Too much time being spent on speculating on the COO situation. Public doesn’t know anything so doesn’t even seem worth guessing on what could have happened. Main takeaway IMO is that it’s sloppy that the public even knows about it. Just goes to show how much XBOX corporate cares about how they’re viewed on social media.

I’m sorry but the levels of sweeping from Cog during the gears budget segment was just absurd. I was kinda hanging with him until he said people are weaponizing the reported budget of gears eday, which has been reported by the most reputable figures in the industry, because people are mad that Xbox is returning to exclusivity. Come on.

The internet spent the better part of a month clowning Wolverine for its overinflated budget, among other things. Imo his read of the situation is ignorant at best and disingenuous at worst.

His read of the situation, that the budget is being used as a cudgel because of Xbox’s return to exclusivity, is the exact same language I’ve seen from the ColtEastwoods, Klobrilles, and Timdogs of the world. It feeds into this broader “Xbox vs. the world” mentality that those specific people have perpetuated for years. And yeah, as you said, completely ignores that everyone and their pet dog was dunking on Insomniac for the better part of a month for Wolverine's budget.

Thanks for reading my comment! I wasn't even thinking about Rainbow tactics or Splinter Cell when I wrote my comment, but you made a good point that Arkane on Splinter Cell could be a good fit. I'll reserve my judgement until after we see what Ubisoft does if it buys Arkane.
