Summoners, are we overreacting to a survey? Recent reporting from Windows Central indicates that Xbox has sent out a survey asking players about potential exclusivity. I ask if we're overreacting because surveys like this are sent out all the time. But that doesn't necessarily mean things are changing. Take a recent Sony survey asking devs their opinions on ending physical disc production. It remains to be seen what the results of this survey will be, but given Sony's actions, I highly doubt they're reversing course. Likewise, given Xbox's recent actions of consolidating almost all of its studios and biggest IPs into historically third-party publishers like Activision and Bethesda, I doubt things are going to materially change on the exclusivity front. Personally, I get a survey a month or two after every EA UFC game comes out. I've gotten this same survey since the first EA UFC game. One of the most common questions they ask is what celebrities I'd like to see in a UFC game. Every year a UFC game comes out and I get the survey, The Rock is always one of the options for me to pick. Has The Rock showed up in an EA UFC game? The answer is no. So I leave this question to you: are we overreacting?

Greetings summoners! I want to issue a big “keep it up” to our fearless leader, Brad. Specifically, I’d like to highlight your ability to ask quality questions that paint a better picture when someone is speaking about a game you’ve never played. Also, I love the tournament/top games lists you’ve been doing on SS. I know some people think they’re a waste of time but they’re genuinely fun and interesting to listen to. Especially when it’s clear it is an off the cuff list and isn’t to be taken too seriously. It’s just fun. Cheers <3

Brad, How are you finding Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse? I think the gameplay is super solid with quick and fluid combat, platforming, and creative design but these run-backs to the boss rooms are brutal and lengthy. What say you?

Howdy Sweet Baby Corn Ellis and Daddy Cog - with the Huge Hog - Nito, I’ve been loving Belmont’s Curse. It got me thinking - “metroidvania level and gameplay design is my personal favorite, and I think the overall BEST way a game can lay its world out” I think my favorite is when the game gets the exploration and reward loop just right; Think of all the optional areas and rewards in Silksong, Elden Ring (not a metroidvania but shares this DNA strand) Bloodstained, Symphony of the Night. I understand the resources it takes to design hidden levels with unique mechanics, optional boss fights and then paying off with worthwhile weapons/gear is a feat few games pull off well. What do you guys think makes a GOOD metroidvania? What makes the genre so special in your eyes?

Then Lord Addict showed up, then Lord Sovereign… and yet we’re still missing the Incredible Hulk of this aka the excess gamer, “Ooo,” the Prophet of XBOX, "Swami", King of the Statues. He demands nothing less than that premium experience and is the ascended one of the XBOX platform movement. Beloved Lord King David. Cog, it’s time to complete the saga and get King David on Summon Sign. Maybe with his energy on Last Stand Media he can finally tone down the Green Reaper curse once and for all. Have an “I hope your favorite game didn’t get into the Disc to Digital program” kind of day.

What’s up boys. I feel like this is the PERFECT combo of dudes to get some motivation. Boys I drink every day. From a single beer after my daughter goes to bed, a day of drink and everything in between. For me it’s a way of winding down or having fun but you two being the more health-conscious of the bunch I would like your alternatives. Cog I know you also enjoy a drink so could you explain your relationship with alcohol and boundaries if any you set? Have a “no carbs for me please, I’m saving that for beer.” Kind of day

Summon Boys, please permit me two game recommendations: If you are a fan of Nier and Stellar Blade, check out Beast of Reincarnation. While it isn't as polished as the aforementioned bangers, it is a solid AA effort. In that same vein, if you love the Resident Evil remakes, I'd recommend Sinking City 2. Again existing in the AA space, it is a solid clone of the RE2 Remake in terms of gameplay. Give them both a chance!

Cog, Please tell me Final Fantasy Resonance is as dope as it looks! And if so, do you think this 2D-HD style is what SquareEnix should follow for future FF games, or do you think there is room to go back and forth between the modern style and this one? I have a keep it up for SANDISK. My WD Black SSD failed in my PS5 Pro and I was easily able to get it replaced under warranty at no cost. At the time of purchase I didn't register the drive but was able to retroactively register it on their site. Also, the warranty service request was easy and quick. I highly recommend SANDSK SSD's because of their excellent 5 year warranty and customer service.

Im hyped for this week's summoning of to powerful gamers. Im sure the discord of Gears E-day has worn thin but have either of you seen Laura Fryer's take on the game. She is a developer that worked on the first two games. I keep hearing how people's take on the story focus shifting away from Marcus and Dom are just women hating chuds but this is coming from a Woman that help create this world. Thoughts? Does the next Gears game need to sort it out or keep it up? Cheers to Health is wealth! Ps. Im loving Belmontes curse.

Hey Summoners, This one is for Cog. I recently wanted more horsepower in my handheld PC and did an Xbox Ally X. I do enjoy it but Windows sure does stink on this sometimes. Any tips to make this guy more portable and any games that don't freak out when you go to sleep? Keep it up for all you guys do.

Hey Brad, I heard Colin mention he thought Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse was difficult compared to prior entries with a MetroidVania design on sacred symbols this past week. Where do you rank this in difficulty? I’m currently feeling that it’s tough but fair, but don’t have a a ton of Castlevania experience. Side note: Love hearing you, Cog, and others talk fitness on the network. It’s good to have that motivation coming from my primary source for gaming discourse. Have a “Just took a sip of preworkout and I’ve immediately gotta take a shit” kind of day.

Greetings my fellow Summon Seniors. It’s spooky season and I know games are hell right now but I can’t believe no one has brought up Aliens Fireteam Elite 2. This game is awesome, it’s basically a left 4 dead game set in the alien universe but with 6 awesome classes to choose from. The campaign is basic but fun decently challenging and best of all the game is only $50 probably cheaper by now. Anywho love the pod keep up the good work Boys.

Brad, you tall bastard, I’ve got a game recommendation. In the sea of indie titles that never get the spotlight and heavens knows none of us have time to play shit with everything releasing literally every week…. Give “Hunt the night” a glance if you somehow find the time. Its bloodborne meets a link to the past meets with a hint of resident evil and the art and animation of the escapist. Found it randomly on PSN gave it a go and had an absolute blast.

Good day, summoners. Do you always play on normal for the first playthrough, or on a lower difficulty? If you do lower the difficulty, what would push you to do it? Personally, I would play on easier difficulties if there’s no rewards or trophies for higher difficulties, and I want to have a chill experience. Brad - I’ve never played Castlevania before and I’m not the biggest fan of the “squiggly-map-syndrome” of Metroidvanias (Prince of Persia and Hollow Knight are the exceptions), but I’m a big fan of the Castlenavia anime. Would you recommend Belmont’s curse to someone like me?
