NicknLex Monthly Polls are like being forced to choose between Belgian Chocolate, Beluga Caviar, and a Cohiba Cigar...Unparalleled excellence in incomparable artistries...I make a choice because I'm asked (this time the seminal Talking Book) but as always I'll be more than happy with whatever delectable delight is ultimately served!

Rod

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for A Passion Play!

Kristine Doggett

I voted for Caress of Steel. Another great Rush album. Plus it has the "The Necromancer" on it. I just can't get into Springsteen. Sorry, guys.

Mark Alexander

Tull. Because Tull. One of the more challenging prog albums.

Great Scott

you just did Rush last month, so spread it around. At the moment it looks like JT could get it (which is good)...

Richard Dobson

I'm not complaining because I'm not a Dan member and haven't earned the right to choose, but if it had been Tull's Thick As A Brick, or Bruce's Darkness On The Edge of Town, I would have had a much tougher decision. But it's Rush for me!

David Hess

Nick, the Stone Temple Pilot album you played the song you reacted to from the Grunge marathon is a banger, actually the whole album is a banger, maybe someday you would put that album on a poll, I think everyone would enjoy it.

Kristine Doggett

STP had a LOT of good songs. One of the best bands of 90s when Scott was with them. RIP Scott.

David Hess

I believe both Nick and Lex will love it, Wicked Garden, Dead and Bloated, Plush, Sex type thing, etc. kick butt songs.

Scott Anderson

There is not a bad choice here all excellent, all kinds of great variety, and all worthwhile albums to hear and be reacted to. it’s a nearly impossible choice from a master chef’s menu of first class dishes. I will be happy to indulge in any of these but will probably vote for an outsider choice and see which way the wind blows or perhaps how the table is set.

JK

Totally agree. Those two albums deserve to be in future polls. This Dan member hears you.

JK

By the way Beck fans, Jeff is featured all over Talking Book too. Stevie even wrote Superstition for him, but Berry Gordy smelled a single and told Stevie to record it first. Wise decision!

Michael Gray

I had a very very hard time making a selection. These are all so awesome. I decided to go with Jeff Beck - Blow by Blow. Really great album but so are all the others.

ProgRockFan

So far, my favorite 3 are leading. Very cool. Wonder, Rush, Tull

Stephen Caruso

I would gladly listen to all of them not a bad suggestion any of them but I really like Jethro Tull

Dave

Gotta go chocolate out of that group but throw in a high grade bourbon and I'd be there.

Paul Styles

Got to do Tull at some stage!!

Lee Haskin

Currently a tie between Rush and Jethro Tull. Guess you'll just have to choose Tull and call it a day😂

Scott Anderson

Looks like the table is set and there are 2 main pieces competing for destiny. Hello Jethro, but you still have to do Thick as A Brick in the future. 👍👍

NicknLex

100 people haven't voted! What's going on??

JK

Nick, you have to scroll way down to find the poll because of all the blocked videos. I tried to check the numbers, and Patreon wouldn’t even let me go that far back. Maybe there’s a way to put it back at the top?

NicknLex

I'll check if I can put it back on top.

NicknLex

Just need to refresh the page. It has been pinned to the top since day one. Yeah people with voting power are not voting...

Scott Anderson

When looking on my phone i still have to scroll down and select see more and still keep scrolling to locate the he poll. I changed my vote last night and it took me a while to find the poll.

Ed

100 haven't voted? How many total people are there? I'm new on Patreon so I'm a complete idiot as to how this works. I'll have to ask the 8 year old neighbor kids to show me. He/she (they're fraternal twins) have always been my go-to source for all things computers for the last three years. Pathetic, I know. Oh OK, I see now. 151 total. Helps to read.

Ed

Also, if you do an entire album here then you wont do the songs individually anywhere? I voted for Caress of Steel but The Necromancer deserves individual attention (it's one of the last long epics NnL haven't heard that I know of, Lamneth is a side-long song on the other side but it's a bit out there). Neil had a lot of Tolkien pent up that he had to get off his chest. I'm OK with Tull so if they win that's OK by me. I'm easy.

Ian Bolton

The Necromancer is one of my favourite Rush songs, so I'm hoping Caress of Steel comes through.

NicknLex

We can always take 1 or 2 songs from the full album and post it on YouTube. We have done so with almost all full albums. You guys just get to hear it first on here.

Ed

Gotcha. I know it's easy to burn out doing an entire record but The Necromancer is the last song on side 1 so you should have enough gas in your tanks for that one. I can't say you will after that song but you should be OK for this one and hoping you have Ms Alexia with you. Oh, the song "I Think I'm Going Bald" was for Kim Mitchell from Max Webster. Silly song. :)

Stephen Caruso

Sorry we are doing Rush because it will be 2 straight months of the same band and I love Rush for 49 years listening to them but it would be nice to have Tull or any of the other choices and do Caress of Steel 3 -6 months apart from the July reaction..
