This was fun, a blast from the past for sure! Gallows Pole and Hats Off (just because of how weird it is) are two of my favorites from Zeppelin III.

Debra Brabenec

Hi! Fun to revisit Zep III! My older brother had the early albums so I bought my own copies when I was in college. I was excited to find an original III at a yard sale- LP in great condition, gatefold and spinning front cover picture changer in working order! (I'm not sure what that is really called!) It is interesting that Nick calls this a "heavy" album, since Page plays acoustic in more than half the songs, and on "Gallows Pole" he also plays banjo and JPJ plays mandolin too! My favorites are "Friends" , "That's the Way" and "Bron-Yr-Aur-Stomp". To me, there is a quite a country feel to a lot of this album. Keep up what you do, I love discovering new things and revisiting the classic oldies too!🎵💖🎵

You are officially ready to watch the film Almost Famous, which will place you in the middle of the 1970s rock scene. Cameron Crowe writes and directs his own story slipping into being a rock journalist at age 15. You may recognize some of the bands, like Led Zep and Humble Pie, among others. Check it out!

I was in my final year of high school when this was released and must admit, at the time, slightly disappointed that this wasn't heavier. Took me a long time to accept this album for what it is, four guys showing their versatility and not being afraid to experiment. Included on the album is one of my top 5 Zep songs, Gallows Pole, although my favourite version is the live one from "No Quarter". I now love the acoustic songs more than the heavier ones, that's called musical appreciation, not just head banging.

My favorites from III are Immigrant Song, Since I’ve been loving you, Tangerine and That’s the way. Hey Nick I Still was unable to watch this post this time the screen said error 401. ☹️

Even though I was immersed in music in the ‘70s—which meant hearing tons of LZ—I do not remember this song. I must have heard it, but it made no impression. It’s a pretty "meh" song from them. Unmistakably LZ, but a surprisingly blah effort from such dynamic artists and songwriters.

I just have to say Physical Graffiti was Zeppelin at their best!

Murdock Moriarty

Time the two of you do a road trip holliday through California 😄 Great you look at Led Zeppelin III. It's an unfairly underrated album between II and IV.

Apparently, "Tangerine" was an old song Page had still from his days with The Yardbirds, but only finished with Led Zeppelin.

Mike Nichols

Tangerine is a drink of sunshine dappled with the shade of leafy trees and a cool breeze. LED ZEP III was deliberately designed to show some versatility from the boys. Lots of acoustic guitar to balance the electric blues style developed on their first two albums, tho they throw in a couple goodies like that, too. Debra has it right about the country feel to this record, maybe English countryside filtered through their love of American music styles. LZ have many great deep cuts, as evidenced by Physical Graffiti, of which half are songs recorded earlier that didn't make it onto previous albums....Rock On!

OMFG!! I haven't heard this song in years and thanks, Nick & Lex!!! - <3 <3

Great song when I first saw them in 75 I couldn’t believe they they sat on stools and did this an a couple of other acoustic songs I was 16 and my mind was blown 😂

Although I knew of LZ as they became popular, I was more into the prog bands of the early 70s. The first Zeppelin album I bought was IV, then II and 'Houses Of The Holy'. But then I managed to score a ticket to one of their gigs at Earls Court, London in 1975 and I was blown away. My favourite Led Zeppelin moment though is Jimmy Page's violin bow solo on 'Dazed and Confused' in the 'Song Remains The Same' movie. To see (and hear on the live album) that for the first time is amazing. It's funny, but I love their music much more now, in my late 60s, than I did in my 20s! Great reaction. Thanks as always guys.

A full album reaction to Physical Graffiti would be cool!
