I’m so far behind on Patreon right now it’s scary. 😱 Free time arrives in two weeks when schools out and grading is done. Until then it’s one brick at a time. 😁 Lots of great things to watch and hear.

We don't need no education! Sorry Scott, I couldn't resist 😉

😂😂👏👏 I respect you for taking advantage of that perfect set up Bravo 😃 I’m close to retirement, can’t wait. I’ll miss students but not grading and certainly no thought control.

Richard Dobson

I have the utmost respect for you Scott. The world needs good teachers.

"Hey You" has always been a favourite of mine, and of course, "Comfortably Numb". But the whole album, including sides 3 & 4 here, are brilliant. There are so many great songs, like Nobody Home, Vera, The Show Must Go On, In the Flesh and Run Like Hell. I also love how both David and Roger both sing on "Hey You" and "Comfortably Numb". And I love the guitar work on that song... It's so haunting. The guitar solos on both songs are epic, but Comfortably Numb is still one of the best solos of all time.

I'm also surprised that so few people have tuned in to the reaction to Disc One. Let's hope they were waiting for the second part before listening to the whole album. There surely are many Pink Floyd fans on Patreon with you guys. Answers to a couple of queries - Roger wrote all the songs apart from 'Young Lust', 'Comfortably Numb' and 'Run Like Hell' all of which he co-wrote with David, and 'The Trial' which was co-written with Bob Ezrin, the album's producer. That is a whole other story, Roger's fraught relationship with Bob Ezrin and the difficulty both guys had working with each other. Not to mention the breakdown in the relationships between Roger, David and Richard during the whole recording. A tough time often produces classic art! The accent that reminded you of the 'small furry animals' is a Scottish accent (not cockney). I also like that on 'Hey You' there are 'pings' that feel like call-backs to 'Echoes' from Meddle, and the end of the track reminds me of 'Dogs' from Animals. This was the first time in a long time that I have sat down and listened to the whole album, well in two sittings I guess, and it has made me appreciate the album so much more. Thank you both, I'm so looking forward to all the other Pink Floyd full albums, and don't worry, you've already done the only album not to feature David Gilmour!

I remember in 1971 PBS did a special on Pink Floyd on Ch 13 in NYC I was 13 at the time and I was blown away so in 1974 I went to see the Pink Floyd movie in the theater and it was crazy good.. The Wall has many of my favorite tracks but it is not my favorite album..

Great Scott

So my recommendation last time was to do Meddle next, and you both said you wanted to do a different one next, and that's fine. It's your site, I'm just glad you take and consider our input. I still recommend that you get to Meddle Sooner rather than later, even if its not "next to react to" in the PF catalog. Anyway, this was also another great reaction, and I'm glad you heard stuff that you didn't realize was there.

I'm still trying to catch up on other Ms and full album reactions I missed, but since its been awhile that I've listened to The Wall start to finish in one sitting, I'm going to get to both parts reaction over the holidays. For full disclosure, while I enjoy much of The Wall, and it has some epic high points (Comfortably Numb), I still will always rank Dark Side, WYWH and Animals above it. The reasons involve Waters' complete dominaton and control of the project, which ultimately led to the unrepairable schism between RW and DG. I'll expound further after taking in the entire reaction.

KevB(rewski)

By "Pink Floyd movie" are you talking about Live at Pompeii?

KevB(rewski)

And Boom goes the dynamite! Way to take that soft lob at the net and smash it to smithereens Richard. 🤣

I hate to say this, cause I really like what you guys do, but Nick's singing ruined this. His voice is so grating and off pitch that I had to stop watching.

Well, i listen to Side A yesterday & B today, I knew a few songs, but not that many.... I know I'm a year late, but better late then never.. Next is The final Cut, if it's on here, the only Pink Floyd album that I own and not an album that I liked... Maybe this will change my mind. Oh, I liked The Wall A & B, but that's it, nothing more....
