The Sacred Symbols Fantasy Draft is back for 2023! On this episode of +, the three core Sacred hosts select 12 games, coming to PlayStation platforms (or perceived to be!), launching in 2023 (or so you may think!), that will score highest on Metacritic. Why 12? So we can shake our lists down to 10... and hope for the best!

This was super entertaining. I feel like the guys really cared this year after seeing the results of last years draft. Maybe do a snake style draft next year for maximum fairness?

Brandon Silvia

Kicking off the playoffs with some sacred drafting…. let’s f’n go

Angel DeJesus

No doubt the biggest reason gt7 has a 21, is cuz of the PlayStation haters. Look at the zeroes and see how many were as soon as users could score it.

Rich Price

I assume it was also review bombed when that early patch made credits less generous early on.

Drew Sleezer

I find the Street Fighter 6 commentary so funny, y’all may be the only video game content I consume that thinks SF6 looks bad. I fully disagree with ya, I think the animations and art design is world class. But I can’t help but wonder if the silent majority of gamers are more likely to agree with you.

Joe

“User scores should not exist and are worthless.” Yes, let’s take away the only tool users have of impacting real change, do you know how many things have been fixed because the game got negatively reviewed on steam?

Joshua Jones

Forspoken would be a good bet. It’s a safe 7 or 8 because the previews praise the combat and denounce the story. I don’t see it being horrible… definitely a decent pick in the bottom third of the draft

Rich Price

Colin’s about to go full on Obama medal meme

David D

On Atomic Heart, I keep hearing Colin refer to this anti-Russian sentiment that may surround the game, but I’ve literally never seen this at all besides Colin mentioning it, it almost makes me want to boycott it as a reactionary lol, I’d like to think if there are people boycotting it because of that that they’ve done proper research - it’s a complex situation out there, the game looks awesome regardless! Hopefully this year Russia is beaten/withdraws from Ukraine and we can begin the mending, fingers crossed it happens soon. P.S. Sonic Unleashed is amazing, check those user scores - they may be useless with review bombing, but positive user scores are *chefs kiss*

Michael Limauro

Good episode, but not much confidence in Alan wake 2 hitting its 2023 window! Gotta believe

Kevin Padua

Love the show I just have a quick question? As far as the game goes wouldn't it be a safer bet to pick a game like Forespoken even if it scores low rather than picking a game that you're not sure is coming out and receiving score of 0 which will pull your average down. Sorry if I'm missing something or if you discussed this already. Thanks again and thanks for all the great content.

Chris has an incredible list. I think he’s taking it home this year

LinkaFresh

As a fantasy player of most sports, great idea. Regarding games missing their release date…You guys should have a bench roster… 2 or 3 games on the bench that get put into play if this happens.

Piston Pants

I don't think hogwarts gets scores in the 50s because that would be too obvious. Keep an eye out for 69 to 74 type scores, high enough where reviewers can argue that it just their opinion the game is mid. But low enough to not put it over as great if it indeed is.

Michael Mashpotato

I’m honestly shocked that Horizon is an 88 Metacritic. I’m playing the game now and I find it to be marvelous. I’m enjoying the game much more then I enjoyed GOW. The combat is sooo much fun.

MomsLikeMe

Wait, why didn’t Chris get a score for Somerville? It came out this year. Is it because there was no PS5 version?

Michael Mashpotato

Ys Nordics should drop in NA first quarter of 2024. That game is going to be fucking epic. Ys is a new series for me and since playing 8 on my stinky Switch, I’ve become a huge fan of the series. Ys 9 was my personal GOTY in 2021

Matthew Miller

In light of today's leaked photo of Suicide Squad's menu, I was just waiting for someone to pick the game, not having the benefit of seeing the pic. I'm so sorry Dustin...

James Pies

I love these episodes. They act as a great preview for the year as well. I forgot about a ton of these games so it's cool to anticipate a possible 2023 release for some.

Tommy Larsen

No Horizon Burning Shores?? For sure thought that was gonna be the next pick after Chris picked Call of the Mountain.

Nikitas Gagas

Don't want to be that guy but picking a game that has already been reviewed on another platform is pretty much cheating. Re-releases should be banned, at least those are the rules on fantasycritic.games. That said, love that you guys are doing this.

TheMuff1nMon

Just wondering - what is the reason for not using Fantasycritic.games for this? It automates the scoring process and allows you to customize rules. Just curious. Oh and a correction: Octopath Traveler 2 is NOT coming to Xbox, despite getting the first and Atomic Heart devs confirmed 4K60fps this week so your fears of 30 are gone.

Michael Mashpotato

Yep and all with the stinky Switch’s 30FPS, Pop-in and 720p glory haha. I’m thankful though because it introduced me into the series. I will only play this series on my PlayStation now.

Chris Adams

Mlb the show and the NBA 2k series are constantly lower 80's. I know you guys don't play them but I think they would be safe and solid late picks

Brannon H

I think Chris is winning it easily this year
