With the news that God of War: Laufey has been delayed to May 20th, combined with Kena being delayed into 2027, Bend and Media Molecule potentially releasing next year, Intergalactic looming, and the inevitable Venom game, is this delay simply a matter of first-party air traffic control being jammed? While February is stacked, Laufey had nothing to fear. If anything, Tomb Raider and Fable had everything to lose. As a massive God of War fan, I'll take a three-month delay over a less-than-stellar release. I know the Sacred boys are infamous for their disinterest in God of War, but am I onto something with my theory of the case as it relates to Laufey's reason for being delayed?

Greetings CDC. My PlayStation account has been hacked. I spent yesterday’s afternoon speaking to customer support with no success (4 separate phone calls). My guess is that the new information created by the hacker is taking precedence with security questions. I’ve made several posts, reaching out to Sony and PlayStation social accounts with no replies. I’ve also posted on the Last Stand Media subreddit, trying to make public the full breakdown of events (including screenshots of the hacker emailing me). The community has been incredibly supportive and helpful. My last plea is if I could somehow gain your assistance? I will be happy to answer any questions, provide valid identification if need be, and will be fully cooperative with any way you think this should be handled. I know how you guys feel, this is heartbreaking. Thanks in advance.

Hello my sacred succulent sluts, Are there any games out on the horizon that you're most anticipating? Doesn't have to be close to release or have a date at all. GTA VI is close enough where that doesn't count, and maybe something like Judas is Colin's, but just wondering what game out there *exists* in development in some level that you anticipate more than all. Me? The Division 3. Please keep doing horrible things to those chickens. I love you. Steve Carley

Megan Fox

Hey Colin, are you nda’d about the Lillymo situation??

Robert Friemering

Greetings Sacred Ones, just a message for Chris. May your powers of manifesting most games you want never dwindle.

KB

Sorry to hear that, man. I hope you’re able to get your account back. I know it’s not required of him, but hopefully Colin can get you in touch with someone who can help recover it.

Hey fellas, adding to the Sucker Punch discussion last week. I think a cool direction for Sucker Punch to go in is maybe a third person crime drama. Kind of like a GTA clone that’s exclusive to PlayStation with a high budget. I can definitely see a Sleeping Dogs type of game from Sucker Punch. Thoughts?

Robert

Howdy Amigos, Sam Altman says that we should sacrifice our personal ram for the betterment of data centers, how do ya'll feel about this fascinating proposal, and is this perhaps the most egregious and unreasonable statement from a CEO ever? Cheers, Robert

Alex Affonso

Hello, gents. I want your 15 minute discussion on a further topic regarding the physical media that might pass by unnoticed. Sony has announced it will stop produce 4k Blu-ray players. Currently the only way to play a Blu-ray is through a PS5. With PS6 being digital only this is looking dire as Blu-ray disc's sales are rising 2 digits last year. As Disney has handed disc printing and distribution to Sony a few years ago, do you think this is a more-then-aggressive way of pushing people to the inegotiable digital streaming world? Or will we rely in Chinese no-brands as people are doing already for portable cd and mp3 players? Keep up being a voice for all gamers.

Whattup Sacred Bruhs, Reading the news this week about Gran Turismo 7's continued growth brought a smile to my face. It's a tremendous game and I've been playing it consistently for years, clearly I'm not alone. As I looked at my play time and trophy count I realized that I am only 2 trophies from the platinum, but I've played almost 200 hours. The two trophies I'm missing are a crazy grind but I'm now determined to get them (All Gold licenses and buy 3 different 20 million dollar cars). This leads me to ask, what is the game you have logged the most time on without getting the plat? Most of my longest played games I've gotten to 100% but to be honest I just can't be bothered with those horse races in Witcher 3. Thanks for the great shows, I'll hang up and listen.

Hello Controversial Rogue, Weebish Wizard, and Comical Bard Have y'all ever snuck a peak into the future of a video game that you were currently playing and saw a playthrough just to see how strong your character will become? Rushing to see the forest beyond the trees as it were. I'm playing this game called Visions Of Mana and I am so tempted to type in: "Max Level gameplay of Visions Of Mana" (just to feel something) to see how powerful these characters will be. So Wielders Of The Sacred Symbols, have y'all peered into a crystal ball just to see a video game character's true potential? Your Friendly Neighborhood Gamer and take care My Skillful Chicken Chasers 🐔 🏃‍♂️

Hello Colin, So a little birdie has informed us on the discord that you had decided to dip your pot pie you were eating in mayonnaise. I understand that you have some weird food quirks. We all do. I get it. But dipping a pot pie in mayonnaise is highly heinous. What would posses you to do such a thing? What led you down this road to do such a crime against food? Please explain yourself. Thank you for the wonderful show and give that chicken a rest this holiday season

“Currently, the only way to play a blu ray is through a ps5”? What do you mean

The Silmarillion audio book read by RFK Jr.

Hey Gents, Data analysis firm Sensor Tower is predicting that GTA 6 has already generated $750M in revenue from preorders. Meanwhile, Avengers Doomsday has already sold $125M in tickets with 7 weeks until release. To put in perspective, the biggest domestic opening of all time did not have this amount of presales until 4 days before it's release. My question is this; who will have the bigger opening weekend running Thursday to Sunday? Box office analysts predict Avengers may hit $1.5B on its opening. Will GTA 6 be able to close the gap?

You weren’t honest, now get in the ground

What’s up sacred brethren, Does your perspective going into a game affect how you review or rate it? And do you think reviewers are influenced by the same thing? For example, when everyone is anticipating and excited for a game, does that intense desire to love it mean most reviewers might overlook shortcomings and rate it highly? On the flip side, with a game like Intergalactic, where it seems like people just want to hate on it, does that same intensity mean reviewers might unfairly pick it apart more than a game they were indifferent about going in? Or have you found that reviewers are mostly fair, and don’t let their initial expectations affect their actual experience with a game?

Hey sacred crew, All the DualSense talk last week made me think about what Sony is going to do for the PS6 controller. Do you guys think they will make a DualSense 2, or just stick with the current DualSense? If they do release a new version, what are the odds they will require it for playing on the PS6? A console that could cost $1000 while also forcing you to leave your old controllers behind would be a really bad look for Sony, who is already on thin ice. And it’s not without precedent, after all, we can’t use the DualShock 4 on the PS5. I don’t see any reason why it’s locked out besides forcing us to upgrade to the brand new thing. Thanks for all you guys do! Chris, you will be missed! I wish you all the best in your next chapter, and I am excited to see your new content!

Hey there Sacred Suckers! I’m writing in for only the second time to express my disappoint with yet another PS5 pro downgrade. Castlevania Belmont’s Curse runs at 4k 60 on PC, PS5, and Xbox series X. Digitally Foundry Revealed that only on ps5 Pro is the game Running at 1080p, and the comparisons are horrendous. This isn’t some PSSR upscaling, these are native resolutions. There has been multiple patches and this is still the case. How can this be!? Also Colin I’m assuming you played it on your Pro unaware. Does this make you retroactively angry as it does me? Keep up the great work guys

Tyler Kidder

Hey guys, I don’t write in very often, but my pit bull of seven years passed this week. Cooper was diagnosed with a brain tumor that couldn’t be fixed. In the span of a few days he lost all function on the right side of his face. I got him when he was two and was was transferred from home to home by people that didn’t want him. That was until he found his forever home with me. He was dealt a shit hand and I’ll always question why him. I hope I was able to make his years and final days enjoyable for him. Remember to hold your dogs, pets, friends and family dearly and never take them for granted.

DevTay10

Hey fellas, GTA VI is over 200gb, COD every year is 100+gb, games keep ballooning in size. What happened to the claim that SSD storage in the PS5 would lead to smaller game sizes?

Alex Affonso

The only 4k Blu ray player that Sony produces right now is the PS5. There is no other alternative from the company that spearheaded the technology

Laurence

Greetings CDC If GTA 6 turns out to be locked at 30fps, do you think it’ll genuinely detract from the experience? I’ve become so accustomed to 60fps during the PS5 generation that 30fps now looks pretty awful to me. In fact, I’ve started deliberately playing games in 30fps quality mode to try and retrain my eyes ahead of GTA’s release. Am I being ridiculous, or is this actually a sensible bit of preparation? What say you?

Vincent Castroll

CDC, Regarding the Laufey delay. Say Sony Santa Monica saw the feedback from the June gameplay that the game was too Triple A with the incessant comments from sidekicks and Laufey herself. Perhaps they also saw the Wolverine fart trail feedback as well. Could this delay be attributed to the growing response to these Triple A tropes and if so how much could be changed realistically from a 3 month delay? Thanks and thank you for the memories Chris. You’ll forever be a founding member of the podcast and your growth has been nothing but astounding from those OG episodes. Best of luck with whatever you do next!

James Stanbury

I just wanted to thank you guys for keeping me sane this week. My dad had an aortic value replacement a few days ago. The triple threat of Sacred Symbols, Plus and Steaming kept me distracted enough while I waited for the 4-5 hour surgery to pass. The surgery was a success and he seems to be doing well, hopefully he will be out of the ICU today and into the ward to begin the road to recovery. Thanks again and while I shall miss the current iteration of the show, I’m excited to see where we go from here. Kind regards, A fan from little, old New Zealand

Sunke 49

Hey guys, Colin have you seen the new chess.com bots themed after GTA? Yet another example of gtas unique marketing tactics. Do yall think that other companies are going to take these shocking and wild tactics and try them out? Chess.com for example has 200 million registered users, with several billion games played a year. It could easily find itself being used more broadly for these kinds of advertising. That all to say, Colin you should stream chess sometime. Thanks for all yall do! [chess.com numbers for Colin at this link: https://www.chess.com/board-reports/2025-q4

From your last week's episode. Say souls like one more time!!

Greetings and salutations CDC, I am watching A Goofy Movie with my son and this soundtrack is perfection. Which brings me to my question. What was the last game you played that had a soundtrack that stuck with you? Mine was The Messenger. That 8-bit to 16-bit transition is awesome. Take care and have getting you ass blasted by Washington kind of day.

Josh Ashley

hey guys im sorry but this is gonna be another “pick on colin” write in: mr moriarty, why is pronouncing the NES and SNES phonetically so blasphemous yet you pronounce the X as “ex” in terminology implying “times” such as “this game sold 10x more copies on this platform” nothing but love, and happy new year

Ed H

Hey CDC, Dynamic pricing on PSN raises a question beyond whether two people paying different prices is “fair.” Sony knows what we play, what we buy, what we wishlist, and whether we own a disc drive. We know nothing about how it uses that information. The obvious commercial destination is charging the most to those least likely to walk away. At what point does PlayStation’s knowledge of its most loyal customers stop improving the service and start being used against them? Are we already there? All the best, Ed H

Ed H

Shit, I’m sorry dude. Fingers are crossed for you man. 🤞🏼

2026-11-05 05:00 Hey CDC with GTA 6 on the horizon, it got me thinking about my childhood. As a child who was half Mexican living in rural Kentucky, I was bullied quite heavily, and I can’t count the number of times people would spit at me just for wanting to talk to them. If it weren’t for GTA being an outlet for my sadness and anger I wouldn’t be here today. That being said, what are the top 5 franchises that shaped who you are as a gamer? Sorry for the long write-in, and hope you all have a great weekend.
2026-11-04 21:29 Hey CDC, what are the 5 franchises that shaped who you are as a gamer? I did this exercise with Dustin during his stream, and I thought it would be cool to do it with you guys. Hope you all have a great weekend.

2026-11-05 02:00 Hey CDC. Your discussion recently about the PS6 strategy got me thinking about a drastic strategy shift for Sony. Is there a world where Sony could scrap the PS6 console, keep the handheld but call it a PS5 Portable? Rather than move on to a new generation before consumers are ready this can be an easy way to prolong this generation, especially in a future where all games would continue to release in the PS5 anyway. Please discuss

CD & Fading C, This week's Sacred Streaming begs us to ask; what is the best crash out of all time? Colin screaming about day light savings time and tooth shattering bacon is up there for sure...who else should join him in the halls of legend? Thanks for the show, and good luck in your next quest Chris! - Devon

Hey CDC, Did the next God of War game just shoot itself in the foot? Didn’t they just take preorders for the game a couple of weeks ago? I think the boost they had going for themselves was the lightning quick announce-to-release window, by drawing out the release they’re just giving people more time to scrutinize. If it was released quickly it would have felt like a nice surprise, but now it’ll need to deliver even more to prove people wrong following an extended release window. They maybe should have thought this one through a bit more before putting a date on it. Thanks!

Ding Dong

Sup, Sacred boys! I wanted to bring attention to Brad Ellis, the most caring member of Last Stand Media. Before he annexes Sacred Symbols and completely takes over by becoming the third chair and eventually becoming god-emperor, I would like to say that we have found evidence of a Sonic the Hedgehog magazine under his nephew's bed; do what you must with this information.

Saúl Nolasco

Good Day Gentlmen, The 15th Dog Man book came out this Tuesday, and just like Colin before a big video game sequel drops, my kid insisted on rereading the entire series from cover to cover. Granted, my son is nine and on the spectrum, so he has a valid medical reason for his methods. Colin, what's your excuse? But hey, at least both of you can finish something, unlike Chris and his YouTube videos. Thanks for all you guys do

Woopy77

Gents, if you’re going through a vestibule with two sets of doors and someone holds both doors for you, should you say thank you two times or is one thank you sufficient?

Hey CDC, question. I was wondering why we think PlayStation won’t make any PS6 exclusives at the beginning of its life cycle? I think that is the best route, I mean look at Nintendo with Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong. They alienated 80 million+ people on that to cater to the people grabbing the new more expensive hardware so why shouldn’t PlayStation? BTW I won’t even be an early adopter of PS6 so I’m not just catering to myself. Thank you!

E.Q. Carlson

Hey Dusty boy, One Piece has completely taken over Fortnite for a month, and thus you are legally obligated to play nothing but Battle Royale for the entirety of November. Sorry buddy, but I don't make the rules.

Donald A. Duck

Colin, did you contact one of your Soviet Connections at Sony to replace Herman Hulst with thee Ben Smith?! Man fuck all that bad PR and fear mongering around the brand, PlayStation is back baby!

Donald A. Duck

Boys, I’ve been put in a situation this very moment and I need y’all’s guidance. I have my cock in one hand and my other finger on the trigger. Which one should I pump?

Rachel Wilson

Greetings, Sacred Crew! Part of the 1% of your female listeners here! I’ve listened sporadically to the show throughout the years as my two older brothers are avid listeners. We’ve always bonded over our shared video game experiences. Now that we live a few hours away as adults, I decided over the last year to become a subscriber myself. I’m currently playing through The Blood of Dawnwalker, so that we can have our own little sibling “spoiler cast” about the game. Just wanted to say thank you for the hours of entertainment, and making it feel like my brothers and I are still as close as we were as kids. By the way, I’m pregnant! Shout out to my brothers who will have a new niece or nephew soon! Just wanted to break the news through the podcast that they never miss.

BlueMoose

Hey Super Sacred Studs, What are your thoughts on Sony’s implementation of dynamic pricing on the PlayStation Store? During the Black Friday sale, Astro Bot showed up as 44% off for me, while others were only getting 34% off for the exact same game. While I’m certainly not complaining about getting the better deal, it feels like a strange precedent to set. Do you think individualized pricing is something gamers will eventually accept, or does it risk creating resentment when people realize they’re paying different prices for the same digital games? Love all the amazing content and stay sexy my friends!

Surge!

Hey boyz, Are there any old game reviews you like to revisit? Colin, you've mentioned before how surreal it is that websites like GameFAQs still have old user documents from a bygone time. Between them and old IGN reviews, I still like to glance over articles that once held my attention. Halo 3's review by Hilary Goldstein and the Ocarina of Time review by Peer Schneider, are just a few I like to revisit. Am I so out of touch with the present? What say you?

Levitate

He's very inconsistent with his "how you should speak" outrage. Very quick to correct more vs. fewer but can't discern when "I" or "me" should be used in a sentence to save his life. Also, for someone that has to WEEKLY say Japanese words and names due to THE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY, he really needs to take just the one afternoon it requires to learn how A,E,I,O,U sounds are going to ALWAYS be pronounced in Japanese words and names.

Josh Ashley

less vs fewer, yes half the ign guys still have that issue. i get very grammar nazi sometimes, but im also from the american south where i will unironically use words like yall, aint, wanna and gunna. none of this will matter when the martians come for our butts.

Calvin Kirstein

Hey fellas, I'm a big Rise Against fan and I was recently going down a rabbit hole of their live shows on YouTube. I clicked on a video of one of my favourite songs of theirs, a live performance of "Paper Wings", uploaded 19 years ago. It currently has almost 3 million views and is quite frankly incredible. I naturally went to the comments, and who has the top comment? None other than Chris Ray Gun, posted 12 years ago. "This is the most beautiful performance of anything I've ever seen" were his words. And I couldn't agree more! Chris, I'm curious where "Paper Wings" ranks amongst Rise Against songs for you? That whole album is so good! I've listened to Sacred Symbols since day one, and I just wanted to also say thank you to Chris for his contributions and efforts over the years. You will be missed!

DillonsHere

Replying to myself to add and the Ocarina Remake, 3 of their biggest IP ignoring the original switch.

Ricky Williams

What’s up fellas, Have you guys seen the interview of Strauss Zelnick by the Wall Street Journal? The interviewer asks Zelnick if he’s concerned that GTA 6 is his “big hit” and that he “doesn’t have enough hits in [his] library”. His answer is priceless and what is this person doing interviewing him if she’s so uninformed???

SweatyNReady

Hey Fellas, Crazy week here in the U.S but it could be a positive one for the digital ownership movement our man Colin has been a part of championing. With Democrats in full control and the recently announced "power to the players act" by Democrat Ritchie Torres, this could legitimately be a good thing for him and his act for a few reasons; Torres will have a potentially more receptive congressional environment for advancing his proposal. Democratic committee chairs could prioritize consumer-protection legislation. The House and Senate could both hold hearings on digital ownership and game preservation. The FTC could eventually receive new authority to enforce consumer protections if legislation passes. There is a pretty decent chance that gamers stand to benefit from this blue wave, it's an optimistic outlook obviously but definitely a possibility.

Sechron

Hello Sacred Boys here's one for Papa Moriarty. My Mom's studing for the civic exam. Anything i should get to help her out?

Frank

What's up guys! Am I the only one who is surprised by the lack of GTAVI marketing? I had thought by this point the world would be inundated with marketing material for the game. I think back to some of the biggest entertainment launches of the past few years (big Star Wars movies, MARVEL, Christopher Nolan movies) and feel that VI hasn't been as in the mainstream as I had thought it would be. Thanks!

Kladknee .

Hey guys! I've been listening for years; half heartedly written in. Colin, I gotta ask you? This is the first, time I've lost attention for your company's media.... I've been listening to Cider House Rules. It's blown my mind... i know you love classic literature. Love to you guys deeply, I really mean that :)

SL

Wait, are you serious?! I was planning on buying this on my ps5 pro eventually, but thar is a nonsensical and borderline offensive oversight

The Diddler

Hey guys, When it comes to game sales this year, are people, and companies, taking into account that we are in a time where there are just too many games? “Gears only sold (X) amount of copies.” “Final Fantasy is a failure because it only sold (y)” Well, whatever game you buy, you won’t have time to finish it before the next big release. I would love to buy gears, FF, and Castlevania. I just don’t have time and I play games for 3~5 hours a day on average. Release timing matters.

Eugene Ahka

Hello, fine gentlemen. I need some advice. My girlfriend is quite a bit younger than me but we both enjoy regularly playing video games throughout the days and nights. We play a handful of online PC games together and occasionally a few co-op console games. My biggest concern, is that she plays a good amount of Fortnite and a handful of casual mobile/farming games on her phone. Should I work harder to convert her into a "true" gamer, or let our generational gap and gaming preferences be as they are? Thanks for all the wonderful shows. I'll hang up my lederhosen and listen.

boogersupreme

What's up gangsters, I'm about 7 hours into Hellraiser: Revival and have decided to drop the game due to being bored and not enjoying the game. With Chris being seemingly disappointed in Control: Resonant and strongly disliking Wolverine, Dustin disliking townfall and being super critical of Onimusha, and Colin not finishing LEGO Batman, do you guys feel compelled to finish games? This is the first game all year I have not finished, but in retrospect, I probably should be walking away from considerably more games given just how much is coming out all the time. What games have you dropped recently and what is your relationship to feeling compelled to finish games? Thanks as always. PS, what the fuck is up with Colin putting mayo on chicken pot pie? Micah put you on blast in the Discord and I can't decide if the penis hammering in Hellraiser or mayo pot pie is nastier.

Ethical mailman

I’ve listened to you since the beyond days colin. I love you. I know you play a character on your streams. But your cranky, arrogant, selfish character is annoying.

Herman & ASHA's love child

Dustin recently referenced the 100 McNugget Challenge, and Colin reminded everyone that it was Micah who prohibited his attempt. I suspect that the resulting digestive distress would sideline me for days, so her concerns are understandable. However, my mommy proposed that if Colin still hungered for the *spirit* of the challenge, he could sprint to his nearest Chick-fil-A for their Grilled Chicken Nuggets: Four 30-count boxes and one 8-count box are roughly comparable to the five 20-count boxes of McNuggets necessary for the challenge, at 1571 and 1590 grams, respectively. Grilled chicken breast should be easier to stomach, no? According to their nutrition table, you'd be looking at 7,280mg of sodium. On second thought, don't do this. Thanks and be well.

Minji of NewJeans

Hey fuckboys how awesome were those midterms? Everything still okay in your neighborhood?

Thedudeabides AF…

Sacred dudes, Hope you are all well and blessed. Thank you for the great content. I wanted to bring up another issue that is sort of similar to the hacking/service issue. For the past couple years, it has been nearly impossible for me to order anything direct to Sony. I had my eyes on the black GTA controller, wanted to order it, and no dice. Apparently this is a pretty common issue. You can have money on your card and everything looks right in the browser but Sony kicks back something about being unable to complete the transaction and asking me to try one of their retail partners. The internet searches say Sony is completely useless when asked to resolve this and that has been my experience too. I can’t even figure out where to send my issue on the site. Since Colin has been more frequently in congress with Sony since his hacking experience, I was wondering if this was something that could also be looked at more closely. Thanks so much.

Grant Kirkman

Hey guys, I’ve been listening all the way back since the Beyond days, though this is my first time writing in so hello, and thank you for all the years of great analysis and entertainment. My question is a big picture one for Colin and the whole crew about getting along with people you are politically opposed to. How important is it to you that the people in your company feel free to be who they are, both politically and just in general? You’ve mentioned in the past that politics isn't a reason you like or dislike someone, and I’d love to hear all of you talk a bit more about why political beliefs shouldn't define how we judge a person as a whole. and the freedom of nuance is the way to understanding someone's different beliefs. kind regards

Michael Alan

Hey Abbreviations, not sure who will be on the episode, but how closely does American politics in 2026 mirror the console wars? Sony had it all with the PS2 and fucked it up with the PS3. Microsoft got handed the win with the 360 and fucked it up with the Xbox One. Political parties could do the bare minimum and win and instead lose in a land slide because they might be actual retards. Has nobody learned anything? Wild times.

Florida Man

Hey Sacred Crew so can we talk about how flabbergasted Strauss Zelnick was, when he was asked about not having enough hits in Take Twos Library. I’m not usually one to worry about a question, but asking this is like asking Steven Spielberg if his next movie was enough to secure a hit because he may not have enough hits in his career. Thank go Zelnick set the record straight.

The Ghost of Kevin Butler

Greetings Sacred Crew, As I write this, Resident Evil (2026) is nearing a $410M global gross, becoming the 11th highest-grossing horror film of all time and PlayStation Productions' highest-grossing film, surpassing Uncharted's $407M total. It surprised many when the in-house studio's logo appeared in the film's opening, but we now know the studio quietly pushed for the rights after Cregger suggested the possibility when meeting with them. Constantin Film is the rights holder to the RE franchise, having one of those legendary deals akin to Sony's live-action Spider-Man deal. I'm sure the two companies will pursue this new RE venture again after its success, but my question is: which third-party franchise is next? The success of this film has probably opened the field for companies to approach them to make a film with PlayStation Productions, or given the recently formed studio leverage to pursue IP outside its stable of first-party titles. Zelda and Metal Gear are excluded, since those are Avi Arad Productions, which has a legacy distribution deal with Columbia.

Hey CDC, I hope you all are doing well! A few weeks ago, Brian Altano, Max Scoville, and a few other legacy IGN alums were laid off. This leaves only a handful of the OG staff left (Daemon, for one). Colin, any thoughts about the layoffs and how the IGN you once knew has almost completely turned over? Also, considering you are still on good terms with Altano, I’d love to see him on Sacred Plus to talk about IGN memories/war stories! Thanks, guys!

Hey CDC, While we mourn the loss of Chris, I think it's high time you revealed the new host. Who is this mystery person? And why is it Leon Furman?

I also have been playing it sense it came out. I think I have about 102 hours into it

Hi Colin, Chris, and Dustin, I’ve been listening to Colin since 2013, but this is my first time writing in. I’m an Environmental Health and Safety Manager at a chemical manufacturing facility in Birmingham, Alabama. During a monthly communication meeting, Ricky, one of our lab technicians, spotted the Sacred Symbols sticker on my water bottle. Later that week, he asked me about the show, and after issuing him a prompt “stand down,” we got to talking about Wolverine, physical media, and GTA VI. Neither of us had met a fellow listener in the wild before, and that unexpected camaraderie finally inspired me to write in. I just wanted to thank you guys for the entertainment and helping me get through long days at work. Ricky, as your EHS manager, keep those safety observations coming—you might just win a PS5 or Switch 2 at the next safety observation raffle. Best wishes to everyone at Last Stand, and stay safe out there!

Hey y'all. I have a question about platinum trophies. Have you ever kind of hated a game after getting the platinum trophy? I only ask because a couple of weeks ago I platinumed Dawnwalker because it seemed obtainable for me and I was truly enjoying my time. But after getting all the major endings, letting my loved ones die so I could grind to max level, and running a new game so I could get the tower ending I missed, I was emotionally drained and over the games' bullshit. It's still one of my favorite experiences on the year, but I immediately deleted it and don't think I could go back to it for a long time? Anything in your history give you similar vibes?

Ronnie Escoto

Greetings and salutations, CDC. First time, long time here. My name is Ronnie. This is more of a request then a write in. Since Chris is going to be departing soon into the ether, is there a way we can get more conversations between “Fwee Market” Colin and “Trump” Chris? I’ll gladly hang myself with the landline. And keep fucking that poultry.

Dear Sacred Men, When's the last time we had a full, meaty, 6 listener inquiries to end the show? I understand that some questions naturally fit into other discussions of the show. But what about us autists that then need to cut the show up and reorganize it? Would an emergency question be too difficult to prep? Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hey guys, As someone who works in corporate finance, I’ll take the usual slander and ignorance about what my group is responsible for. However, can we ever get some accountability for the sacrosanct “creatives”? Sure, there’s nuance to the $500 million The Coalition has burned since Gears 5. But even conservatively, how in the holy hell do you manage to spend that much on a project that would have to outsell your highest-selling game ever just to break even? Sure, throw stones at bean counters when extra monetization gets in the product's way, but what about dire cost overruns? This is a classic example of what happens when a properly functioning finance group isn’t enabled to help steer the ship, keep the team in the black, and keep headcount sustainable. See ya

Hey guys, I’m going to have to throw in a humbling correction here after last week’s episode. Chris… you started horror is in revival after the 2010s didn’t produce anything iconic. Then two of the three examples of horror becoming iconic recently (Terrifier and Dead by Daylight), were both over ten years old and smack dab in the middle of the 2010s! Dustin… when people ask is something is souls-like, they want to know if it’s gruelingly difficult. Obviously. Literally no one cares either way if a checkpoint respawns enemies. Colin… you didn’t say anything dumb this week but stay on your toes or you’ll be up shit’s ass before ya know it. Love the show guys, thanks.

Hello there, sacred gooners. I find myself in a funk. I was late to the game, but I finally picked up Elden Ring a couple months ago and just beat the main game and DLC. 192 hours total, and I loved it. It’s potentially my favorite game of all time, but now I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to start a new play through because it would be missing the wonder and mystery that comes with the first play through of a game that size and scope. But I’m finding myself with really no urge or desire to jump into another game, for a reason I don’t really know why. Presumably, I guess I don’t think the next game I play will be one I enjoy as much as Elden Ring was, but how long can that really go on? My question is — was there a game like this for any of you guys that seemed to stop you in your tracks or leave you in a similar funk because of how it left you when you were done, and if so, what game was it? Thanks gents, love the show, and best wishes to Chris as he moves on to his next endeavors!

Hey Fellas, Texas turned Blue before we got GTA VI

Benjamin Sharpe

What's up Colin, Dustin and soon to be "We don't already have a George" Chris. I only have 2 things. 1. Please tell me you saw the interview with Strauss Zelnick where he's told there's a real concern that they don't really have any hits and this is Take Two's big shot. Unreal. 2. How many holes does a straw have, and can this answer be applied the human body? I'm talking mouth to bootyhole. Stay golden kings.

Benjamin Sharpe

I'm sorry bro. I somehow had to put down both my cats of 13 years in a 2 week period this month. I feel you.

Cody Jones

Hey CDC. According to the WSJ, Zelnick and Take-Two do not have “enough hits in their library” Journalists are fucking retarded thank you for writing in

Snowbound

Orite lads According to Sony, Wolverine has sold 2.4 million units as of yesterday. Is it over for the fanboys? Will they have to finally reckon with the reality that this game is not selling very well? Thanks, I'm gay

Smegaladon

I’m also surprised, I live in Australia and we had more marketing for GoW Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2 and most recently COD MW4. Outside of the Netflix trailer I’ve seen next to nothing

Bobby T

Hey Sacred Symbols Dream Factory. Can we talk about how much the researchers at the Wall Street Journal must fucking hate the woman who recently interviewed Strauss Zelnick. Thanks and stay gorgeous.

Sam Ward

Hey CDC, The delay for God of War: Laufey has got me thinking, could this delay be due to the backlash to Wolverine and the level of hand holding in it? Did Santa Monica see the backlash for it and decide to try and get rid of as much of it as possible from Laufey? Or am I just reading too much into things?

Declan

Hey boys, Sony's earnings this week had them saying PS6 prep is on track, but still no date or price, while the PS5 is about to hit 100 million. Add the talk of a handheld and an "ecosystem" instead of a single box, and it makes me wonder: does Sony drop the numbers altogether? The gaps between generations keep shrinking, so a staggered cadence of portable, home console and pro, each a couple of years apart, seems like the better strategy than a hard reset every seven years, especially when you consider the reality of cross-gen games and how few reasons people have to make the jump to next gen. But how does PlayStation market that? Without a number, how do you tell people which device is for them, and keep the hype of a big launch? All the best, Declan

Dan Beaman

Hey CC and big D, What do you make of Strauss Zelnick being asked by the WSJ if he is worried GTA6 will be a one off big hit?! 15 titles selling over 5m isn’t a one off. Embarrassing but also hilarious to watch. Cheers from across the pond.

Phil

Hey Colin, Wolverine has sold 2.4 mil copies as of yesterday, fallen to 14th on the US PSN charts, totally fallen off the EU chart 1 month after its launch and is already in the Black Friday PSN deals (albiet the deluxe edition for 10 dollars cheaper than the standard edition). We can guestimate that the game probably needed to sell 5m full prices copies to break even. Its looking like it could be a bit of a bomb in the long run

FrostyNeedlez

Ahoy C, C, & D! Who’s been a listener since the very first episode back in 2018, and it’s my first time writing in. With impending date of our beloved Chris striding off to the sunset I have a name for a segment named after him, The Maldonado Minute! This would be the hour-or-so meandering to start the show (based on a mix of the New York minute and the time gaps between his YouTube videos ironically). Wishing Chris the best

Ewoc

Howdy Gents, With the talk about Deadlock last week, I wanted to at least let Colin know they have given more lore to Long Island. With their newest update on releasing characters, Rat King emerges from Long Island in order to take control of New York . Plenty of voice lines out there praising And making fun of your beloved home. Hope You and The Boys enjoy looking him up and tell your son Chris to just play Lash. He has a grappling hook mechanic for christ sakes. Take care.

Hi guys, I have a little suggestion/request for you. Could you please repeat the name of the game once you’ve finished talking about it? I listen to you guys while driving, so rewinding or trying to use timestamps isn’t particularly easy. Sometimes you’ll start talking about some shiny new game with a really weird name, something like Rectal Rewards 6. Naturally, I won’t commit that to memory because, quite frankly, it doesn’t sound like my sort of game. You’ll then proceed to spend the next 40 minutes talking about how it’s changed the industry, how the concept of putting one plank on top of another has been revolutionary, and how it’s fundamentally changed gaming as we know it. By this point, I’m obviously quite interested and want to check the game out. The only problem is that you never mention the name again. Fast forward 12 hours, and I’m having to explain to my wife why I’ve spent the last three hours searching for Anal Adventures 7, only to find some very different results! Anyway, just a little request. Keep up all the great work, love what you guys do! Matt P.S. Do you reckon there’s any chance my wife will buy this excuse?
