Loved the video and the happiness Sabrina felt when finishing the pockets. Now, question: regarding those hobbies you mentioned, do you just pick one after another or has there been any one that stuck with you?

Bryce Carlson

Your research reminded me so much of what my daughter's mother went through in an attempt to answer the same question. Brava! Kaity's decision was the same as yours, so she made her own pants.

Simon Law

What sewing machine are you using? Do you like it?

Kim Ho

The research was focused mainly in Western garments (granted, mostly what you can find in stores). During your research, by any chance, did you run into the story of pockets of garments in other parts of the world? Did the two books you found in the library make references to them?

Eric Svensson

seconding this question (i know that in japanese kimonos the sleeves "contain" pockets)

Sabrina Cavender

Have you, since the video, had a pair or men's jeans tailored in order to have bigger pockets?

Dr. Shane Tilton

This is going to be a dumb question, is there a video and time code where Sabrina says “we live in a society?” Follow-up, why isn’t there a supercut of when they refer to this phrase?

Dylan Weaver

Why the focus at the end on modifying men's jeans to fit women, when the easier solution seems to be to sew bigger pockets into women's jeans? (Especially when this was alluded to in the intro)

Hope

Three questions: have any of you seen the new subreddit for AIP? And re: pockets - is there something that didn’t make it in the video that you really wanted to add, but couldn’t fit? Also, I know Taha has mary poppins pockets, but what do the three of you look for in bags when you don’t want bulky pockets?

Yall are hitting it out of the park with questions that have plagued me for so long lol. Great video, I learned a lot! I never realized how interesting the history behind pockets in (women's) fashion is until now. Sabrina's sewing montage definitely inspires me to consider learning how to alter my clothes. My questions: - Are there any pockets history fact caveats/tidbits that didn't make it into the video that you want to share? - So, sabrina has a bunch of random crafting hobbies -- I'm wondering where that started? What would be a good gateway crafting hobby for a beginner like myself? I think it's rly cool but I feel like I get daunted just starting a craft project! - I notice in recent videos, yall will include a call of some sort with the other two AIPs. How scripted/not scripted are these bits? I imagine yall discuss beforehand during the production of the video to some extent, but as a viewer it really just feels like friends vibechecking and roasting eachother lol. Regardless I hope you guys continue to do them where it makes sense -- it's alot of fun to watch and also highlights the collaborative nature of research!

I’m surprised you hadn’t discovered men’s pants earlier tbh. I’ve been wearing either unisex or men’s pants for years now and kinda forgot abt this problem. And if I get women’s jeans, they’ve gotta have deep enough pockets to comfortably hold a phone or I’m not getting them 😤 what was your biggest challenge with learning to sew? Have you ever endeavored this before?

Ellen Gordon

this video SPOKE to me. I had never seen your channel before, but this hit all the right questions that I have had for a while. Thank you AIP! I am now a patreon and I am finding all your archived videos. Sabrina in particular seems to be very similar to me. Any videos that you recommend as a fairly new member of your fan club?
