices. -All their games are licenses -they sell $25 skins / dlc behind amiibo -they have exclusives -they have proprietary hardware -their controllers are expensive -their first party games rarely, if ever go on sale And the list goes on. I’m not saying I disagree or agree with all their practices, but if you had a quiz and just left the company name out of the question, people would probably confuse Sony and Nintendo.

Hey Punching Gang, With the Ocarina of Time Remake coming, and that Switch 2 themed console (which will be scalped to hell), I got to ask; will we ever see the end of remakes / remasters? Do you generally prefer a remake or a sequel and which game franchise do you hope to see get a new entry? For me, I want XCOM 3. Wasn’t it on that Nvidia leak? Howdy Mario Up-B's, With news last week of Star Fox Adventures hitting NSO, do you remember the first video game that disappointed you? Star Fox Adventures was the first game that disappointed me. I was a massive Star Fox 64 fan as a kid and I was hyped for what felt like AGES for Star Fox Adventures. The game released when I was 8 or so and I was so let down by how mid it was.

Whatup Punchers, Not to dickride Nintendo too much, but man, I'm loving my Switch 2 and it's a GOOD time to be a fan. It's feeling ironic to be a Nintendo fan again. I grew up with Nintendo, then went to xbox when I was an edgy teen, to PlayStation when Don Mattrick stepped on his dick, and now back to Nintendo because PlayStation is making Donnie look like a genius, AND because holy shit, Nintendo has a better exclusive lineup for Switch 2 in its first year than PS5 has in five years. I can play on the couch or in bed or on my TV -- awesome. I have re-learned to enjoy single-player gameplay-first games, and Nintendo makes a ton of them -- holy shit. Switch 2 is getting awesome 3rd party support -- Monster Hunter Wilds, Diablo IV, and for the first time in what feels like forever, COD? I don't give a witches tit about COD, but that's a big deal. That's a lot, I know. But man, being a Nintendo fan is a good time these days. P.S. to Micah -- enjoy KCD2!

Micah, If Treble and Rush somehow became human beings overnight, which one do you think would make the best replacement for Shigeru Miyamoto at Nintendo? Based on their personalities, what types of projects do you think each of them would greenlight? Are there any dormant Nintendo IPs you could see Treble or Rush bringing back? Hello Punching up crew, Over the weekend I finally finished Adventures of Elliot. A Zelda-like I struggled to connect with at first after playing the perfection that was Mina earlier in the year. However, once I started branching out from the main story and did the side quests I found myself significantly enjoying the game more. Even putting in the extra hours to get the true ending of the game (which had a fantastic final boss sequence). So, with that said. What are some recent examples of a game being saved by its optional content for you?

Hey there Punching Up gang, I'd love to hear your thoughts about the new Kirby game that was revealed at the Nintendo Direct last week. I'm really curious what you think the main gimmick or hook of the game will be. Based on the trailer revealing that there is a world beyond this initial dome Kirby is in, it makes me wonder if this game will be going for something similar to Donkey Kong Bananza's layers, but instead of layers, they are domes, with each additional dome you break through being a sort of different themed world or area to explore. If that is what they are going for, I think it could be super cool. Thoughts about this idea or just about the game in general? Are you excited for it and what are you hoping to they do with the game?
